LG Electronics (LG) today released its first-ever Super Bowl commercial featuring blockbuster actor Liam Neeson and its new LG SIGNATURE OLED TV.

LIAM NEESON TRANSPORTS TV TECHNOLOGY FROM THE FUTURE IN LG’S FIRST-EVER SUPER BOWL COMMERCIAL

With Powerhouse Filmmakers Ridley and Jake Scott at the Helm,
LG’s Super Bowl 50 Spot Delivers LG OLED TV as New Era in TV Technology

In advance of the big game, LG Electronics (LG) today released its first-ever Super Bowl commercial featuring blockbuster actor Liam Neeson and its new LG SIGNATURE OLED TV.
The commercial — father-son collaboration with Ridley Scott, executive producer, and Jake Scott, director — showcases LG’s commitment to bringing the future of television to consumers today.

The spot will focus on how LG brings future-forward home entertainment innovations to consumers today with LG’s revolutionary OLED TV technology.

It is centered on LG’s newest flagship OLED TV, which delivers OLED technology’s superior picture quality with perfect blacks, unparalleled contrast and more colors on an elegant, stunningly slim glass panel. The uniquePicture-on-Glass design aesthetic is only possible with OLED technology.

“It’s a dynamic short film,” said renowned director and the commercial’s executive producer, Sir Ridley Scott. “It’s about the race to be on the vanguard of innovation and to be able to create tomorrow’s technology.”

Neeson’s character is “the man from the future” and is tasked with releasing the future of television to the world for the masses to enjoy today, much like LG has continued to do through its pioneering innovation in the OLED TV category.

“My character is an enigmatic man from the future who has traveled back to the present day on a very important mission,” said Neeson. “He represents that inner appeal, that curiosity we have to find out about the future.”

“The objective was to create a world you’ve never seen before or a world that was unique and specific to the OLED,” said Jake Scott, who directed the LG commercial.

LG’s commercial draws upon the expertise and creativity of two Hollywood heavy-hitters, Ridley and Jake Scott, who aren’t just known for their award-winning films but also their acclaimed commercials. Each has already left their mark on the big game with previous successes including Ridley’s iconic 1984 commercial for Macintosh and Jake’s top performing ad, Budweiser’s Lost Dog.

Adding to his ever-growing resume of entertainment gold, this will be Neeson’s second Super Bowl commercial following his famous Clash of Clans spot from last season, which was named the most viewed Super Bowl ad on YouTube. Neeson and Ridley Scott last worked together in the action-packed 2005 film, Kingdom of Heaven, and the latest LG commercial is promising to be just as electric.

“Ridley and Jake are an amazing creative team,” said Neeson. “You know you’re in good hands.”

The award-winning LG SIGNATURE OLED TV, which was recently named Best TV Product by theOfficial Best of CES® 2016 Awards presented by Engadget, is defined not only by its amazing picture quality, but also its aesthetic design. With a sophisticated OLED panel featuring an impossibly thin depth (measuring about one-tenth of an inch) with a translucent glass back and a powerful, forward-facing sound bar speaker system, it is an outstanding feat of modern engineering and design.

“At first I was struck by its form. It’s just beautifully thin, clean and simple and elegant,” said Ridley Scott.

The flagship 77- and 65-inch class LG SIGNATURE OLED TVs feature exceptional contrast and color as well as 4K Ultra HD resolution and high dynamic range (HDR) capability. Certified as UHD Premium by the UHD Alliance, the series supports the industry-standard HDR formats established by the world’s leading broadcasters, film studios and consumer electronics manufacturers, including HDR10 and DolbyVision™ technology, making them among the first to be compatible with all formats.

Unlike LCD displays where the LED backlight can only locally dim sections of the screen, each pixel on an OLED panel can switch on and off independently. As a result, OLED TVs render crisp, vibrant colors and rich shadow details, even when bright objects are directly next to deep, dark areas — unlike LCD TVs which have a halo effect from light bleeding.

Led by the dramatic new LG SIGNATURE models featured in the commercial, LG’s 2016 OLED TV lineup features four series with eight total models, each with LG’s new webOS 3.0 smart TV platform, featuring advanced new features that make finding and switching between LG’s expanded content options — including broadcast TV, streaming services and external devices – simple and fast.

LG V10—Versatile and Visionary: LG Electronics unravels the wraps on the new LG V10, pioneering multimedia features never before seen on a smartphone

LG Mobile wows with its new powerful phablet featuring Dual Front Cameras, Multi-View Window, and Video Manual Mode all encased in a durable silicon back cover with stainless steel sides.
A few months after LG Electronics unveiled their flagship for 2015, there had been news spreading around of a powerful iteration of the LG G4—the LG G4 Pro. However, LG slams the rumours shut when they introduced the first of its V-Series phones—the LG V10.

