“BELIEVE” Maja Salvador ! The first OPM album to be mastered for iTunes

Maja Salvador will be leaving a huge footprint on the music scene with her debut album “Believe”. And it is not loosely said so. As apart from the album being certified Gold last June (only 2 months after the official release) and obtaining an official Vevo channel on YouTube with views summing up to almost 6 million, the album takes the cake off the plate of its contemporaries once again by becoming the first OPM album to be mastered for iTunes.

A “mastered for iTunes” song is a digitally downloadable track on iTunes, taking legs of optimization to make every bit of it in the highest definition possible and as close to how artists and their production team intend every song to be heard as possible, while keeping the music file size down for portability and for more efficient digital distribution.

The calibre that “Believe” has set for itself makes it well-worthy of this iTunes mastery. As it geared away from traditional instrumentation and instead adopted modern production, it has become the most ideal vehicle to drive our eardrums to crave newness from the OPM department. All the while the album never lost sight of what is really important: it’s an OPM record. Note that all songs were penned in Filipino to butter up Maja’s new-fashioned Pinay image interbred with pop-house-R&B sound that could run parallel with American Top 40 tracks.

This leap of Maja’s music to verge into the digital age is a gutsy deal in changing the game face of the local music industry not just in the manner of distribution and consumption of music, but also in its production and ultimately, the artistry. Now you can listen in hi-def to the album with crystal-clear vocals, smoother strums and deeper thumps as if each of the tracks just got off the LASIK chair.

A milestone like this wasn’t far from Maja’s horizons to begin with. The way she wants things to happen in her music career is to take the qualitative side of the road, obvious in the production of her songs and the videos for them: never dry and juiceless.

Maja believed that “Believe” would go places, and the album took the entire industry with it.

There’s no denying it. “Believe” is a key part of OPM music history now.

The mastered for iTunes “Believe” contains the original tracklist:

KILIG

HALIKANA (feat. Abra)

WALA NA BANG PAG-IBIG

DAHAN-DAHAN

URONG-SULONG

BUONG GABI (feat. Project Pinas)

Christina Perri , The Head or Heart Tour - Live in Manila 2015

In matters of love, should you rely on your heart or your head? This is the question Christina Perri posed as she began writing her second album, a collection of cathartic songs that seek to reconcile how we make decisions in love and life.

Midas Promotions are proud to announce that Christina Perri will be performing at Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 5th 2015!

The singer’s first album, lovestrong., grappled with the aftermath of a breakup, signaling Perri as an honest, genuine artist ready to share her emotional journey with her fans. That disc, released in 2011, was bolstered by the success of Perri’s single “Jar of Hearts” and led the musician into nine tours over 27 months. Her final show supporting lovestrong. took place on October 9, 2012 at Los Angeles’s iconic Hollywood Bowl with Jason Mraz. Two weeks later, Perri penned the first song for head or heart, her second album.

“The thing about me is that I don’t know how not to write,” Perri says. “Because I continue to fall in and out of love, I find myself often at those massive highs and lows. I wrote ideas for album two but I never called it album two. Those were songs that were getting me through tour. But when I came home I wrote a song called ‘Trust’ and I had an epiphany. I’ve tried trusting my heart, I’ve tried trusting my head and I feel as though I’ve chosen wrong each time. I knew the album had to be called head or heart and half the songs would be heart songs and half would be head songs. That was the moment when it began for creatively and conceptually.”

Perri spent two months writing and demoing on her own toward the end of 2012 before spending several months in early 2013 writing with nearly 30 co-writers. She said yes to any collaboration, refusing to get in her own creative way (“I wanted to play a game called ‘Yes,’ the singer explains). Perri emerged from these ongoing sessions in Spring with nearly 50 possible songs for head or heart. The musician knew immediately which to take into the studio, mostly because instinctually she knew which songs fit together to create the overall picture she wanted the album to paint. A big factor in the song selection was also a concern for how they would translate onstage, particularly since Perri toured so extensively on her debut.

