iNova Pharmaceuticals spreads holiday cheer to kids

The sound of laughter and joy echoed through the neighborhood as over a hundred children from the local outdoor basketball court of Barangay Fort Bonifacio gathered recently to receive a special surprise from iNova Pharma Philippines, Inc.

The kids were greeted with an entertaining magic and puppet show courtesy of iNova Pharmaceuticals. iNova Pharma Philippines, Inc Managing Director Jason Carroll swooped in like Santa Claus to hand out presents to the kids at the end of the show.

Here you go! iNova Pharma Philippines, Inc Managing Director Jason Carroll led the iNova team in giving gifts to the kids of Barangay Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City. Additionally, the company also provided the kids with an entertaining magic and puppet show as well as lunch to make for a memorable occasion.

Lighting up faces, an annual tradition

Seeing their faces light up with delight like that reminds us of the importance of giving and sharing in our communities,” said Carroll. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to give back.”

The company has been carrying out its annual tradition of gifting children in the community for Christmas since 2019. Each year, the company donates presents and toys to children in need, providing a memorable holiday experience for those who might not otherwise have one.

Due to the pandemic, the event was suspended for safety reasons. This year, the company was able to revive the tradition and was once again able to spread some holiday cheer to the community's kids.

Thanks to the combined efforts of iNova Pharma Philippines, Inc. and the local leaders of Barangay Fort Bonifacio, the event gave kids in the community a memorable day of fun and Christmas cheer.

New AXA campaign brings ‘Me-Time’ to Asia’s sandwich generation, encouraging them to redefine what it means to be well

“Make Time For Me-Time” deepens AXA’s commitment to provide tangible and meaningful support
for positive mind health

AXA today launches an Asia-wide campaign encouraging everyone to ‘Make Time For Me-Time’, normalising the importance of making time for yourself because healthcare starts with self-care.

The campaign was inspired by the needs of Asia’s sandwich generation, who are caught between caring for their elderly parents and their children, meaning they find themselves spending their waking hours caring for others. When they do find a few minutes to devote to themselves, they can often feel guilty or ashamed – especially if it means telling someone ‘No’.

This insight reflects AXA’s continued focus on promoting positive mind health both in and out of the workplace. This includes raising awareness of its importance to overall health and breaking down stigma through initiatives like its annual Mind Health and Wellbeing Study, as well as equipping individuals with the tools to improve their own mental wellbeing, such as through its recent Fit to Flourish series that provided a path to developing the 10 skills that underpin good mental health.

“For the sandwich generation in Asia, cultural expectations mean it is normal to spend your waking hours caring for others, whether at home or at work. Yet AXA’s own research and experience in serving our customers shows that self-care is critical to wellbeing and the more you care for yourself, the more you can care for others,” says Gordon Watson, CEO of AXA Asia and Africa. “We therefore want to normalise the importance of taking time out for yourself, free from guilt, as a necessary part of what it means to be well.”

Watch the campaign film

The new integrated campaign is steeped in the science of colour: soft blues help with mental fatigue, red is associated with energy and improving blood circulation, and yellows create a sense of warmth.

To bring this to life, AXA has also collaborated with renowned artist YOSHIROTTEN to create an ‘Art Care Series’. A specially created series of eye, breathing and stretching exercises aim to soothe the body and mind using the science of shape, colour and sound. Ranging from 30-seconds to 15 minutes in length, the outdoor activations will be placed in high-traffic areas to remind people to take time out for themselves.

Created by Publicis Groupe Hong Kong, ‘Make Time for Me-Time’ is launching Asia-wide in markets including Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines, with influencers sharing their personal experiences and tips for making time for Me-Time.

Learn the A-Z to stop cyberbullying; go to www.makeitsafe.ph

A is for apple? Think again. In cyber lingo, as these parents have experienced, the alphabet takes a whole new meaning, but not necessarily all good.
These cyber expressions could range from AMP, a shorter version of a Filipino cuss word, to other derogatory terms.

Or you might have heard someone say “Go KYS” or “Reincarnate.” These are simple but disturbing terms with the harmful intention of telling a person to “kill yourself.”

