Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo Movie ‘The Breakup Playlist’ is Rated PG

“The Breakup Playlist” directed by Dan Villegas, has received a Parental Guidance (PG) rating from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

The announcement came two days before the grand opening of the movie featuring box office royalties Sarah Geronimo and Piolo Pascual in their first team-up together.

This romantic drama ‘The Breakup Playlist’ with Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo is a film centering on two musicians, Trixie David (Sarah) and Gino Avila (Piolo), whose journey is chronicled through the songs they wrote, sang, and listened to in the process.

Synopsis: 

What if you have a dream and that dream leads you to love? In Dan Villegas’ “The Breakup Playlist,” Trixie David (Sarah Geronimo), a law student (by her parent’s – especially her mother’s – choice) and hopeful musician, catches the attention of popular rock star Gino Avila (Piolo Pascual) during a music camp and invites her to be part of his band. Trixie and Gino’s connection through music soon develops into something more, and they fall in love, will the man inspire her to pursue her true dreams and capture her heart. However, personal issues and ambition challenge Trixie and Gino’s love for each other. Will they be able to hold on to their love forever? Or will it, just like any song, end eventually?

“The Breakup Playlist” also stars Cris Villonco, Teddy Corpuz, Jet Pangan, Badji Mortiz, Maris Racal, Diego Loyzaga, Dennis Padilla, Rio Locsin, and Anna Luna, and features appearances by real-life musicians and producers.

Open Air Cinema One : Music by Day, Movies by Night at The Fields Nuvali

Cinema One Launches New Outdoor Screening Event last May 1, Labor Day. 

In partnership with Nuvali Night Sky Cinema, Cinema One, the home of the biggest blockbuster movies launches its newest outdoor screening event featuring Cinema One Originals “That Thing Called Tadhana,” “Shift,” and John Carney’s “Begin Again” at The Fields, Nuvali on Labor day (May 1).

The Labor day event been split into two celebrations with music filling the air by day, and movies screening all night long. Hosted by John Lapus, “Open Air Cinema One” showcases three feel good films starting with the award winning Yeng Constantino and Felix Roco helmed film “Shift” at 5:30PM followed by Keira Knightley-Mark Ruffalo starrer, "Begin Again”, and for the last show of the night, the highest local grossing indie film,  “That Thing Called Tadhana” shown at 10:30 PM. 

“Shift” is a 2013 Cinema One Originals entry by Siege Ledesma that follows the story of Estela (Yeng Constantino), a call center agent who is struggling to have a sense of direction in life. She meets and befriends co-worker Trevor (Felix Roco), a supposed homosexual and manages to create a charming connection with him. As Estela and Trevor’s friendship blossoms, complications arise. 

Meanwhile, “That Thing Called Tadhana” by Antoinette Jadaone chronicles the story of two Filipino strangers, Mace (Angelica Panganiban) and Anthony (JM de Guzman) who bump into each other at Rome’s airport. At the check-in counter, a struggling Mace who made countless attempts to pass baggage load requirements was saved with the help of Anthony. After landing in Manila, the two eventually decide to travel together up north to Baguio and Sagada in the quest to search for the answer to the question, “where do broken hearts go?” 

The international box office hit, “Begin Again” directed by John Carney is anchored on music against the backdrop of the musically cultured city of New York. Keira Knightley portrays singer-songwriter Gretta who recently called it quits with her boyfriend, musician Dave Kohl (Adam Levine). Gretta is then discovered by record label executive Dan (Mark Ruffalo) at a bar wherein Gretta was forced to play on stage by a friend. Amazed with Gretta’s talent, Dan offers to produce Gretta’s music to make her as one of the talents in his company. In an effort to create a demo that will persuade Dan’s business partner to sign Gretta, the two begin recording Gretta’s music in various locations around New York City. 

Music fans also rejoiced as The Fields, Nuvali converts into a music haven as Up Dharma Down, Moonstar88, Ransom Collective, Jason Dy, and Kai Honassan performed their best hits in between the films with other surprise guests.

Summer vibes are all around the whole day at “Open Air Cinema One” as various trampolines, inflatables, and food trucks conquer Nuvali. There were also kite flying activity that completes the Labor day family getaway.

MYX Music Awards 2014 nominees revealed ! Vote for the country’s top music acts online

MYX Music Awards 2014 list of official nominees was revelated last February 18 at an event held at K-Pub BBQ at Bonifacio Global City.

MYX, the country’s number one music channel presents the upcoming happenings on the Music Awards 2014. And apart from the exciting announcement of which of today’s top acts will be included in the fast approaching awards night, the great night happenings also featured performances by Yeng Constantino, Jireh Lim, Jonalyn Viray, and Luigi D'Avola. and was hosted by MYX's very own VJs Nikki, Chino, Ai, and Karla. 

This year’s announcement of nominees also marks the start of the voting period for the MYX Music Awards 2014. This year’s competition will be taking into consideration sixty percent (60%) of the public’s votes and forty percent (40%) of the results from the artist’s poll.

To vote, MYX has come up with two ways to get viewers’ favorite acts ahead in the game—by logging on to the official microsite of the MYX Music Awards (www.mma.MYXph.com) or by ‘liking’ the official Facebook page of MYX (www.facebook.com/MYX.philippines).

Yeng Constantino 's Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis , a transformation by a magic,  change in appearance, character, condition, or function. This amazing transformation in our life is a great lesson,  for anyone to learn and it is not only a lesson that involves an ever-changing , but it is one that we can apply to ourselves as well.

They say that the only permanent thing is this world is change, and this rings true in the case of Star Magic’s Yeng Constantino.

Just like in each of her four previous certified hit albums, Yeng made sure that she has something new to offer with her latest album, aptly titled “Metamorphosis”.

Metamorphosis is the first word that came to Yeng’s mind when Star Records asked her for a title for her fifth music record.

Metamorphosis, which literally means transformation or “pagbabago”, appropriately describes Yeng, her music and her life.

Being the experimental type, Yeng has also been dynamic when it comes to her looks. She has long since shed off her simple getup and she now sports a bolder and a more stylish image suitable for the Pop-Rock Princess. Even her new hair color reflects her love for reinvention.

Favorite Female Artist of MYX Music Awards 2012, Yeng showcases how passionate she is with her music. It took her two years before completing the self-composed album, not because she had a hard time writing the songs but because she had to juggle writing the songs and doing shows here and abroad. In 2011, Yeng was grateful to Star Records that they allowed her to do “Yeng Versions Live!”, her fourth album that composed of previous OPM hits that she sang live. More so, this gave her more time to write new songs for her succeeding music album.

In “Metamorphosis”, the talented singer-songwriter’s carrier single, “B.A.B.A.Y.”, which is a sad song, is a big contrast to its upbeat and lively melody.

Another original track in the album, “Chinito”, was written by her friend, Jed Dumawal, which Yeng immediately fell in love with after she heard it online. Yeng didn’t pass up the chance and asked Jed to allow her to sing the song for her album.

Yeng has come a long way since she became the first-ever Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer way back in 2006. In the years that followed, she has consistently shown passion for her music and eventually succeeded in carving a niche in the music industry as a talented singer and a song-writer.

Yeng embraces change and sees every moment as an opportunity to make her life better, and which she continues to transform without regrets.