The singer chose 16 to record and flew to London to meet with producer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran). Perri initially intended to lay down one track with Gosling, but ended up staying at his farm in Bagshot, U.K. for the summer to record in his “tiny shack of a studio.” The pair crafted nine of the album’s 13 songs together and finished recording back in Los Angeles in August. There Perri also recorded with Butch Walker, John Hill and Martin Johnson. Her final number, “I Don’t Want to Break,” was co-written with fun.’s Jack Antonoff, who co-produced the track with Hill in New York at famed Electric Lady Studios.

The album opens with “Trust,” a searching, evocative number that poses the album’s ultimate question. For Perri, “trust” is the question and all the songs that follow are her possible answers. The haunting, propulsive “Sea of Lovers” began as a poem that Perri transformed into a song while “Human,” the album’s buoyant first single, surges with inspirational urgency. head or heart closes with sincere poignancy, on a track called “I Believe” that Perri wrote for an event thrown by charity To Write Love On Her Arms. The song, largely based around affirmations, went viral after her performance at the event and wrote itself onto the album. The song – and the album itself – aptly concludes with the line “This is not the end of me/This is just the beginning.”

“I knew the only way to make my second album work was to tell the truth,” Perri says. “I’m not pretending I’ve figured it out. I’m bringing everyone along for the journey of my heart and my head and these songs are what happened, but I don’t know the way to trust both. I think that’s the answer – to trust both – but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. The way I’ve stayed authentic is by being completely honest. The healing for me comes from playing songs live. There are stitches that don’t get stitched until I do that. I look forward to seeing what these songs do emotionally for me in the next few years.”

These songs, in many ways, feel like a logical extension of lovestrong., an album that first allowed Perri to open her heart to the world. The singer’s career bounded forward after Perri performed her triple-platinum single “Jar of Hearts” on So You Think You Can Dance. She quickly found herself signed to Atlantic Records, creating her debut album, a bittersweet collection of songs about love and loss thereof. Produced by GRAMMY®-winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, My Morning Jacket) – lovestrong. entered the SoundScan/Billboard 200 among the top 5 upon its initial release, while also proving an unqualified international sensation with top 5 success in Australia and Ireland as well as top 10 sales in Canada and the United Kingdom. Perri was named as iTunes’ “Breakthrough Pop Artist of 2011.” This was followed by the 4x-platinum single “A Thousand Years” which was featured on Summit Entertainment/Chop Shop/Atlantic’s
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn –Part 1&2-Original Motion Picture Soundtracks.

It was a whirlwind and it’s brought Perri to where she is now. The singer has embraced the platform success brings and spends any possible moment involved with several nonprofit and charity organizations. She remains deeply involved with To Write Love On Her Arms, which helps people dealing with suicidal thoughts, and visits children’s hospitals to spend time with kids grappling with depression. She’s also on the board of the Voice Health Institute, an organization she became involved with after going through vocal chord surgery in 2011.

head or heart asks a question and offers a possible responses to that query. It seeks to understand the reality of love and how we process it. It contains thoughts we’ve all thought, articulated more clearly in Perri’s strikingly compelling music and powerhouse vocals. For Perri, this album reflects where she is right now, what she’s experiencing in the present and resonates with her genuine truth. Mostly, though, it opens her to the chapter.

“All my dreams came true when touring on lovestrong.,” the singer says. “And now I’ve dreamt up all new dreams. I’m excited most because I don’t know what’s going to happen. Three years ago I was working at a café so who knows where I’ll be in three more years. I have this album and everything else is a surprise.”

Michael Bublé – Live in Manila 2015

Michael Bublé – Live in Manila 2015 presented by Wilbros Live with Dainty Group International, to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 31st 2015.

Michael had several hit singles that Filipinos love, including “Home”, “Sway”, “Everything”, “Haven’t Met You Yet”, and the 2013 smash song, “It’s A Beautiful Day.”

Michael Bublé, the four-time Grammy award winner and Canadian superstar, is returning to Manila as part of his World Tour.

It’s been more than 10 years since Michael’s last concert in Manila and he is very excited to come back and serenade Filipino fans with his much loved, chart-topping songs.

Michael Bublé has been selling out Arenas across the globe, making this show one of the year’s hottest concert tickets. In London, he was originally slated to do six nights at the London’s O2 Arena, but had to add four extra shows when the first run sold-out in just five minutes!

