This Dolly de Leon, Zanjoe Marudo, and Elijah Canlas Starrer is the Quintessential Netflix Family Drama this Holiday Season

Grab your lumpia & ready the tissues for this heartwarming family dramedy!

Christmas lights are on, bibingka vendors are lining up the streets, and the family holiday plans are abundant – that’s right, Pasko na naman! And what better way to tide the family holidays over than with a heartwarming film that’ll surely hit all the right notes (pun intended)?

Keys to the Heart is the Filipino remake of the beloved Korean film of the same name, starring Zanjoe Marudo as Joma. He plays the role of a washed-up boxer whose life takes an unexpected turn when he is suddenly reunited with his estranged mother Sylvia, played by Dolly de Leon, and his brother Jayjay, portrayed by Elijah Canlas. Recently fired from his job, Joma reluctantly agrees to stay at his mother's house, where he is eventually left to care for his special-needs brother, a piano virtuoso preparing to participate in a prestigious music competition.

Aside from top-notch acting and the chaotic (yet oddly familiar) family plot line, here’s why you should add Netflix’s Keys to the Heart to your holiday watchlist.

It shows that families aren’t always perfect – and that it’s okay.

At the heart of Keys to the Heart lies its central theme: the reconciliation between Joma and his mother, Sylvia, whose awkward reunion is shadowed by a shared tragedy from decades past. Joma, hardened by years of living on his own, is suddenly thrust into an unconventional family unit, attempting to find his place alongside a mother he barely knows and a brother he had never intended to connect with. In a world often dominated by idealized images of family dynamics, the film beautifully portrays the complexities and raw emotions that come with reuniting fractured families. It provides a refreshing reminder that real families are far from perfect–and that it’s absolutely okay. We’re reminded that familial love – in all its messy, unpredictable, and sometimes heartbreaking nature – can thrive amidst these imperfections.

It touches on the theme of forgiveness.

Christmas is often associated with themes of giving, kindness, goodwill, and most importantly, forgiveness – which masterfully portrayed in Keys to the Heart. Over time, even the gritty Joma finds himself becoming protective of a brother he initially wanted nothing to do with and showing concern for a mother he despised. We witness his journey of letting go of the grudges and letting in compassion and understanding – virtues some of us might struggle to embrace, especially during the holiday season.

It emphasizes the magic of and in music.

And what’s Filipino Christmas without music? Or better yet, what are Filipinos without music, period? One of the most significant aspects of the film is embedded into Jayjay’s musical ingenuity; it underscores the enchanting magic of music, laced throughout the narrative and into the lives of its characters. These transformative melodies bring healing and solace – not only for the characters but also for the viewers. Keys to the Heart reminds us that music, as a universal and unifying language, has the extraordinary power to touch and transform the hearts of people.

It teaches us the value of perseverance.

An effective Christmas movie not only brings joy to the viewers, but also imparts valuable lessons that carry into the new year. And what better way to show that but with tenacious protagonists who carry on and persevere amid their circumstances? There’s Joma and his dedication to his craft – even after years of being stripped of his boxing license – and Jayjay with music and how he, in his own ways, pushes through in spite of his special needs. Together, the two remind us of possibilities and the strength and power of resilience.

It is simple yet comforting–a perfect watch for the holidays!

As the holiday season nears, we seek the cozy embrace of heartwarming films that capture the spirit of togetherness paired with the magic of the season, and Keys to the Heart effortlessly captures that through moments of laughter, tears, and heart-stirring moments. With a beautifully uncomplicated storyline, it offers a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of the season – and of life, really.

Prepare to be moved, entertained, and inspired by this Filipino remake. Watch Keys to the Heart, now showing on Netflix. Check out the trailer below:

Businesses and consumers can discover the best that the region offers, as the event takes place from October 13 to 15, 2023.

The RTF is one of the signature events of the TPB being held in different parts of the country to give host regions an opportunity to present their rich local culture and their unique tourism offerings to the public.

Cover Story: The Philosophy of the OPPO Find N3 Flip’s outer screen

When OPPO launched the Find N2 Flip, it had the largest cover screen of any flip phone in the market. With an impressive 3.26-inch large display, it brought a revolutionary upgrade to the experience of the Flip phone.

