Yellow Cab fuels thousands of Hustlers with Pizza Tour

Yellow Cab recently wrapped up its So Worth It! The Yellow Cab Pizza Tour, with thousands of hungry hustlers fueled by the iconic pizza joint to chase their so-worth-it aspirations this 2019.

Yellow Cab’s multi-legged event mobilized the hardworking crowd of Metro Manila, Baguio, and Davao, serving up Yellow Cab’s bestselling pizza with a hefty dose of positive energy from inspiring musical performances. To keep the momentum going, participants were also handed limited edition Pizza Passes, which they can use to redeem discounts when they dine in at Yellow Cab stores and order their favorites.

“Today’s generation of hustlers are very passionate about their goals, but this doesn’t mean that they are immune to challenges that make them stop and ask if what they do is even worth it,” said Charlene Sapina, Head of Marketing Operations for Yellow Cab

“That’s why we at Yellow Cab ran the first ever Pizza Tour in January, to make sure that hungry hustlers everywhere get the powering head start they need to prove that the chase is not just worth it, but so worth it.”

Folk-pop band, Ben&Ben headlined the tour’s kick off at Eastwood Central Plaza in Quezon City, where they also debuted two new singles as a special treat to their fellow hustlers. The fast-rising act seem to be destined for greatness with their back-to-back hits and sold-out gigs, but life in the fast lane wasn’t always this rewarding for the group. To help them get through the hardships that came with the pursuit of their craft, they leaned on each other for support, and Yellow Cab to satiate their hunger.

Yellow Cab’s exciting list of so-worth-it performers in Eastwood also included indie rock group Oh, Flamingo! and high-octane spinners DJ Miaow and DJ MVRXX.

Over in Baguio City, hundreds of hustlers flocked to Baguio-Ayala Land Technohub to witness some of the City of Pines’ hippest acts, including soulful spinner DJ Jethro, punk-pop group Amateurish, and lo-fi post-rock band Turncoats.

Davao City saw veteran spinner DJ Ryan setting the mood for the evening of festivities, followed by an acoustic set by One Life Band, and Pilipinas Got Talent grand finalist and Davao’s favorite boyband Next Option.

“Music and good food go perfectly well together,” shared Sapina. “We partnered with these artists not just to complement Yellow Cab’s offerings, but also to inspire people with their success stories. Their rise to prominence is a product of hours of hustling and beating the odds, and all their efforts are really so worth it.”

While hustlers everywhere can still look forward to more exciting activities from Yellow Cab, the So Worth It! The Yellow Cab Pizza Tour will go down in the brand’s history as another successful shot at delivering generous, edge-to-edge flavors while giving modern day hustlers the unrelenting drive they need to succeed.

#MegaGandaAngBuhay ! MEGA Sardines’ ‘First Day’ delivers a mega dose of ‘kilig’

Do you still remember your first day at your very first job?

In the wake of its first two viral videos “Adulting” and “Tipidity,” MEGA Sardines, the Number 1 sardines brand in the Philippines, treads lightly into 2019 with “First Day,” its third short film under its #MegaGandaAngBuhay trilogy.

“First Day” tells the story of Joseph, an idealistic, fresh-out-of-college young man from Cebu (played by Jindric Macapagal) who is caught in an awkward situation on his first day at work in a Makati office.

What could go wrong—or right—on Day 1?

“‘First Day’ reveals the answer in an unexpected and heartwarming manner, delivering a mega dose of‘kilig’ on a hugely relatable slice of life,” says film director and public relations specialist Chris Cahilig.

As shown in its first two short films, the MEGA Sardines’ #MegaGandaAngBuhay campaign, Cahilig points out, reinforces timeless Filipino themes and values. While “Tipidity” brought humor and “Adulting”delivered drama, “First Day,” the third and last film in the trilogy, offers lighthearted moments and wraps up with a plot twist that the audience won’t see coming.