“No one can accuse Michael Bublé of being anything but a crowd-pleaser,” The Telegraph raved, adding that the Canadian superstar “had the audience shrieking in appreciation”.

“This feel-good show was complete. Maybe nice guys don’t finish last, after all,” the London Evening Standard concluded.

Besides Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand, Michael will now extend his fifth concert tour and biggest ever to Asia – to include stops in Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Seoul, Tokyo, and for the first time ever, Shanghai.

But, of course, it’s all about the music, with the tour celebrating Michael’s latest chart-topping album.

“My new record is about love, happiness and fun,” Michael says.

Released in April 2013, To Be Loved debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200, becoming the crooner's fourth consecutive number-one album on the chart. Produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock, To Be Loved features the hit single “It’s A Beautiful Day” – co-written by Michael – plus his interpretations of the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody”, Elvis Presley’s “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?” and Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got A Friend In Me”. Reese Witherspoon also joins him for a delicious version of “Something Stupid”.

“I think it’s the best album I’ve ever made,” Michael says. “I know every artist on earth says that when their new album is coming out but, really, this time it’s true. I swear. You can ask my mother.”

Michael’s Christmas album was in the first place on the Billboard 200 for the final four weeks of 2011 and the first week of 2012, totaling five weeks atop the chart. It also made the Top 5 in the United Kingdom. With this, Christmas became his third consecutive number-one album on the chart.

Michael Bublé is always striving to make better albums and do better shows.

“Do not think I take my success these last 10 years for granted. I was anything but an overnight sensation, which inspires me to deliver big time for my fans – maybe even make some new ones this time out.

“Trust me, there’s no sitting back, no phoning in for me.”

The multi-awarded singer adds “I just love getting in front of people. It’s so important to be in touch with your audience. They’ve paid their money; I want them to be entertained. If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just to take them away.”

Tickets to Michael Bublé – Live in Manila 2015 will be on-sale on November 14, 2014 via www.smtickets.com or call 470-2222 or 374-22222.

Rico Blanco, newest endorser of Valda Pastilles, Soothes & Cools

Rico Blanco
Rico Blanco is one of the most talented musicians in the Philippines. As we all know, he is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur.

And now, the newest endorser of Valda Pastilles, Rico Blanco was presented to a media launch event held this Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Alphonse Bistro in Pasig.

Valda Pastilles, a green, conical-shaped, chewy pastilles, has been known for soothing and cooling throats for more than a century now.

Believe it or not, your throat is as hardworking as you are. It also gets stressed and experiences a lot of wear and tear, especially when your profession requires you to sing or speak every second of every day or night. So as much as you want time to relax your mind and body, your throat should also be given time for some R and R.

Rico is every inch a rock star, oozing with a cool persona. His voice alone holds a refreshing power that can captivate the hearts of every Filipino with just the first note, much like how Valda Pastilles gives instant cooling sensation in every chew. No wonder Rico is the perfect face for the brand.

During the launch event, the new Valda Pastilles TV commercial was revealed, which showcased no less than Rico and the brand’s single that he wrote and composed entitled, “Time For You”.

With the brand and Rico’s collaboration, they have created a fresh song that leaves nothing but cool vibes.

J Lo Strikes a Pose & Opens Up on Love for Elle's October Issue

An American actress, author, fashion designer, dancer, producer, singer. and mother-of-two, Jennifer Lopez  graces the cover for the October 2014 issue of ELLE.

Photographed by Txema Yeste in the breathtaking Paris location of Château de Voisins, J.Lo dazzles in Versace gowns, with accessories by Laura Lee Jewellery and Lock & Co Hatters.

In the eye-opening interview, J Lo opens up about looking for the One. her life's mistakes and future plans.

‘I still believe in love. The nirvana man, he’s out there somewhere. But you just have to work at it. You have to work at everything.'

"Everybody has seen that I make mistakes. I have to look at what I do wrong. I rush in, I get swept up, I ignore the signs. But so many of us are guilty of these things. Each time it goes wrong it’s hard. I get really hurt but I have to let myself go."

'Every single album I have ever made is about love. But I am not going to give up. What did I do? What can I learn?’ And as hard and as hurtful as things get, I want to believe I will be able to go one step higher. I’ve got to hope that if I keep going I will eventually get it right."

