NutriAsia kids pay tribute to hardworking frontliners with Salamat BayaNAI program

Through challenging times, NutriAsia’s own frontliners have remained dedicated to keeping shelves stocked with Filipinos’ favorite and trusted food products. In recognition of this, children of NutriAsia employees are honoring and further protecting them through their Salamat BayaNAI program.

Salamat BayaNAI is a project under Batang NutriAsia, a corporate program of NutriAsia for children of its employees.

Launched by Batang NutriAsia, an in-house summer program for children of NutriAsia employees, the Salamat BayaNAI program saw 3,800 face shields assembled and donated to NutriAsia merchandisers and employees for their protection. Despite the risks, these merchandisers served as the company’s front line in ensuring supermarkets and grocery stores remain stocked with NutriAsia products throughout the community quarantine, while employees from departments such as Human Resources, Total Quality Management, R&D, and Supply Chain also continued to report to work on site, making sure that all operations remained consistent throughout the situation.

Face shields were chosen for both their practicality and the protection they impart against COVID-19 and other diseases.

Children write messages of encouragement to NutriAsia’s own frontliners

The program also aims to give these employees emotional support, as the Batang NutriAsia kids added heartwarming handwritten thank-you notes to the frontliners.
“We want these frontliners to know that their work is appreciated, and their bravery is not forgotten,” said Sabine Flaminiano, Salamat BayaNAI project lead and a Batang NutriAsia graduate in her own right.

“Seeing the reactions of the store merchandisers and employees as they received our care packages was memorable—as their hard work and sacrifice are valued and recognized, this had brought big smiles and a boost to their morale.”

The MERIT of Batang NutriAsia

Batang NutriAsia is a corporate program for children of NutriAsia employees who want to know more about their parents’ work. The Salamat BayaNAI program is a culmination of Batang NutriAsia’s MERIT (Malasakit, Excellence, Respect, Ingenuity with Integrity, and Teamwork) pillars, especially Malasakit as it raised awareness of the need to care for others.

Through the Salamat BayaNAI program, NutriAsia children were able to send 3,800 face shields and thank you notes to NutriAsia employees and merchandisers.

NutriAsia Human Resources Group Head Jun Corpus shares that through Batang NutriAsia, they are able to teach children universally critical work and life values to help build a generation of values-led, principled Filipinos set for a brighter future.

By starting and executing initiatives, programs, and projects that involve the family members of NutriAsia employees, the values of the company are further strengthened across the entire family, proving they are truly foundational, action-oriented, can drive results, and ideal in any situation.

Founded in 1991, NutriAsia Group is a powerhouse of beloved, timeless, and iconic Filipino food brands that include Datu Puti, Silver Swan, Mang Tomas, UFC, Papa Catsup, Jufran; UFC Cooking Sauces and Meal Mixes; Golden Fiesta Cooking Oil; and Locally Blended Juice Drink and Merci Buco Coco water.

Feel good this Mother’s Day with this tribute to moms and frontliners

This Mother’s Day may feel a little tougher than usual because of the challenging times we live in, but that doesn’t mean it has to be cancelled this year.

NutriAsia, the leading producer and distributor of sauces and condiments in the Philippines — home of well-loved brands Datu Puti, Silver Swan, UFC, Mang Tomas, and Papa, decided to pay tribute to the wonderful moms who have always been there for us through a funny but heartwarming Mother’s Day video of a son asking his mom for some help in cooking.

NutriAsia pays tribute to wonderful moms this Mother’s Day with a heartwarming video.

In the video, a son calls his mom up because he needs her help in cooking some ulam with some limited ingredients. The mom adorably does her best to teach her son even though using new technology can be challenging for her.

Showing that a mother knows exactly what to do with what she has, the mom shows her son that even with simple ingredients like a can of luncheon meat, a couple of carrots, and some potatoes in the fridge he can cook a Masarap at Masayang menudo, especially with the help of a pouch of UFC Ready Recipes Menudo Sauce she left in her son’s apartment.