After the Find N2 Flip, OPPO saw the entire industry following their lead in this direction, with the size of cover screens on flip phones getting larger and larger.

With the announcement of the OPPO Find N3 Flip, OPPO once again sets the standard in the user’s overall experience by introducing enhancements in its latest flip smartphone.

Vertical is Better

OPPO had a choice when making the OPPO Find N3 Flip: follow the trend and try and make the biggest cover screen once again, or think differently.

They went back and took a serious look at what kind of cover screen provides the best user experience.

Considering the daily scenarios users encounter and OPPO's in-depth understanding of its global users, they still believe that "Vertical is Better."
Selfies with Vertically No Crop

When you use the cover screen to take selfies, you can see the full preview.

It's so familiar – the same orientation as your smartphone screen. It’s also the same orientation as the phone's camera sensor. This means it captures photos with virtually no crop. What you literally see is what you get.

Compared to other products, although they can display more now by increasing the size of the cover screen, it is still evident that whether it's people or the background, the vertical cover screen of the OPPO Find N3 Flip can provide a better preview of more content, helping users compose their shots more effectively and confidently.

Bigger is Better

Most Android apps are designed to work on a vertical screen. Therefore, the vertical cover screen of the OPPO Find N3 Flip gives a more natural and intuitive experience. The bigger screen can also display more information.

Compared to other products, the OPPO Find N3 Flip can provide previews of more text messages and emails (e.g.Gmail) and showing more of the conversation details (e.g. WhatsApp).

It can also display more complete social media posts (X/Twitter). Other products can only show a portion of the text. The OPPO Find N3 Flip allows users to see both text and the entire four accompanying images.

These differences are not solely determined by screen size but are the most noticeable efficiency disparities users experience in their daily lives.

The Next-Level Cover Screen Experience

Over the past few months, OPPO has been working with its partners like Google to fine-tune the experience for each app to make sure all the supporting apps scale as well as possible on the cover screen.

Out of the box, the OPPO Find N3 Flip will support dozens of the most popular apps on the cover screen. This includes Google apps like Phone, Maps, Keep, and Gmail, as well as other popular apps social media, short video, music streaming and food delivery apps, and car-hailing services, maps, online payment solutions and more.

Answer the phone with Google Dial, play a fun GameSnacks game, hail a taxi with Grab, navigate with Google Maps, check your social media – swiping through posts and videos, or even reply to messages in Telegram with a Google keyboard, and you can do all of that without having to open up the phone.

More apps will be added on OPPO Find N3 Flip’s powerful cover screen through future software updates.

With the new app support, OPPO believes users will experience the next-level cover screen experience on the OPPO Find N3 Flip.

“We started the Write to Ignite initiative amid the pandemic. It was timely back then, and it still is up to now. At a time when our social media has become a tool for the proliferation of fake news, trolling, organized bashing, hate campaigns, and black propaganda, we go back to the very essence and roots of blogging, which is authentic storytelling. This is what a real blogger does. We trust and believe that they uphold the very essence of the practice, sharing the truth through inspirational writing and storytelling. This is why we are proud of the Write to Ignite bloggers, content creators, and storytellers as once again, they were able to demonstrate that the platforms they use can be, and should be, used for positive social change," said Ferdinand L. Bondoy, the Group Chief Executive Director and Lead Strategic Communications Counsel / Partner and Co-Founder of COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises.

"It was a challenge to have to write someone else's story, but our Write to Ignite storytellers were able to accomplish that and even exceed expectations. All entries and stories were very valuable and worthy of being read, shared, and recognized," shared Mr. Bondoy.

UNMASKED: The COMCO Mundo Write to Ignite Initiative Season 3 is created and organized by COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises, with airasia as a major sponsor / brand partner; with Babyflo and PHILUSA Corporation, Century Tuna, Licealiz and Lamoiyan Corporation, Rémy Martin, and Uratex Monoblock as sponsors / brand partners; with Make-A-Wish Philippines, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Philippine Eagle Foundation, Save the Children Philippines and SOS Children's Villages Philippines as NGO partners; and with SEA Wave Pop Culture Magazine as the official media partner.
