SANDALE! Our Favorite Kontrabida is Back at Handa Na Siyang Lumaban Against a New Karibal

A New Karibal Dares to Challenge Our Favorite Kontrabida

This kontrabida kween needs no introduction. One of Philippine teleserye’s most beloved kontrabidas is making a comeback—Maja Salvador. After recently giving birth to her first baby, she’s taking on a new role, arguably her biggest and most pivotal one yet—being a mother.

As Maja steps into the world of motherhood for the first time, she finds that her priorities have drastically changed. Her family’s health and safety are now at the very top of her list. Yet no sooner than, a new karibal dares to threaten her growing family—germs.

This kontrabida is unfazed, however. After all, she’s not alone.

Maja Finds a New Kakampi Against Germs

In one of her TikTok reels, Maja reveals her newfound ally against germs, and it is both expected and unexpected—Safeguard White Camellia.

As Maja’s TikTok reel keeps rolling, however, her followers are met with a plot twist: Safeguard White Camellia doesn’t just provide Maja with germ protection but lets her experience healthy-looking and soft-feeling skin, too. (Pwede pala ‘yun?).

Her followers aren’t the only ones to be caught by surprise. Maja is also delighted to discover the “mas napakabango pa” floral scent of Safeguard White Camellia, which contains White Camellia extracts.

It seems Maja is having a ShowerSaya experience with Safeguard White Camellia and she can’t wait to share it with her family.

Together with Safeguard White Camellia, Maja feels “indestructible” and reigns supreme over germs, bringing #ShowerSaya to her family.

More and More Popular Content Creators are Joining Maja Salvador

She may be a kontrabida but Maja is not alone in her #ShowerSaya as popular content creators in the likes of Adam Domingo or known as @panginoonngkababawan, Devi Descartin (@devidescartin), Ciara Magallanes or @mommydiariesph on TikTok, Christine Lim (@limmchristineee), Christian Laurenz, commonly known as @ychanlaurenz and Bernie Batin or known as @berniecularvlogs on TikTok have also discovered and experienced the #SoftSkinProtection of the NEW Safeguard White Camellia.

You, too, can join in on the #ShowerSaya.

Maja Salvador And Thai Popstar Tor Saksit Collaboration For New Single

BEC-TERO Music Thailand and Ivory Music and Video team up in bringing Asia the newest and boldest musical collaboration to hit the musical scene! Philippines’ very own Dance Princess Maja Salvador and Thailand’s most adored pop singer and pianist Tor Saksit join forces in their newest single “Falling Into You”.

With her successful teleserye on the side, Wildflower actress Maja is surely on a roll as she dives in one of the biggest milestones in her career. Last September, Maja flew all the way to Bangkok, Thailand to meet and record the single with Thai heartthrob Tor. As if a duo waiting to be matched, coincidentally, this is Maja’s first time to collaborate with a foreign artist, and it is Tor’s first time as well to record an English single. Now, musical award winner Tor is in the Philippines for the promo and music video shoot.

While this dream partnership is a lot of firsts for both Maja and Tor, their passion and love for singing has always been a common ground. The single was recorded in Thailand’s finest and state of the art Karma Studios in Bang Saray, south of Pattaya. Victor Lau, a well-known musical producer and composer from Taiwan who have worked with Meteor Garden’s Vaness Wu, Cyndi Wang, and more, produced Maja and Tor’s most awaited single.

Penned by Tor himself and other composers, the song will highlight Tor’s smooth, swooning piano playing skills and vocals, complemented by her MAJAsty’s sultry, emotion-filled delivery.

To be released globally on February 2018, “Falling Into You” will capture the hearts not just of Filipino and Thai fans, but every love-driven music lovers all around Asia and the world.

Maja Salvador’s debut album “Believe” went for the Gold, then for the Platinum

Maja Salvador’s debut album “Believe” signifies more than an exhibition of her singing abilities, one of her many talents. It has proven once again that this girl’s formula for success pans out the way she intends to: dream hard...then work hard for it to come true. “Napatunayan ko na hindi mahirap mangarap. Kapitan mo lang ang pangarap mo. Huwag mong pakawalan.”

It was an inspiring feat for Maja when “Believe” reached 7,500 in sales figures and had been certified Gold by the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry (PARI) last June 5th. It was quite an overwhelming triumph for a young woman testing the waters of a different industry. With her diligent willingness to leave a mark on music and a charismatic hold on a fanbase that never seem to thin out, things that took place after this Gold certification fell beyond the reach of the word “success”.

Numbering in the accolades of “Believe” is the Philippine Movie Press Club awarding the album as the Dance Album of the Year at the 6th PMPC Star Awards For Music, with another nomination for Maja for the New Female Recording Artist Of the Year award. It also pioneered the bar-raising “mastered for iTunes” hallmark for the entire OPM industry. “Dahan-dahan”, the flagship single for the album claimed the nod of OPM buffs as it charted atop national radio and music TV channel charts, and scored almost 6 million views for its music video on YouTube.