And sometimes, cyberbullying does not even use letters or words. Instead, people resort to emojis such as a pig face or snout to shame a person for being fat, or a clown to denote stupidity.

Offensive language and emojis, which often victimize users of social media and social messaging apps, do not stop at inflicting emotional pain. It may cause anxiety, fear, and depression that could prove damaging to mental health, especially among kids and young adults. Cyberbullying is also known to lead to negative self-talk and low self-esteem among children.

“To stop cyberbullying, we start with understanding how and where it happens. Parents can protect their children better if they know how young people communicate. Globe is sharing helpful tips on how parents can guide their kids in this new digital environment,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe.

Explore the new language of the youth and learn the A-Z of cyberbullying prevention through Globe's new portal, www.makeitsafe.ph, accessible via mobile and desktop browsers. You can talk about the alphabet on the site and how each corresponds to lessons on cyberbullying.

You may even add words you may have heard used in cyberbullying to help expand the glossary.

The portal is part of Globe’s cyber safety advocacy, which runs parallel to its support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which fosters innovation towards economic development under SDG No. 9, and inclusive and equitable quality education under SDG No. 4.

The country’s leading digital solutions platform has various initiatives to protect people, particularly, minors and the youth, from cyberviolence, which includes bullying, and online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

Globe also implements the Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), a series of workshops and modules that teaches students, parents, and teachers about online responsibility and safety. It has been rolling out initiatives under the #makeITsafePH campaign to raise awareness about cybersecurity, partnering with various local and international organizations to block sites that promote OSAEC.

Top Immunity Boosting Habits and Essentials You Need For Your Family’s Protection

#BeReady Everyday and Build Immunity Resilience from morning to night

Maintaining good health for you and your family requires discipline, hard work, and consistency. As a breadwinner, the responsibility of taking care of your family goes beyond being the main provider and paying bills, extending to other duties like running errands, and of course, making sure their health is in top form. In order to accomplish all that, taking care of yourself must also be a priority, as sickness is not an option.

With the rise of disease-causing germs and viruses along with the factors of modern-day life, breadwinners are looking for the best and most effective ways to strengthen their own and their family’s immunity to avoid illnesses.

Here are some of the immunity-boosting habits that you can start practicing to build a healthy routine that supports and strengthens your family’s immune system:

Start Your Mornings Right

Mornings don’t need to be dreadful if you swap out worrying about the tasks of the day with setting aside some me-time sessions instead. Getting up earlier than the world and enjoying the peace and quiet with a morning meditation under the sun will instantly brighten your mood and give you an extra dose of vitamin D. If you have no access to an outdoor area, don’t miss out on your vitamin D and get your daily immunity boost with just one tablet of Ascorbic Acid + Zinc + Cholecalciferol (Redoxon®) Triple Action dissolved in a glass of water, along with proper diet and exercise.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

It’s the number one advice of doctors for a reason! A healthy and balanced diet contains the essential nutrients to support the immune system. The key to this is in meal planning. You can start by preparing a weekly meal plan for your family that incorporates more fruits and vegetables in every meal to limit your family’s consumption of processed food and excessive sugar.

Take Vitamins and Supplements

There are days that your body will not be able to receive the sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals it needs. On those days, supplements are your best friend since adequate and regular supply of essential nutrients is needed to help strengthen the immune system and help fight off the germs and viruses that may cause diseases, with proper diet and exercise. 1

It’s a good thing that the world’s pioneer immunity brand since 1934, Ascorbic Acid + Zinc + Cholecalciferol (Redoxon®), has finally arrived in the Philippines! Boosting your mornings with this family breakfast immunity drink, you can be confident in getting the essential micronutrients you and your family need. Ascorbic Acid + Zinc + Cholecalciferol (Redoxon®) Triple Action defense combines Vitamin C that helps protects body from oxidative stress, Vitamin D3 to help strengthen immunity, and Zinc to help defend the immune system in just one tablet dissolved in a glass of water, along with proper diet and exercise.

Engage in an Active Lifestyle

Exercise doesn’t just keep you fit, but it also improves your mood and can help decrease the risk of chronic diseases. Whether it’s a full-body workout, playing sports, or even simple activities like walking for half an hour, make it a part of your daily schedule to move your body every day!