"Is it worth making mistakes, in my case in public, and trying to figure out what you do and balance everything and constantly grow?"

"I'd say yes. None of it is easy, none of it is safe – you are going to get big highs and you are going to get big lows, so it’s not for everyone – but that's exciting. You just need to believe in yourself."

"All of Me" An Evening with JOHN LEGEND in Manila

John Legend with his All Of Me Tour in Manila on Friday, September 26th, 8PM at the Araneta Coliseum.

Everyone who comes across the song “All of Me” is inevitably bound to sing the song that peaked #1 on the iTunes and the Billboard Hot 100. With its saccharine lyrics and catchy melody, fastened with John Legend’s magnetic and powerful voice, “All of Me” effectively captivated the hearts of many and rendered itself a timeless love song. This September 26, critically acclaimed and multi-awarded singer-songwriter, John Legend, comes to Manila for his much-awaited “All Of Me World Tour”.

The platinum-selling R&B/soul artist sold seven million albums worldwide, and his magnificent works garnered him an outstanding award repertoire composed of nine Grammy Awards, three Soul Train Awards, the BET Award for Best New Artist, and the special Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. John Legend, a graduate of University of Pennsylvania who studied English and African American literature, showed his versatility by engaging in a wide variety of musical activities while in college. Also during college, singer-songwriter and rapper Lauryn Hill hired John Legend to play piano on her track called “Everything Is Everything”.

Soon, he played shows around the Philadelphia area and eventually expanded his audience base to Washington D.C., New York, Boston, and Atlanta. He was introduced to then up-and-coming hip-hop artist Kanye West after college, who immediately signed him to his G.O.O.D. Music imprint and appointed him to sing vocal hooks on some of his music. Through a series of similar collaborations with established and well-esteemed artists, John Legend’s career increased in momentum; contributing his brilliant talent and exceptional vocals to a noteworthy list of chart-topping hits such as Kanye West's "All of the Lights," Jay-Z's "Encore" and back-up vocals on Alicia Keys' 2003 song, "You Don't Know My Name". The sought-after collaborator also worked with Sergio Mendes, Mary J. Blige, and The Black Eyed Peas, among many others.

Get Lifted, his debut album, was released in December of 2004 through Columbia Records. It was this critically acclaimed album that spawned John Legend’s first hit single, “Ordinary People” and attained multiple Grammy Awards in 2006, including Best R&B Album, Best New Artist and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Once Again, the follow-up album in 2006, was a platinum seller, which earned him another Grammy, Best Male R&B Performance, for his single “Heaven”, and included collaborations with Kanye West, will.i.am and Raphael Saadiq. “Green Light” featuring Andre 3000 was the frontrunner of his next album, Evolver, in 2008. In the same year, he sang in a video for Barack Obama entitled “Yes We Can”, produced by will.i.am. In 2010, he collaborated with the Roots for an album entitled Wake Up! which won the Grammy for Best R&B Album a year later. The musical genius is truly endowed an eclectic intellectual scope. In 2012, he was granted an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Howard University. He also became a judge for a music show called Duets alongside American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles, and Robin Thicke. Just last year, he released his fourth studio album, Love in the Future, produced by himself, Kanye West, and Dave Tozer. The album has been intricately woven by romance and heartfelt, excellently produced music. The lead single of Love in the Future was “Who Do We Think We Are” featuring Rick Ross, followed by “Made to Love”.

From the album arose his first number one single in his career — “All of Me”. It is the highest charting song from the album and topped the iTunes charts and the Billboard Hot 100. Love in the Future is solid proof that John Legend’s unfaltering, soulful voice never fails to provoke emotions and induce chills to listeners.

Making soulful music laced with prodigious piano playing and poignant song writing does not sufficiently encompass what John Legend does. The multi-award winning musician has worked to make a difference in the lives of others as well. In 2007, he launched the Show Me Campaign (ShowMeCampaign.org), an initiative that focuses on education as a key to break the cycle of poverty. The 2010 BET Humanitarian of the Year award, the 2009 CARE Humanitarian Award for Global Change, the 2009 Bishop John T. Walker Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award from Africare and the 2011 Harvard Foundation Artist of the Year Award recognize Legend's efforts and leadership in this arena. John sits on the boards of The Education Equality Project, Teach for America, Stand for Children and the Harlem Village Academies and co-chairs the Harlem Village Academies’ National Leadership Board.