The end of the “Believe” era is still not in sight though.

With a sprawling spread of recognition under her belt, “Believe” hits it even bigger with Maja tirelessly touring the country to promote the record and eventually, the countless hours of boosting the acquaintance of the public with the new sound that is Maja, paid off. Only 6 months after receiving

the Gold award from PARI, “Believe” called for a crown change to a Platinum certification, selling over massive 15,000 copies. The plaques were handed to a surprised and teary-eyed Maja on ABS-CBN’s ASAP show last Sunday, December 14.

OPM’s kudos to Maja’s musical work is truly significant, but the belief that she can take over this industry too as regarded by her fans, both newfound ones and those who have grown with her from the early beginnings of her career, is the highlight on Maja’s impressive resumé so

far. Though some “critics” bomb her vocal ability as half-baked at best, Maja knew better: she can sing, and right now that’s what she wants to do. Unlike most of her contemporaries, it wasn’t her intention to follow the regrettable practice of merely creating a 30-minute ad for a celebrity brand. In creating “Believe”, singing and creating a real record was her primary concern. At the very same time she can dance, she can act, she can model. She can relate to the audience. She knows how to envelop herself in the uniqueness of her skillset. From where we're all standing, Maja's got it pretty good at entertaining overall.

More than the efforts she has given to complete and promote the album, Maja only has one last advice: “Just BELIEVE!”

“BELIEVE” Maja Salvador ! The first OPM album to be mastered for iTunes

Maja Salvador will be leaving a huge footprint on the music scene with her debut album “Believe”. And it is not loosely said so. As apart from the album being certified Gold last June (only 2 months after the official release) and obtaining an official Vevo channel on YouTube with views summing up to almost 6 million, the album takes the cake off the plate of its contemporaries once again by becoming the first OPM album to be mastered for iTunes.

A “mastered for iTunes” song is a digitally downloadable track on iTunes, taking legs of optimization to make every bit of it in the highest definition possible and as close to how artists and their production team intend every song to be heard as possible, while keeping the music file size down for portability and for more efficient digital distribution.

The calibre that “Believe” has set for itself makes it well-worthy of this iTunes mastery. As it geared away from traditional instrumentation and instead adopted modern production, it has become the most ideal vehicle to drive our eardrums to crave newness from the OPM department. All the while the album never lost sight of what is really important: it’s an OPM record. Note that all songs were penned in Filipino to butter up Maja’s new-fashioned Pinay image interbred with pop-house-R&B sound that could run parallel with American Top 40 tracks.

This leap of Maja’s music to verge into the digital age is a gutsy deal in changing the game face of the local music industry not just in the manner of distribution and consumption of music, but also in its production and ultimately, the artistry. Now you can listen in hi-def to the album with crystal-clear vocals, smoother strums and deeper thumps as if each of the tracks just got off the LASIK chair.

A milestone like this wasn’t far from Maja’s horizons to begin with. The way she wants things to happen in her music career is to take the qualitative side of the road, obvious in the production of her songs and the videos for them: never dry and juiceless.

Maja believed that “Believe” would go places, and the album took the entire industry with it.

There’s no denying it. “Believe” is a key part of OPM music history now.

The mastered for iTunes “Believe” contains the original tracklist:

Maja Salvador Releases New Album “Believe”

The "Dance Princess", Kapamilya star and actress Maja Salvador is now a singer. It was December 2013 when Maja signed a recording contract with Ivory Music & Video. After months of excitement and anticipation, the actress-turned-singer unleashes her talent in singing with her debut album BELIEVE!

Produced by award-winning arranger and producer, Jonathan Ong, the album features 8 tracks including her first single “Dahan-Dahan” and the sure-to-be hit collaboration with hip-hop star Abra called “Halikana”. Maja Salvador also awakens the songwriter in her as she co-writes a track called “Buong Gabi” featuring Project Pinas.

It was not a long time ago when Kapamilya star, Maja Salvador, appeared on Gandang Gabi Vice and shared that she’s serious about pursuing singing as a career, “Gusto ko na, kaya nga ako nag-tour kasi 10 years na ako sa business.” She even shared that she was taking voice lessons from Annie Quintos of The Company.

“Gusto ko i-share sa kanila [sa fans] na meron akong bagong minamahal, which is yung pag-kanta. Sobrang swerte lang na may nakarinig ng boses ko from Ivory Music na yun nga, willing silang gumawa ng album ko.”

"Gusto ko ma-prove na singer din ako, na kaya kong kumanta. Parang ‘si Maja, hindi lang sya umaarte, hindi lang sya sumasayaw, pero kaya din niyang ibigay lahat sa music, sa paggawa ng isang kanta’.

Maja Salvador also awakens the songwriter in her as she co-writes a track called “Buong Gabi” featuring Project Pinas.

The “Dance Princess” shared that this album is a dream come true for her as not everyone is given the chance to have a record deal, “Hindi lahat sumusugal na bigyan ng album ang isang artista so I’m very thankful. Sobrang naa-amaze ako sa nangyayari sa akin today.”