“The LG V10 is LG’s newest phablet that is designed to provide the user with a rich multimedia experience,” says LG Philippines Vice President for Mobile, Jay Won. “The V10 surpasses most multimedia features that today’s smartphones possess and are enhanced for optimal performance, maximizing the creativity of today’s social media and tech-savvy consumers.”

Consumers can look forward to V10’s distinctive new features such its Second Screen, Dual Front Cameras, and its Manual Video mode—another first for the mobile tech giant.

The V10 will be the first LG smartphone to feature a Second Screen, an inset display set above the V10’s main 5.7 QHD IPS Quantum Display. The Second Screen works independently from the main screen and has the “always on” option. Apart from displaying weather, time, date, and battery icon, the Second Screen can also function as a dedicated display for shortcuts of your favourite apps for easy access.

This year LG surprised the world with the impressive camera feature of their 2015 flagship LG G4 by unveiling its 16-megapixel rear shooter with F1.8 aperture lens and OIS 2.0 paired with Manual Photo Mode where users can manually adjust the settings much like with a professional SLR camera. This remains the same with the V10 but it will also adapt the ingenuity of Manual Mode to video where user can adjust white balance, ISO levels, as well as audio reception.

The V10 takes selfies to another level by installing 5-megapixel Dual Front Cameras with separate lenses for 80-degree close range selfies or 120-degree wide angle selfies to accommodate larger groups of people in the frame. The wide angle lens on the V10 makes use of intricate software algorithm that combines images from the two separate lenses, eliminating the need for monopods and selfie sticks altogether and achieving the perfect groufie in gatherings.

Another first for LG which can be found in the V10 is the Multi-view Mode which can simultaneously utilize all three of V10s cameras—dual front and rear cameras—to capture up to four different frames.

All this comes wrapped in a design that utilizes high-grade stainless steel and a durable silicone skin to make the V10 one of the rare smart phones to pass drop tests for shock conducted by an independent third party.

The LG V10 will be available in the local market very soon and will come at a retail price of Php 37,990.

LG Electronics and ABS-CBN bring the ‘Fight of the Century’ to more Filipinos

As the most-talked-about battle planted a milestone in world history, global technology innovator LG Electronics partnered with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation to let more Filipinos witness this momentous event live.

LG introduces first-of-its kind Dual Door-in-Door refrigerator

Global technology innovator LG Electronics continues to expand its line-up of premium and practical refrigerators as it launches another first in the market, the Dual Door-in-DoorTM (DID) refrigerator.

Dual Door-in-Door™ makes use of LG’s award-winning door-inside-refrigerator-door concept, doubling convenience over its single Door-in-Door™ counterparts. Powered by LG’s Inverter Linear Compressor, the refrigerator is energy efficient, runs quietly, and serves as a durable, long-lasting addition to any kitchen.

A beautiful display piece

Encased in a diamond black stainless steel finishing with a cutting-edge touch display system, this sophisticated appliance sports two mini-doors, each seamlessly mounted on top of the unit’s main top doors, allowing owners to store and conveniently locate frequently consumed food and drinks. The refrigerator comes in an expertly crafted design which is aesthetically pleasing and ideal for any kitchen and home interior.

Smart and functional

The Dual DID feature also allows users to open the refrigerator without exposing its entire interior, thus minimizing the loss of cold air, which is now even made crisper with the upgraded Hygiene Fresh+TM air purification system. The right Door-in-Door™ compartment is accessible from the outside with the simple push of a button allowing it to be used as a ‘family space’. The left Door-in-Door™ compartment can be opened by a handle at the bottom of the door and serves as a designated ‘cooking space’, ideal for storing essential cooking ingredients such as previously prepared vegetables, condiments and sauces.

Accessible through both the Door-in-Door™ as well as the main door, the incredibly convenient Tilting Basket is also located within the ‘cooking space’ on the left side of the refrigerator. Both Door-in-Door™ compartments are also equipped with Moving Baskets, enabling users to easily adjust the height of the internal compartments as they see fit.

The area at the bottom of the main compartment is inefficient dead space in most refrigerators. However, LG makes use of this dead space through its groundbreaking Extra Space™ compartment which opens up a new area in the refrigerator ideal for storing small food items such as eggs, cheese and sliced deli meats. Moreover, with the Folding and Sliding Shelves, storing food items of any shape or size has never been more convenient. LG’s comprehensive organization system also extends to the freezer section’s EZ Ice Maker and Easy Pull Drawer that is easy to open and can safely support heavy items.

LG Philippines Home Appliances Vice President Youngmin Chae said, “LG always wants to be at the forefront of technology that is responsive to consumers’ need. We don’t stop at one innovation, and the LG Dual DID refrigerator is a testament to that.”

