One of the Panadol advocates the importance of having pain-free moments with loved ones, and sharing this message together with Panadol is father/athlete/host Ryan Agoncillo. The brand trusted all over the world puts the power to take away the pain in your hands with fast-acting (Paracetamol), for quicker recovery and more time for the ones you love, provides fast-acting pain relief, helping Filipinos improve their day to day lives.

There are unlimited and endless reasons why family always comes first. The best reason is Health. For Filipinos, family comes first, that is why when pain strikes, quality time with the family is the first to suffer.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the global leading healthcare company is committed to improving the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longe with (paracetamol) Panadol as the world’s trusted pain reliever, sold in more than 85 countries.

Panadol with Optizorb is a type of paracetamol caplet that works five times faster than regular formulation. It contains the same amount of paracetamol (500 mg) found in Panadol, so you can feel confident in its ability to relieve pain such as headache and fever.

 Ryan Agoncillo
“Seven out of 10 Filipinos suffer from regular headaches. The time wasted on dealing with this kind of pain should have been better spent on more important things like quality time with the family,” says Jeoffrey Yulo, General Manager – Consumer Healthcare, GSK Philippines. “This dilemma encourages GSK to continue providing a fast and effective solution like Panadol to pain sufferers. What makes Panadol with Optizorb truly different from other branded and generic paracetamol products is that it is the only product to contain Optizorb®, which has revolutionized the way paracetamol tablets are dispersed in the body, so it allows paracetamol to reach the bloodstream more quickly and be carried to where it acts to fight pain, five times faster.”

This year, Panadol brings more focus to help take away the pain for faster recovery and more super moments with the ones you love. Bringing this life-affirming message to the fore is father/athlete/host Ryan Agoncillo, together with his son Lucho. Ryan is known to be a dedicated father to his children – Yohan and Lucho – and spends as much time as he can with his family.

As a sportsman who is into motorcycles and triathlons, Ryan is no stranger to aches and pain. But he doesn’t let any kind of discomfort like headache get in the way of a quality time with his equally energetic son, making their moments together pain-free. But whenever pain or headache strikes, he puts his trust on Panadol. And like a true superhero, he has the power of quick recovery in the eyes of his son.

“My family is my top priority. Even if I get busy with work and my other pursuits, I make sure that I get to spend quality with my wife and my kids. But, sometimes, because of my workload, I suffer from terrible headaches,” Ryan relates. “Fortunately, there’s Panadol. It offers fast relief to make my super moments with my family pain-free! Indeed, when pain is gone, life takes its place.”

(Paracetamol) Panadol® with Optizorb® comes in 36 x 10s dispenser box and a 10s pack. Each tablet has an SRP of PHP 4.00 and is available at all leading drugstores nationwide.

Repertory Philippines launches Run For Your Wife

As part of its 2015 lineup, Repertory Philippines launches Run For Your Wife, a sexy comedy written by Ray Cooney. Since its launch in 1983 at London’s West End, it had a successful nine year run in the UK. After that, the show has been staged most notably in New York, Paris, Stockholm, and Manila.

Run For Your Wife trails John Smith, a taxi driver in London who has two wives: one in Streatham and another in Wimbledon. After he gets mugged and winds up in the hospital, the police department from each district calls Mrs. Smith: Mary Smith and Barbara Smith.

The show has been praised for its hilarious storyline, complex choreography, and impeccable timing. The Daily Telegraph called it a triumph, while the New York Post promised “virtually continuous laughter.”

Repertory’s production of Run For Your Wife is the third time the company has staged the show, the first in 1986, and the second in 2001. Miguel Faustmann, the taxi driver in the first two runs, returns as the director of this exciting play.

“Even if it’s an old play, it’s such a funny and well-written play,” said Faustmann. “Let’s just have a good time laughing because it’s better to laugh than to feel angry or sad. Humor, as they say, is the best medicine, right?”

Besides the biting wit of the script, one of the fun things to take note of for Run For Your Wife is the intricate blocking and choreography for the actors. The play relies on missed connections, or a precise schedule of entrances and exits, with one stage sharing the two homes of both wives.

Theater veteran Jamie Wilson plays John Smith, a physically demanding role that would literally see him running across the stage throughout the entire show, with only two exits.

“My challenge here is to get everything so linear. I should be confused as John Smith but not as Jamie Wilson,” he shared. “I’m literally running the whole time, answering phone calls, lying, and fabricating stories. I have to keep my secret from coming out. It’s exhausting but fun.”

He is joined by Goldie Soon, who plays the motherly wife Mary, and Mikkie Bradshaw, who plays the bombshell wife, Barbara. Rounding out the cast are Jeremy Domingo as John’s best friend Stanley Gardner, Steven Conde as the flamboyantly gay neighbor Bobby Franklin, James Stacy as the suspicious Detective Sergeant Troughton, Paul Holme as the easygoing Detective Sergeant Porterhouse, and Mara Javier as the inquisitive journalist.

The humor is distinctly British, but the cast and director believe that the premise of having two wives is a universal concept.

“It’s not accepted here but it’s done,” Wilson shared. “Remember the humor in it, not the taboo. Run For Your Wife shows the humor of this ridiculous situation. You could put the same situation, take all the humor out of it and be a heavy drama like a typical Filipino teleserye. But nobody has shown the humor in it. And this is what it’s showing.”

Run For Your Wife will be staged from April 10 to May 3, 2015 at Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City. Ticket prices ranges from P400 to P800.

Brother International Philippines Corporation (Brother Philippines), a leading provider of home and business IT peripherals here in the Philippines, continues to advocate cancer awareness by participating once more in the Relay for Life 2015 organized annually by the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS), a non-profit organization that advocates cancer prevention and control. This is the fourth consecutive year that the company became a part of Relay for Life to provide moral support to cancer patients and survivors while providing a venue for volunteerism among its employees and partners.
Brother Philippines employees and partners participated in the 2015 Relay for Life to help create cancer awareness in the country, as well as foster social consciousness among its employees. Hocson said, “Our company’s participation in activities like the Relay for Life 2015 has been one of the reasons why our employee engagement is high. They are happy that Brother is supporting a very worthy cause – that of creating awareness for the fight against cancer.”

PCS Executive Director Dr. Rachel Rosario said that the support of Brother Philippines and other private and public entities is invaluable as it tells cancer patients and survivors and their families that they are not alone. Dr. Rosario said, “The message of love from Brother and the other participants of this year’s vigil resonates and cheers on the cancer sufferers to continue the fight. They are not alone,” said Dr. Rosario.

Since 2011, the Brother Group has been globally promoting participation in Relay for Life as part of social contribution activities involving employees that the Brother Group Global Charter encourages. The initiative is dubbed the “Golden Ring Project,” as different local offices of Brother that participates in Relay for Life in their respective countries form a ring around the globe.

As a symbol of this global initiative, a sash embroidered with the flag of each of the participating countries using Brother’s Entrepreneur® Pro PR1000e 10-needle home embroidery machine is being routed yearly where each country adds its latest year of participation in the embroidery work.
