Summer time is great time for summer fun and family.  This is a great time to get in your kids to physical activities.


We love summer because of family time! Families can take advantage of this long vacation by engaging in sports activities and being fit. Healthy living is not only a trend but a definite must for every Filipino family. It need not be expensive to commit to a healthy lifestyle. Outdoor games are fun to do especially with family as your team members. Manila Ocean Park's first ever Fam-O-Lympics is the perfect summer weekend activity this April 13 to 15.
Fam-O-Lympics is a 3-day event with main competition to be held on Saturday, April 14. Contestants will undergo three rounds of various challenges aimed to prove the quickest family or team who will eventually win cash, tickets to Manila Ocean Park attractions, overnight accommodation at Hotel H2o and other exciting prizes. 

Fam-O-Lympics is open to groups of 4 members – 2 adults and 2 children. Online registration form is available at www.manilaoceanpark.com and submit at famolympics@manilaoceanpark.com.

Registration period is until April 14. Contest fee is P50 per head and each family must bring 4 packs of any variant of Crispy Fry Breading Mix. For details, please call 567-7777 loc. 155 or 0917-5852640.

A Marine travels to North Carolina after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) returns to North Carolina from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive , a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

The Lucky One is the film adaption of Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name. Film stars Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner in lead roles and is directed by Scott Hicks. Writers are Will Fetters (screenplay)and Nicholas Sparks (novel). The film is scheduled to release April 20, 2012.

Jessica Sanchez makes it to American Idol Top 7

American Idol 11 Top 7 Finalist

Filipino-American teenager Jessica Sanchez made it to the top 7 on “American Idol” last elimination round.


Sanchez impressed the judges again when she sang Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know?” for the show’s ‘80s night Thursday with Joshua Ledet.  It’s ‘80s night on American Idol Season 11. It’s not just solo performances.


The two powerhouse singers blew away the Idol triumviate of Jennifer Lopez, Steve Tyler and Randy Jackson.

               “Did an amazing job,” --- Randy Jackson said for Jessica

               “Everything you do is beautiful.” - - Steven Tyler  told to Jessica 

The bottom 3 were DeAndre Brackensick , Elise Testone and Hollie Cavanagh.

Unfortunately, the 17-year-old eight placer DeAndre Brackensick was voted off by the viewers and the judges was unable to save him.

Charice wins Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards’ 'Favorite Asian Act'

Filipina singing sensation Charice Pempengco won the "Favorite Asian Act" title at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA). Popstar singer Charice was  hailed as the Favorite Asian Act, beating other nominees including Wonder Girls of Korea, Yuna of Malaysia and Agnes Monica of Indonesia.

Based on figures released by Nickolodeon Asia, Charice dominated both the online and text votes but lost to Agnes Monica in the Twitter votes.

Taylor Swift was also one of the winners, the Big Help Award and was presented to her by US First Lady Michelle Obama.

Other entertainers who won in the Nickelodeon Kidss Choice Awards 2012 include Selena Gomez for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite TV Actress, Justin Bieber for Favorite Male Singer, Taylor Lautner for Favorite Buttkicker, and Tim Tebow for Favorite Male Athlete.

Nickelodeon’s 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) was held in a ceremony last March 31 at the University of Southern California Galen Center in Los Angeles and will air on Nickelodeon Philippines on April 14 at 10 a.m.
