FAMAS releases nominees; awards on July 13

The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Inc. (FAMAS) announced the list of nominees for the 62nd FAMAS Annual Awards Night slated on July 13 at the grand ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino in Entertainment City, Parañaque City.

FAMAS president Angelo Eloy Padua said the nominees are competing for various awards in several categories.

• Best Picture:
10,000 Hours (Philippine Film Studios, Viva Films and N2 Productions); Boy Golden: Shoot To Kill, The Antonio Porcuna Story (Scenema Concept International, Inc. and Viva Films); Burgos (Heaven’s Best Entertainment); Ekstra (Cinemalaya Foundation and Quantum Films); Four Sisters and A Wedding (Star Cinema); Lauriana (Film Development Council of the Philippines and BG Productions International); On the Job (Reality Entertainment and Star Cinema) and Pagpag (Star Cinema and Regal Films)

• Best Director:

The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as FAMAS Awards) are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of prize-winning writers and movie columnists, for achievements in the Philippine cinema for a calendar year.