Don’t miss the 9x Grammy Award winner – John Legend with his All Of Me Tour in Manila on Friday, September 26th, 8PM at the Araneta Coliseum.

The award-winning Fil-Am play “Flipzoids” comes home

The award-winning Fil-Am play “Flipzoids” with outstanding performers Becca Godinez, Ellen D. Williams and Maxwel Corpuz and directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera will be held on July 17, 18 and 19, 2014 at the Music Museum, Greenhills San Juan City.

“Flipzoids” tells the tale of three Filipino Americans who search for connections and a shared reality in Orange County, a place where “better” is always up for debate.

Set on a beach in Southern California, “Flipzoids” is a funny and highly moving story about three Filipino immigrants in America navigating through the shifting landscape of home, desire, loneliness and belonging. The play examines what it means to be an outsider, to be Filipino and/or American, to be a hybrid.

Redford (Maxwel S. Corpuz) a young man who arrived from the Philippines as a child with his parents but now lives very much alone and spends his time in public restrooms in search of relationships to fill a void in his identity. Instead, he finds connection through a chance meeting with Aying, an older Filipina on a beach. It is through Aying that Redford discovers his culture.

Aying’s daughter, Vangi/Evangelina (Ellen D. Williams) , is a nurse who holds all of American culture in a tight embrace and who diligently memorizes the dictionary to sound smarter - more American. She is in awe of the glamour of upscale shopping malls and wants so badly to blend in…to “melt into the soup,” in an attempt to forget about her past in the Philippines.

Then there’s her mother, Aying (Becca Godinez), struggles with understanding a daughter to whom she has become an embarrassment. Aying, fresh off the boat and not buying any of it. Aying refuses to relinquish any of the culture and tradition of their homeland. Instead, she becomes a story teller.  She tells stories of her homeland and clings to traditions and rituals that make her feel like she belongs someplace, laughs heartily and cares deeply while imparting bits of wisdom through her folk tales.

Aying is the link between Vangie and Redford and their shared cultural memory. Together, they search to understand their identity in their new American world.

FLIPZOIDS received its world premiere on October 4, 1996 by Ma-Yi Theater Company, Ralph B. Peña, Artistic Director, Jorge Z. Ortoll, Executive Director.

Directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, Artistic Director for Playwrights’ Arena in Hollywood, CA. This this lyrical, highly theatrical work is brought to life by a trio of outstanding performers :
Becca Godinez, Ellen D. Williams and Maxwel Corpuz.

Becca Godinez is a seasoned singer, songwriter, director and actress. Her career has taken her through numerous musical avenues, from country to musical theatre and everything else in between.

Becca has produced several concerts tackling a gamut of responsibilities from director, set and lighting designer, and artist. Her efforts won for her a “Performer of the Year” award bestowed upon her by a committee of Asian/American media, business and entertainment members.

After numerous appearances across countries, Becca ached for rest, anonymity and introspection, and turned away from public life. Once in a while she lent her talent to meaningful projects, but mostly, she remained quiet. Ever the artist though, she was unable to stay away from her need to create and returned to songwriting.

2012 was a comeback year. Becca sang at Dodger Stadium, performed at the Hollywood Bowl and the “Jazzmopolitan” concert held at the Ford Amphitheatre. After a 31 year hiatus, Becca’s portrayal of Aying in “Flipzoids”.
Becca Godinez during the media conference held at the Amici Restaurant, Greenhills San Juan, June 27, 2014 (Photo:myrns@roman))

Becca was cast as the lead in “Flipzoids” a dramedy in Los Angeles for which she gained rave reviews. She auditioned for the role not knowing how she would do since it had been 30 years since her last with Repertory Philippines. Five months after that audition, she received a call to say that she landed the lead and went on to perform the role of Aying, a 72-year old woman of amazing substance. She was onstage at the Los Angeles Theatre Center during the entire month of October in 2012. The bug bit and it bit hard. “I didn’t think that I would ever return to the theatre”, she said. Today, as a result of that 2012 experience onstage, Becca is wearing a new hat – that of theatrical producer.