UFC Ready Recipes Sauces are a range of ready to use cooking sauces, made from ingredients such as real tomatoes, selected spices and meat flavors. UFC Ready Recipe Sauces are convenient and easy to use. It is pre-mixed and pre-seasoned, and all you have to do is to pour the sauce and let it simmer. It’s available in different variants like Afritada, Menudo, Caldereta and Mechado.

At the end, it’s revealed that she raised a great, caring kid who looks out for others, as it turns out that he was cooking some food to give away to our brave frontliners!

The video is definitely inspiring and perfect for Mother’s Day, as it shows us that our moms do know best and we can always turn to her for help whenever we need it—and, of course, that the best children are raised by the best mothers.

You too can show your mom some love on Mother’s Day! Easily make a Masarap at Masayang meal for her at home this Mother’s Day! You may visit https://nutriasia.com/recipe/ for recipe ideas!

Bring Your Own Bottle and refill your favorite condiments in NutriAsia’s BYOB

Well-loved Pinoy brands such as Datu Puti, Golden Fiesta, UFC, and Locally participated at NutriAsia’s Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) kick-off event held last July 30 at The Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. NutriAsia not only brings joy to Filipino homes through its popular food condiments but also proactively reduces plastic wastes through its initiatives such as the BYOB campaign.

NutriAsia, the home of well-loved Pinoy brands like Datu Puti, UFC, Golden Fiesta and Locally, has been the partner of Filipino homes in levelling up their meal times for years.

As a brand committed to making Masarap Masaya moments for its consumers, it aims not just to bring joy to Filipino homes, but to assume responsibility on a much larger scale through timely efforts that will benefit the environment during these increasingly critical times.

Since 2014, NutriAsia has been taking part in the movement towards a zero-waste community through projects like Jumbohalang Tambalan and participation in DENR-EMB’s Refill Revolution.

This year, NutriAsia carries on with its vision of a more environmentally sustainable world through a project called Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB), which encourages users to bring their own reusable bottles and refill their favorite condiments and products like Datu Puti Vinegar, Datu Puti Soy Sauce, UFC Banana Catsup, and Golden Fiesta Cooking Oil. This simple act is expected to raise awareness on responsible plastic use and help build a zero-waste community as a stepping stone to sustainability.

NutriAsia’s Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) refilling station was built with eco-bricks that use plastic discards as components. These came from the Arca South Eco Hub, a project of Arca South, Green Antz, and Ayala Land Inc. The store also serves as a drop-off point for donated plastic materials to be used for repurposing. BYOB was launched last July 30 and runs until September 12, Mondays through Sundays, 12NN to 8PM at The Mind Museum in BGC.

Through the support of the Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation and The Mind Museum, shoppers can visit and experience the first BYOB refilling station located in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). To participate, consumers have to bring their own clean and dry reusable bottles and have these refilled with their chosen products atdiscounted prices.

BYOB’s store is made from eco-bricks that use plastic discards as a component, and which come from the Arca South Eco Hub, a project of Arca South, Green Antz and Ayala Land Inc. The store will also serve as a drop-off point for plastic materials for repurposing.

NutriAsia, through its Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) advocacy, hopes to create more Masarap Masaya moments by encouraging shoppers to craft their own ideas on how to build zero-waste communities. Until September 12, consumers can visit and experience the first BYOB refilling station at The Mind Museum in BGC, Taguig. BYOB, which was launched last July 30, is open Mondays through Sundays, 12NN to 8PM. For more info, please visit https://nutriasia.com/bring-your-own-bottle

“NutriAsia has been a trusted partner of every Filipino home in making Masarap Masaya meals. We are also happy to share that all proceeds from BYOB, along with the plastic materials donated, will be used to produce upcycled furnishings for our beneficiary, GAT Andres Bonifacio High School,” said James Lim, NutriAsia’s Corporate Marketing and Communications Head

Golden Fiesta Canola Oil: a rich source of cholesterol-reducing ‘phytosterol’

Reduce your body’s cholesterol level by up to 15 percent by choosing Golden Fiesta Canola Oil, made possible by its phytosterol content.

Health talks !

Heart-friendly is probably the last thing on your mind when you reach for the cooking oil in your kitchen shelf, with health buffs giving it a bad rap all these years. It’s time, then, to set things straight: while some cooking oils put your cardiovascular health at risk, others provide essential good fats that our bodies need.