She admitted that the recording process wasn’t an easy ride for her since it’s a first-time endeavor to record a music album, but all was well with the help of the engineers at Sonic State Studios. “Parang nung umpisa, hindi ko alam kung tama ba yung ginagawa ko kasi first time ko mag-record ng kanta [at] first time ko gumawa ng album pero nahanap ko rin yung placement ng voice ko,” she confesses.

Surreal would be the best word to explain her feeling when she heard her first single “Dahan Dahan” on the radio, “Nung una ko siyang narinig sa radyo, nakatulala lang ako kasi parang hindi parin ako makapaniwala.” In fact, her first single hit the radio airwaves and music charts by storm. After its first week of airing, “Dahan-Dahan” reached as high as #1 on the radio charts including MOR Dagupan. It’s also one of the top-selling songs on iTunes and her song landed on the top spot along with foreign artists since its release on March 6, 2014.

Maja is just beyond grateful to be enjoying the blessings coming her way, “Grabe na yung nangyayari sakin ngayon, yung mga blessings na dumating talaga na parang dun lang ako nagising talaga nung narinig ko na siya sa radyo na eto na, totoo talaga na meron na akong album.

Primetime TV's "The Legal Wife" tackles the real value of family

THE LEGAL WIFE poster"The Legal Wife” will not just heat up primetime TV with fierce confrontations but with real-life issues as well, according to top caliber directors Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao.
“We want to make sure that our audience will follow our show not only because of the slapping scenes, but also because, through it, they learn how to deal with the problems of their own families, which they have been afraid to face,” said Direk Rory about the Primetime Bida series topbilled by Angel Locsin, Maja Salvador, JC de Vera, and Jericho Rosales
“Many viewers will be able to connect with the characters of Monica (Angel), Nicole (Maja), Max (JC), and Adrian (Jericho), because their personal battles are true-to-life. ‘Legal Wife’ is about the love and sacrifices that a person is willing to do for the sake of his family,” Direk Dado explained.
Meanwhile, Angel, Maja, JC, and Echo revealed that story of “The Legal Wife” also made them discover a lot about themselves.
“Everyone has already experienced to love and to make mistakes. Because of my character Monica, I realized that I need to be strong in order to face all the trials in my life, especially if my family is affected,” said Angel.
For Echo, the plot of “The Legal Wife” will serve as a huge eye-opener for Filipino families. “Infidelity is such a sensitive topic, but I believe that this is the right time to make everyone understand why this happens, and why people end up in this situation,” he said.
Maja added that while her character in the series is controversial, she believes that many people will be able to relate with Nicole.
“There are many kinds of love, but there is this kind where somebody accepts your whole personality despite of the things that you did in the past,” she shared.
“I appreciate love for my family and for others now more that I used to because of my character Max’s ability to give everything he has got without asking for anything in return,” JC said.
“The Legal Wife” features the story of Monica and Adrian, a married couple whose lives are about to turn around because of a huge mistake. How will Monica and Adrian be able to fulfill the promise of forever when the foundation of their relationship begins is already shattered?
Also part of “The Legal Wife” cast are some of the country’s best drama actors including Joem Bascon, Ahron Villena, Rio Locsin, Mark Gil, Maria Isabel Lopez, Bernard Palanca, and Christopher de Leon.

Throwback Docu : "Biyaheng Retro" with Alma Moreno, Maja Salvador and other dance divas

“Biyaheng Retro” traces the evolution of dancing trends; and dance divas who changed the landscape of television over the last thirty years.
Maja Salvador
Dancing queens of then and now take center stage in the ultimate throwback docu-show of the new year, “Biyaheng Retro” on ABS-CBN’s Jeepney TV this Sunday (January 19).

Wachout nostalgic highlights, from Miss 'Tangga Queen' Alma Moreno’s sexy gyrations on “Loveliness” in the 80’s to Maja Salvador’s feisty moves on “ASAP.”

Alma Moreno
Moreno makes a high mark in the pop-docu with her reminiscence as the Tangga Queen of the 80’s, also giving her comparisons of television dance styles from yesterday to today.

Hosted by ABS-CBN News correspondent Mario Dumaual and “Be Careful With My Heart” star Janella Salvador, “Biyaheng Retro” will also highlight the rise of Charlene Gonzales, Georcelle Dapat of G-Force, and other female artists; as well as the almost fatal clash-dance showdown of Regine Tolentino and Angela Velez, one of the most unforgettable moments in Philippine television.

“Biyaheng Retro” has been cited for its insightful and nostalgic look at showbiz since it first aired last November 2013, with its premiere episode on the first showbiz breaks of Richard Yap and Alice Dixson.

It also chronicled the stars of the seminal TV youth program, “Ang TV,” with its “Esmyuskee” episode starring Rica Peralejo, Vandolph, Baron Geisler, and other TV stars.

“Biyaheng Retro” airs every Sunday on Jeepney TV (SkyCable channel 9) at 9:00pm.
