The Araneta Center honors grandparents on September 8, Grandparents’ Day

Make wonderful memories with lolo and lola at Araneta Center

Our lolos and lolas hold a special place in our hearts. We never fail to be fascinated whenever they tell us stories about their youth, and we love how they dote on us even when we’ve grown out of our pigtails and sandos. They discipline us, but they also always make sure we get to indulge on life’s simple pleasures. We cannot thank them enough for being such a big part of our lives.
This Grandparents’ Day, you can turn the tables and show your grandpa and grandma your love and appreciation by spending the day bonding at the Araneta Center. On September 8, create beautiful and memorable moments with your lolo and lola at Making Memories, a special photo exhibit showcasing life’s precious moments. The photo exhibit will also include tips on how to strengthen brain power.

The event will be made more unforgettable with a special performance by balladeer Chad Borja. The Binibining Pilipinas queens, Miss Universe Philippines 2013 Ariella Arida, Binibining Pilipinas-International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda, and Binibining PIlipinas 2013 1st Runner-up Pia Wurtzbach will also grace the opening of the Making Memories Photo Exhibit.

Lolos and lolas can also get exciting freebies when they visit the exhibit and dine at the Araneta Center. On Grandparents Day weekend, September 6 to 8, lolos and lolas are entitled to a free Minute Maid drink or a special limited edition Coke Tin Tray, when they present a P150 minimum single receipt purchase from Gateway Food Express, Ali Mall Food Gallery, Farmers Food Plaza, and Dampa sa Farmers Market.

Also, free Sudoku and Crossword Puzzle booklets are to be given away for free; just have your lolo or lola present their Senior Citizen card at the exhibit area on September 8 to get this special gift pack from the Araneta Center.

The “Making Memories” exhibit will be at the Gateway Mall Activity Area for the whole month of September.

Divisoria Guide App Available for Download Starting Sept. 6

Enjoy the wonderful world of Divisoria!

From this day onward, anyone can snatch the best deals in Manila’s famous marketplace with the help of an app – and without worries of getting lost.

Divisoria Guide App for iOS, an application created by young Filipino entrepreneur from Palawan province, John Christian Yayen will be available for download starting 5pm on Friday, September 6.
The app, which will be sold at $2.99 or around P130 at the App Store is the best would-be-mobile-essential for new and aspiring entrepreneurs, and bargain hunters as they explore the country’s biggest marketplace for bargains.
Divisoria Guide App’s main feature is the offline map that covers all the streets in the crowd-drawing Divisoria market in Manila. Notes and tips on how to score a deal as well as what street merchandises to buy were also featured in the app.
As someone who already got lost in the crowded Manila area several times before, Yayen said he decided to work on the App not only to help himself but also other small business owners and ordinary consumers who might be interested to shop at Divisoria but are hesitant to do so for they have no idea where to go, not to mention the fact they are very concerned with their safety.
The 24 year-old BS Nursing graduate of the University of Santo Tomas added, “Divisoria Guide is the perfect app for everyone who would dare to visit that part of Manila especially nowadays that even search engine giant, Google has very limited information about it.”
Yayen said locals and even the Chinese businessmen who frequent the area are not even that familiar with the places that he just discovered while doing his research for this app. His almost one year of hard work made him realize that Divisoria has a lot of things to offer – from the basic commodities at very low prices that attract local and foreigners alike to as huge as the Filipino culture and history.
With this app, mobile app users can now access great information in just a click of a keypad.
With plenty of information on establishments, products, and other useful utilities, the app would help users in many ways, which include saving a lot of their time, money and effort.
Indeed, there’s no better way to explore Divisoria than by having this reliable app on one’s iOS device.
Divisoria Guide App will also be available for Android soon.

Sony Philippines Partners with The Voice of the Philippines

Sony Philippines partners with The Voice of the Philippines in support of the Campaign “Music Deserves Respect”

Sony Philippines a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, mobile communications, personal audio, digital imaging and home entertainment is an official partner of the hit reality show The Voice of the Philippines.
Bamboo Manalac
Having recently launched their “Music Deserves Respect” campaign, Sony has extended their support to the popular singing competition where Sony headphone endorser Bamboo Mañalac also serves time as a coach.

Our partnership with The Voice of the Philippines is our way of supporting Bamboo in his current project. The coaches are looking for the perfect sound that best represents the Philippines and here at Sony, we value that sound especially through our newest line of headphones, the MDR-1R and Extra Bass series. We are constantly working to deliver the purest sound quality through our products,” said CJ Deacosta, Marketing Officer for Personal Audio, Sony Philippines Inc.
The Voice of the Philippines airs every Saturday & Sunday Nights on ABS-CBN.
Having a seat on one of the four iconic chairs, Bamboo is responsible for guiding his team of aspiring music artists to hone their vocal talents so that one of them may soon be declared as “The Voice of the Philippines”. On how his current partnership with Sony and his coaching gig on The Voice work hand-in-hand, Bamboo said, “To have Sony here in The Voice of the Philippines feels just right. Sony truly understands the value of the music that artists, such as myself, create. This is the same type of music that I hope to pass on to my team so that they learn to truly understand every sound and every note in every song. When you get that and you give music the respect it deserves, that’s when real good music is made.”
Coaches and contestants alike got the chance to experience the immersive music experience from the various MDR-1R and XB series headphones made available to them.
As we search for the first VOICE of the Philippines, our partnership is perfect as we share the same advocacy of giving justice to sound and making everyone hear music the way they’re supposed to be heard,“ added Deacosta.