“Whether at work or at home, there’s very little doubt that intriguing conversations—and relationships—can be sparked by delectable comfort food,” Cahilig hints at what’s coming.

However one looks at it, “First Day” fits right into the #MegaGandaAngBuhay campaign by depicting how MEGA Sardines, as a staple viand, has fortuitously figured in the unforgettable “firsts” of its Filipino patrons.

“First Day” was made possible by Tiu Lim Foundation (executive producer), Rommel Sales (cinematography), Yuji Gonzales (screenplay), Jegs Morales (offline editor), Kenneth Amparo (online editor), Melai Entuna (line producer), Clark Lopez (assistant director), Kat Salinas (sound design), Richard Gonzales (scoring), Det Moldera (accounts manager), Yani Bautista (production manager), and Johanna Evangelista (production coordinator). “First Day” can be viewed on MEGA’s official Facebook page www.facebook.com/officialmegasardines and YouTube channel (Mega Global).

Meanwhile, “Tipidity” and “Adulting” have garnered, to date, almost 3 million views on YouTube alone. Both short films can also be viewed on MEGA Sardines’ official Facebook page.

Manufactured by Mega Global Corporation, MEGA Sardines offers the freshest and most delicious sardines packed within 12 hours from catching to canning. It is available in easy-to-open cans and pouch formats for convenience.

MEGA Sardines is available in supermarkets nationwide, with a wide array of variants like MEGA Sardines in Tomato Sauce, Tomato Sauce with Chili, Paksiw Style, and Spanish-Style; MEGA Sardines Creations in Natural Oil and in Spanish-Style; MEGA Extra Hot Sardines; MEGA Fried Sardines Tausi and MEGA Fried Sardines Hot and Spicy.

Adventure mode on, anytime and anywhere with the AirAsia Credit Card

Undoubtedly the generation that has been setting trends, millennials have the constant desire to reinvent themselves and discover more of the world around them. It is no wonder that one activity that has been defining their different lifestyles is traveling.

Millennials are always on the quest for fresh experiences and new stories that they can share with their friends and family. It is through traveling that they discover a passion for thrilling adventures and a thirst to connect with various communities as they go from one place to another.

Why millennials travel

“I love getting introduced to new tastes, beliefs, art, and people,” shares Frankie, a 25-year-old freelance brand journalist. Like many other individuals her age, she has flown to popular international destinations such as Hong Kong and South Korea. And for her, nothing beats immersing in the moments where she gets to learn a new culture.

Her most recent trip to Korea was the first time she explored the home to many K-dramas. But her one week stay in Seoul proved that the country is best experienced in person, she narrates, “I enjoyed every single day of my vacation. From going to the best tourist spots, to tasting their popular street food, there wasn’t a single dull moment. I even had an amazing time just walking around the area.”

Another traveler, Michelle, testifies that the beauty of traveling is being able to learn different cultures, meeting locals, and trying out local delicacies. The 27-year-old recalls the first time she fell in love with traveling was when she flew to the province of Samar.

“I had my first plane ride in 2008 and it was very memorable because it was also the time that I met our relatives in Samar. Throughout the trip, our relatives toured us around town and I witnessed the different wonderful rock formations and their amazing beaches,” says Michelle. She adds that it was the trip that inspired her to soon fly to Boracay, Cebu, Tacloban, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Korea.

Powering a lifestyle of travel

“The rule of thumb for trips is that you should do whatever you can fit in the limited time you’re there because who knows when you’ll get another chance to,” advises Frankie. As an impulsive traveler, she relies on the power of technology to maximize her travel experience. “Technology is the best. I’ve received so many discounts and deals from apps made for travelling such as tickets, accommodation, and passes to tourist spots.”

Meanwhile, Michelle shares the statement that resonates with a lot of millennial travelers today. “You don’t need a lot of money to be able to travel. There are a lot of wonderful places where you can eat, stay, and go to that are not as expensive. Searching online also helps a lot.”

