MYX Music Awards 2014 nominees revealed ! Vote for the country’s top music acts online

MYX Music Awards 2014 list of official nominees was revelated last February 18 at an event held at K-Pub BBQ at Bonifacio Global City.

MYX, the country’s number one music channel presents the upcoming happenings on the Music Awards 2014. And apart from the exciting announcement of which of today’s top acts will be included in the fast approaching awards night, the great night happenings also featured performances by Yeng Constantino, Jireh Lim, Jonalyn Viray, and Luigi D'Avola. and was hosted by MYX's very own VJs Nikki, Chino, Ai, and Karla.
This year’s announcement of nominees also marks the start of the voting period for the MYX Music Awards 2014. This year’s competition will be taking into consideration sixty percent (60%) of the public’s votes and forty percent (40%) of the results from the artist’s poll.

To vote, MYX has come up with two ways to get viewers’ favorite acts ahead in the game—by logging on to the official microsite of the MYX Music Awards (www.mma.MYXph.com) or by ‘liking’ the official Facebook page of MYX (www.facebook.com/MYX.philippines).

For voting via the microsite, logged-on users can simply choose from the nominees per category in the site’s voting page. Each person can cast one vote per day per category.

For voting via Facebook, people who have liked the official MYX Philippines fan page need to simply access the MYX Music Awards Facebook App. Through this process as well, each person can cast one vote per day per category.

Bride For Rent marks the much-awaited silver screen reunion of Kim and Xian who are arguably considered as one of the hottest blockbuster love-teams in the country today.

KimXi made a big success in the movie after their first movie team-up 'Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo' who gained more than P100 Million pesos.

The successful and blockbuster loveteam, Xiam and Kim are back on the silver screen via their latest romantic comedy as they deliver more “kilig.” The two are really fun and happy loveteam to share their working and friendship relationship.

FRESH from its critical and box-office triumph in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival, Star Cinemas continues its 20th anniversary celebration as it opens 2014 with a bang with Bride For Rent – a romantic comedy starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

'Bride for Rent' is very catchy title. Bride For Rent is a hilarious love story centered on Rocco Espiritu (Lim) and Rocky Espiritu (Chiu) who are both in desperate need of money. Rocco needs to get married to have access to his sizable trust fund while Rocky on the other hand is frantic for rent money lest her whole family gets evicted and homeless.

Rocco conspires with Rocky who agrees to act as his “pseudo wife” in exchange for a huge “talent fee.” A series of sidesplitting problems arise as Rocco and Rocky implement their deceitful plot. Would their plan work or would it backfire on them with the possibility of them developing actual feelings with each other?

Director Mae Cruz, Pilita Corales, Kim Chiu, Carmi Raymundo and Xiam Lim during the blogcon held at the Abs-Cbn /ELJ Building, Quezon City, January 8, 2013.
According to Direc May Cruz and writer Carmina Raymundo, Bride For Rent gets great collaboration between Kim and Xian.

The film also features the grand comeback of Asia’s Queen Of Songs Pilita Corrales to the big-screen as she portrays a very special role.

Kim Chiu, Ate Vi’s personal Choice in “The Healing”

Primetime princess Kim Chiu celebrates a major milestone in her showbiz career as she work for the first time with Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos in a one-of-a-kind suspense-horror Star Cinema film titled, “The Healing.”

“Working with Governor Vi is such a wonderful experience. I learned a lot from her as an actress and as a person. I felt like because of her, my acting skills were developed,” said Kim, who was Vilma’s personal choice in her first-ever suspense-horror movie that is ABS-CBN and Star Cinema’s tribute to her 50 illustrious years in showbiz.
The first “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition” big winner also revealed how kind and generous Vilma was as a co-actor. "Ate Vi is so approachable and down-to-earth. She doesn’t have 'walls' so everyone feels free to talk her," shared Kim.

The young actress was also thankful of how the Star for All Seasons herself helped her in delivering her mysterious character in “The Healing” which is a story about the Filipino tradition of going to faith healers for guidance and treatment of ailments. Kim imparted, “Ate Vi told me, ‘Huwag mong sasayangin ang eksena. Ibigay mo na, minsan lang ito mangyari. Huwag mong isipin na ako si Ate Vi.”

With the inspiration given by Vilma, Kim gave her all in every challenging scene of the movie that is set to prove that the former teen sensation is now full-fledged actress. “The cast and staff are all professional. So each time that I arrive in the set, I’ve already memorized all my lines and I’m already prepared since I’m working with no less than Direk Chito Roño and the whole team, plus Governor Vilma, of course,” she said.

In honor of Vilma's 50th anniversary, Star Cinema gathered an all-star highly acclaimed powerhouse cast composed of Kim, Janice de Belen, Mark Gil, Martin del Rosario, Jhong Hilario, Allan Paule, Cris Villanueva, Daria Ramirez, Ces Quesada, Ynez Veneracion, Simon Ibarra, Abi Bautista, Joel Torre, Chinggoy Alonso, Mon Confiado, Carmi Martin and Pokwang!
“The Healing” is showing in cinemas nationwide.