On July 17, 18 and 19th, Becca will be producing in Manila, the play, “Flipzoids” at the Music Museum in Greenhills. She is bringing to the stage the original actors and the director from the Los Angeles production. Asked why she chose this as her first project, she said that the award-winning play, written by a FilAm, Ralph B. Pena – is a great story that needs to be seen and experienced by all Filipinos. This is a laugh out loud, cry in pain, know our culture kind of experience and she is honored to produce it. It is her hope that many will come to delight in the experience and enjoy the production.

Becca recognizes that God is the source of all blessings – and she finds true peace in giving back to God what He so bountifully gives to her. Wherever the journey takes her, she is grateful for everything that she has been able to give and to receive. Onward the journey goes.

ELLEN D. WILLIAMS

Originally from Los Angeles, Ellen D. Williams has been seen on both the stage and screen in the US. She is best known for her role as Patrice on the hit TV show HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.

She was first seen professionally in Boston, Massachusetts with Massachusetts Rep’s MOBY DICK: A WHALE OF A TALE where she worked with world renowned producer, Cameron Mackintosh. Her favorite stage role has been playing Fil-Am character “Ruby” in RUBY, TRAGICALLY ROTUND written by Fil-Am playwright Boni B. Alvarez. For that role she received a Los Angeles Weekly nomination for Best Actress. She also has played Fil-Am character Farrah Legazpi in two other Alvarez plays, DUSTY DE LOS SANTOS and BLOODLETTING.

Ellen has loved the opportunities to play strong Filipino characters. Other favorite regional roles include IXNAY at East West Players, THE BOOK OF LIZ at The Garage Theatre, THE ENLIGHTENMENT at The Carpenter Center and THROWING RUBIES at the Stella Adler Theatre. She has also toured throughout the Northwest and West Coast regions of the US doing educational theatre with such companies as the GAP Theatre Company and South Coast Rep.

She is a proud member of the American talent unions – Actors Equity and SAG/AFTRA.

AWARDED:
“LA NEW PLAY IMPRESARIO OF THE YEAR”
La Stage Times, Dec 2010
“HELEN”

“Rivera’s production swerves…between consequences-of-war pathos and high comedy, usually defaulting to the latter.” - BACK STAGE

“This is the most interesting Getty Villa production since…Aristophanes’ Peace in 2009. Both Peace and Helen had their roots in LA artists, which perhaps helped tailor the material more precisely to LA audiences. Also both of these plays have been seldom seen in other versions. – LA STAGE TIMES.

KYLA shares her journey to home through new album via Polyeast Records

“I have come from a long journey to finally release a new album again and I can say, it feels to great to be back. This new album brings so much excitement and fulfillment in my career that now I have a family of my own, I’m back to what I love doing the most—singing and recording songs for my fellow music lovers." ---  Kyla

KYLA shares her journey to home through her new album titled “Journey” is out in the market via PolyEast Records.

After a long break from releasing music, the country’s R&B princess Kyla is back full force with a stronger R&B sound and a passion for showing emotions through her music.

Yesterday, May 15, 2014, she shared many things about her life during our exclusive blogcon (Bloggers conference) held at the Polyeast Records office in the Quezon Avenue.

Her debut in 2000 up to this date have talked so much celebrated as one of the most uniquely talented artists of her generation, but the new album “Journey” via PolyEast Records proves that she still holds the title.

A jazzy song written by Francis Salazar & Jungee Marcelo, included in the first single of the album, titled “Kunwa-kunwari Lang,” is the song debuted on radio last month and has been receiving much praise for her support as it peaked #1 on RX 93.1 daily survey. Likewise to its digital format, the song entered the iTunes chart at number one upon release and is now available on www.spinner.ph.

While she took something of a risk by breaking from her norm, this 6-track project finds Kyla working with a formidable slate of songwriting and production heavyweights, including Jungee Marcelo, Francis Salazar, Yosha Honasan and Jay-R.

“The title kind of speaks for itself, my journey of life experiences. My last album came out in 2010 and here we are in 2014, and there are a lot of things have happened, obviously. There are a lot of changes that I need to embrace as to the music industry and battle of producing quality songs. And people have seen me go through so many things in the public, whether it's my personal life or my career,” Kyla shared.