Understanding the needs of the adventurous in this generation of wanderers, RCBC Bankard and AirAsia team up to bring a credit card that powers every millennials’ aspiration for travel. Now, there’s no better way to fly out of the country and experience a rewarding vacation than having the AirAsia Credit Card, powered by RCBC Bankard.

A model CBD: Filinvest City's green design guided by LEED-ND certification

Filinvest City aims to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) certification by using only the best practices in urban planning.

Filinvest City in Alabang is once again making a remarkable stride in transforming the landscape of the Metro South as it actively seeks the prestigious and coveted Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) Plan Version Four Certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

LEED for Neighborhood Development was initiated to recognize large-scale townships that successfully protect and enhance the overall health, natural environment and quality of life. The LEED-ND rating system clarifies the sustainability of neighborhoods using an integrated set of smart growth, new urbanization, and green construction principles.

A future-ready, masterplanned urban center

Furthermore, in keeping with USGBC’s thrust, Filinvest City was envisioned as a future-ready, masterplanned community that is responsive to the needs of the changing times.

“Filinvest City embodies the principles of smart growth with walkable streets and an inviting mix of trees and development to foster a sense of community,” says Dean Barone of Barone International, Filinvest City’s LEED consultant. “It is a place with its own unique character and function where people live, work and play and interact with the community.”

Filinvest City has proudly established itself as the world-class Central Business District of Metro South, harmoniously blending modern, state-of-the-art urban lifestyle and innovative masterplanning with green, open spaces and eco-centric features that make it a walkable and bike-friendly community. Its management believes that achieving economic progress and prosperity can and should be done without sacrificing nature and ecological balance. The masterplan was reviewed and enhanced further to includemore nature-friendly features and amenities. With this vision, Filinvest City was also cited for Best Mixed Use Development at the Asia Pacific Property Awards.

A self-contained, sustainable convergence hub

Ease of movement with accessibility at its core, allowing for true pedestrianization, is at the heart of Filinvest City. As a sustainable community, it strives to cater to diverse needs of existing and future city dwellers. It has established itself as a modern metropolis where a quality range of residential options, lifestyle centers, and community hubs are available for every lifestyle, with schools, public and private hospitals, and government institutions nearby. Apart from being a thriving business district, Filinvest City stands in a class if its own Garden City with the enhancement of green spaces and parks and pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly streets.

"We want Filinvest City to be an experiential CBD, for residents and workers to experience the city at a ground level—that their daily lives won't end at their offices or homes, but rather extend to the parks and other play components provided for them," says Don Ubaldo, Filinvest Alabang, Inc. vice president for townships.

Host to some of the biggest multinational corporations, Filinvest City’s skyline alsoconsists of sleek high-rises and several green buildings, with certified projects such as Axis Tower One, Vector Three, Toyota Alabang, Polaris, HSBC New Alabang, andCapella. Even its premium residential developments like Botanika Nature Residences is Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE)-certified. The Northgate Cyberzone, the biggest, most innovative IT park in the Metro South that is home to a number of these buildings, takes pride in its District Cooling System (DCS)which helps lessen the energy consumption of the buildings.

A progressive fusion of nature and modernity

A verdant garden and breathable city—where modernity and nature meet—is what sets Filinvest City apart. Lush landscapes and open spaces are provided as areas of convergence for the whole community—locators and residents, as well as their guests. Thus, Filinvest City is a more conducive working and living environment compared to other CBDs which are saturated and have fewer open spaces.

Other streetscape enhancements are in the pipeline, proof of Filinvest City’s further commitment to green living. Plans include the Central Park along Promenade Avenue and the Creekside Park development from Palms Pointe Village down to Festival Alabang.

All these and more are testaments of Filinvest City’s continuous efforts in making the entire CBD a model township—one that uses only the best practices in urban planning.

Adds Ubaldo: “Our vision for Filinvest City is one that is forward-looking and grounded on sustainability, where staying abreast with modernity is balanced with the needs of the environment and the people.”
