Ada Lovelace Google Doodle

Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer and considered the world's first computer programmer.

In honor of Ada Lovelace Google celebrated her legacy on December 10, 2012 with a Google Doodle devoted to Ada Lovelace.
In the doodle there are also symbols of what was considered the first computers to modern day computers like  a laptop and Ipad or Tab. In the Google Doodle there is a mathematical formula written in a bubble just above the “G” in Google. There is also a drawing of a woman in the image, which looks a lot like Ada Lovelace.

For this Holiday season, VICE, KRIS and AIAI Join Forces For Power Comedy Film “SISTERAKAS”

Three Queens unite for one unkabogable Christmas comedy treat! For the first time, the three controversial ‘queens’ of today–Phenomenal Box-Office Goddess Vice Ganda, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, and Comedy Concert Queen AiAi delas Alas–will star in one power comedy film titled “Sisterakas,” Star Cinema and Viva Films’ official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The newest comedy masterpiece of Direk Wenn Deramas “Sisterakas” will hit theaters nationwide beginning Christmas (December 25).
Unlike in real life where they are close friends, Vice, Kris and AiAi will play fierce rivals in “Sisterakas.” In the story, Vice portray the role of Bernice, a super successful ‘lord of the apparels industry’ who is determined to bring misery to two of his closest competition–her hardworking half-sister Detty (AiAi) whose family refused to help Bernice’s family when they were poor, and Roselle (Kris) the equally brilliant and talented yet eccentric business archnemesis.
In her quest to secure her throne as the queen of her industry, although it’s against her will, Bernice will be forced to hire Detty as his 75th assistant. But things get out of hand and the world gets crazier when Detty suddenly becomes an employee–of all people–Roselle!
With the rivalry getting tougher and more intense than ever and severely affecting each other’s intertwined lives, who among Bernice, Detty and Roselle will emerge victorious?
Meanwhile, after their sensational success in “Princess and I” and their first big screen team-up in “24/7 In Love” which is still showing on cinemas nationwide, two of the country’s hottest teen stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are now also part of “Sisterakas.” In the film, Daniel will portray the role of Angelo, the godson of Bernice, while Kathryn will play as Kathy, the daughter of Detty and big sister of Cindy (Xyriel Manabat).
Don’t miss the grandest gift of Star Cinema and Viva Films that will surely make the whole family merrier this Christmas–”Sisterakas,” which will be shown on cinemas nationwide starting December 25.

O+ Bench + Joseph Marco’s New Adventure

Fashion and Technology . . . as the two ever-changing worlds of fashion and technology have grown more competitive than ever, we have come to realize that the key is, “keep up or be left behind.” Interlinking individuals through the power of mobile technology has tremendously become more of a need than a statement of luxury, similar to the case of fashion where trends come and go and modern consumers are always on the prowl for the next big thing.
The two are undoubtedly united by key elements to thrive: innovation and democracy. With constant reinvention remaining as the driving force of these worlds’ operations, the clamoring market has been granted access to their needs and wants.
Fashion, today, has been accessed not just by the chosen few, and technology has paved the way to an interconnected way of living. And so, what better way to celebrate limitless possibilities than to meld these worlds into one.

Bound by the common thread of pushing for endless possibilities, Bench/, in its silver year, ushers in a seamless marriage of talent and vision with O+, the US-born Android mobile technology brand.

Enjoying 25 years of dominance in the market of fashion faithful, Bench/ has tremendously undergone evolution along with its clout of Filipino fashion lovers. The retail giant has cemented a name that has bridged markets of varying social brackets without compromising its design stamp and persona.
On the other hand, O+’s Android series has recently broken ground in local shores. Work and play come hand in hand in its lineup of smart phones and tablets. Aiming to make a dent in the tech-savvy market, O+ brings in revolutionary partners for the young and young-at-heart who are always on the go.
And one with O+’s vision of limitless possibilities, through the revolutionary Air Shuffle technology, today’s Android brings us to greater heights by allowing swifter navigation using the unique motion sensor that allows users to easily switch FM radio stations, browse stored photos and music with one swoosh of the wrist, even capture Instagram-worthy moments without the need to touch the capture button.
In this unique collaboration, O+’s young ideals mesh with the 25-year tradition of excellence and ingenuity established by Bench/.
With the guiding principle of sharing without limits, last December 2, 2012 at the new Glorietta 1 Activity Center Bench/ and O+ were set to cultivate a new-breed of Filipino fashionistas by highlighting unsung heroes in the world of fashion—the stylists.
A first in the country, invited are six celebrity stylists, Sidney Yap, Adrian Concepcion, Ton Lao, Myrrh Lao To, Edlene Cabral, and Kate Paras, who compete in an exemplary display of creativity, vision, and technique. Each stylist will head a team of make up artists and hair experts to produce five (5) coherently-styled looks fusing elements derived from Bench/ and O+.
Each collection were judged on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme. The judges in the competition are esteemed names in fashion and entertainment: top designers Randy Ortiz and JC Buendia, Manila Bulletin’s Liza Ilarde, Preview’s Vince Uy, Philippine Daily Inquirer’s JJ San Juan, Philippine Star’s Christopher De Venecia PMAP President Phoemela Barranda, and Bench endorser Joseph Marco.
Fashion and technology display an exemplary union with Bench and O+ pushing for going beyond the ordinary. Coinciding with the competition, the biggest supersale on fashion and technology was also been mounted by Bench and O+ at the new Glorietta Activity Center from 1PM-9PM.