As the album reclaims her prominence, our 33-year old R&B chanteuse brings a range of styles from “Dito Na Lang”, a throwback to the singer’s glory days or much likened to her hit “Hanggang Ngayon”; “I Got This”, a song that mirrors many of her R&B hits, with her co-writer Yosha Honasan; and “Atin ang Walang Hanggan” on slow-motion which emphasizes the album’s firm R&B roots. When Kyla sang a song written for her by Brian McKnight titled "My Heart" during her Sunday show, it has since become her wedding song which is included in the album in a duet with McKnight.

Kyla is now married to PBA cager Rich Alvarez with a one-year-old son.

That part of my life plays a big role of this journey. Especially on how I see life in a much brighter perspective and how love has defined itself for me” Kyla says as she shared her anecdote to her song and composition, “Journey”, which is also included in the album with Jay-R and Kettle Mata as co-music writers.

Shortly after her return in late 2013, Kyla began recording a new album. In March, Kyla renewed her contract with PolyEast Records.

History becomes Cariza Yamson Seguerra, well known as Aiza Seguerra singer-songwriter, guitarist, actress. She remains to be the most successful child star story in local entertainment scene.

Her 26-year-old career started when she joined a nationwide TV contest when she was 4 years old, After she becomes Eat Bulaga!'s Little Miss Philippines 1987, child star starring in several movies and TV shows.

She began pursuing a career in music; singing and playing the guitar. Her single Pagdating ng Panahon became a major hit in 2001. She was voted Best Female Recording Artist in Awit's Award. Her song "Pagdating ng Panahon" won for Best Pop Recording, Best Produced Record of the Year and also for the "Song of the Year award! This  enabled her to start a music career.  She has dabbled in acting for TV and movies, recording, composition, stage musicals, and concerts.

Acoustic sensation Aiza Seguerra became the biggest child star and eventually one of the most respected performers in the country.

Last September 10, we had the very fun day, birthday press conference held at Sir Boy’s Food Republique, Panay Avenue, Quezon City.
This September 28 at the Araneta Coliseum, Aiza, who is also celebrating her 30th birthday, is all set to unleash her power in Power of Two opposite Charice. It must be remembered that Aiza had a sold-out show same time last year at the Big Dome for her 25th year in showbiz billed Bente Singko.

Power of Two, produced by Wilbros Live and E-TALent Events, also celebrates 30 years, and gives fans a preview of bigger things to come in her 26th year in showbiz.

Aiza expressed gratitude for the public’s continued support in her major undertakings, may it be on TV, musical theater, concert stage or recording.

On television, the former child star continues to shine on the number one morning series ABS-CBN’s Be Careful with My Heart as the supportive Kute.

Aiza’s mettle as an actor was again highlighted in her participation in two musicals – as the charming Genie in the kid-friendly Aladdin and as the fearless Regina in Rock of Ages. Both musicals were produced by Atlantis Productions.

She also lent her beautiful voice to the Grand Prize-winning entry of Joven Tan in the ABS-CBN/Star Records’ 2013 Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs – Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa.

She also supported the hit musical Katy by recording her version of Minsan Ang Minahal Ay Ako. On the concert stage, Aiza proved that he is one artist respected by her fellow musicians. She shared the stage with Noel Cabangon in a two-night successful concert billed Tambayan Hits. She also was blessed with an endorsement deal this year- St. Augustine School of Nursing.

This September, she once again teams up with Charice to complete Power of Two. It must be remembered that Charice expressed her desire to work with Aiza in a concert, and the latter obliged, so the concert became a reality.

In between these engagements, Aiza toured the world to share her gift of music to Filipinos. She has done shows in, among others, US, UAE and Australia.

Her 25th year may be a big triumph for Aiza, but there seems to be no stopping her from achieving more in her career. She will be part of two MMFF entries – MZET/OctoArts’My Little Bossing with Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, Bimby, and Ryzza Mae, and Be Careful With My Heart The Movie.

Power of Two will also commence the Unbreakable Tour, which will go local and international venues. For tickets to Power of Two, contact (02) 911-5555.