Well-designed, convenient and energy efficient, the LG Dual DID refrigerator which retails for P159,995.00 encapsulates all that is needed from a central home appliance.

LG G4 is the most ambitious smartphone to date

LG invites consumers to see and feel greatness in a smartphone

LG Electronics globally unveils the most highly anticipated LG G4 smartphone in six cities including New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul. Approximately 1,000 guests around the world gathered to witness the successor of the LG G3 which excelled in all sales charts and industry recognitions. Among the first users of the LG G4 will be 4,000 lucky customers who will receive the coveted smartphone as part of the company’s largest-ever consumer experience campaign.

Unrivalled design

The LG G4 is available in handcrafted, full grain leather in six beautiful colors. The vegetable tanned leather is not only environmentally friendly but also luxurious, using genuine leather instead of the usual faux material that other smartphones use. Other material options for the G4 rear cover are pure Ceramic White with 3D patterns, artisan-forged Metallic Gray and lustrous Shiny Gold.

The comfortable elegance of the LG G4 is a refreshing change from the uniformly flat, full metal designs that have been become standard across the industry. The LG G4’s design is defined by the Slim Arc, which runs along its entire body, highlighted by a display with a subtle curvature. More than just a design accent, Slim Arc offers more durability than a flat smartphone in face-down drops and gives the smartphone a more comfortable and secure feel in the hand.

Superb visual experience

LG designed the 16-megapixel camera in the LG G4 to capture stunning images even under less than ideal lighting conditions. The camera module features an industry-first wide F1.8 aperture lens that allows 80 percent more light to reach the sensor. LG improved low-light performance even further with OIS 2.0, which doubles the performance of the OIS+ by expanding the range of image stabilization from one degree to two degrees on the X- and Y-axis and adding a third axis for the first time.

Just like DSLRs, the LG G4’s Manual Mode allows experienced photographers to exercise more artistic expression by directly controlling the focus, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation and white balance for every shot. Advanced photographers can also save their photos in RAW format, in addition to JPEG, for more precise editing with no loss of details.

The advanced camera in the LG G4 is complemented by Color Spectrum Sensor (CSS), the first feature of its kind to find its way into a smartphone. CSS improves color accuracy by precisely reading the RGB values of the ambient light in a scene, as well as the infrared light reflected from objects. And for selfies good enough to frame, LG included an industry-leading eight-megapixel front-facing camera for sharp, detailed portraits and group shots.

Taking a quantum leap in display technology, the LG G4 is the first smartphone to use LG Display’s new 5.5-inch IPS Quantum Display, which offers 20 percent greater color reproduction, 25 percent improvement in brightness and 50 percent greater contrast. This new display is calibrated for DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives) standards for color expression, championed by top Hollywood studios.

With the LG G4, the higher quality display doesn’t come at the expense of battery life. The G4 is equipped with a high-capacity 3,000mAh removable battery, a rare feature in today’s high-end smartphones. Combined with the benefits offered by the snappy yet energy-thrifty Qualcomm®Snapdragon™ 808 processor, the LG G4 has no trouble getting through a full day of normal use.

“We are thrilled to globally introduce the outstanding LG G4, letting consumers see and feel optimal greatness in a smartphone,” LG Mobile Philippines Vice President Jay Won said. “From the design to the camera to the display to the user experience, the LG G4 is undoubtedly the most ambitious phone LG has ever created, promising world-class performance and no disappointment.”

Greatness Awaits What we know about the LG G4

The path to greatness is at hand as global technology innovator LG Electronics is set to globally launch its much-awaited flagship LG G4 on April 28 and 29 of this year.

With G4’s predecessor, LG G3, bagging the “Best Smartphone Award” at the Mobile World Congress just a month ago, LG has its fans gripping at the edge of their seats, leaving only subtle hints on what the newest smartphone superstar has in store.

Based on the global teaser that LG released, the G4 is set to change the game aesthetically. The invite creates the impression that the G4 will drive away from its signature sleek metallic look and advance to the sophisticated feel of stitched leather.

What can also be taken from the global invite is that LG G4’s rear camera will be the first to sport an aperture level of f/1.8, the lowest aperture set for any mobile device to date.

For the aspiring and avid phone-tographers, this innovative technology will let the lens take in more light, leading to even more stunning picture quality and crystal-clear photos even when taking action shots or moving photos any time of the day.

This is backed up by the leading global components and materials manufacturer LG Innotek, claiming that this is the most advanced technology available for any smartphone out in the market today.

With the countdown left to days until the global unveiling of the G4, LG launches the official teaser video online giving the world a sneak peek of greatness that has yet to come.