In fact, did you know that some cooking oils reduce your risk of having coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular ailments?

One of the healthiest oils in the market that nutrition experts recommended is canola oil, which contains heart-healthy nutrients called phytosterols, and which is now being offered by leading oil brand Golden Fiesta by NutriAsia.

Golden Fiesta Canola Oil is a rich source of the cholesterol-reducing phytosterols, an all-natural plant extract that can reduce your body’s cholesterol level by up to 15 percent. Scientific studies and trials show that consumption of two grams of phytosterols per day has the potential of diminishing the risk of coronary heart disease, which is one of the leading causes of death worldwide.

According to the 7th DOST-ENRI Nutrition Survey, Filipinos become vulnerable to heart disease as early as age 20 due to unhealthy diets and an increasingly stressful work environment.

The claim that phytosterol-containing food may reduce the risk of heart disease, as sanctioned by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USDA), bolsters the benefits of consuming Golden Fiesta Canola Oil, the substantial phytosterol contents of which help ease the intestinal absorption of dietary cholesterol and facilitate the excretion of biliary cholesterol in the feces.

Made from the seeds of canola flowers, Golden Fiesta Canola Oil is also rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6, which are also beneficial in lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and some types of cancer when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.

Compared to other vegetable oils, canola oil has a low level of uric acid, glucosinolates, and saturated fatty acids and bad fats, making it one of the healthiest and more widely used oils in the market.

Daily consumption of two grams of phytosterol, which is found in Golden Fiesta Canola Oil, may potentially reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, studies show.

So the next time you go the supermarket, choose the cooking oil that is best for your heart—NutriAsia Golden Fiesta Canola Oil!

Health Talks, How Phytosterol in canola oil reduces the risk of coronary heart disease?

Most Filipino families are big fans of fastfood chains that serve fried foods - fried chicken, fried tapa, fried pork liempo and more. They love the crispy-crunchy sound these make with every bite, but they like the delightful taste of fried food—whether it’s chicken, beef, pork or fish—even better.

Reduce your body’s cholesterol level by up to 15 percent by choosing Golden Fiesta Canola Oil, made possible by its phytosterol content.

This trend has raised the alarm among health advocates who associate frying with the liberal use of cooking oil, which is flagged as a product that is detrimental to one’s cardiovascular health.

Fortunately, not all cooking oils are the same, and not all of them are harmful to your body—not when you use the right one.
"Canola is extracted from grapeseed, which is low in uric acid and glucosinolates. Canola is the third largest vegetable oil produced after palm oil and soybean oil."

"Phytosterols, like sterols and stanols, are natural plant-derived compounds that are structurally related to cholesterol."
In fact, scientific studies show that there is actually a heart-healthy nutrient found in canola oil, which lowers one’s bad cholesterol (LDL) level and minimizes one’s risk of acquiring coronary heart disease and hypertension.

Eating fried dishes does not have to be an unhealthy experience with Golden Fiesta’s Canola Oil, which is a rich source of the heart-healthy nutrient phytosterol.

Yes, you read that right—canola oil is a cooking oil that you can use for frying without jeopardizing your heart health.

But first, what is canola and what are the benefits we derive from it?

Canola is extracted from grapeseed, which is low in uric acid and glucosinolates. Thus, while canola oil is characterized by a low level of harmful saturated fatty acids, it has substantial amounts of monounsaturated fatty acids, which are touted to have positive effects on cardiovascular health through the regulation of plasma lipids and proteins.

Fry your favorite fried food without the fear of jeopardizing your own health with Golden Fiesta’s Canola Oil, which boasts of a rich phytosterol content that reduces your body’s cholesterol level.

In 2006, the US Food and Drug Administration declared that “eating about 1½ tablespoons (19 grams) of canola oil daily may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease due to its unsaturated fat content.”

Research published in Nutrition Reviews further reveals five studies that compared canola-based diets with typical Western diets and found evidence that canola was able to reduce total cholesterol levels by an average of 12.2%. This cholesterol-reducing action is made by possible by canola’s phytosterol content.

Golden Fiesta Canola oil is rich in a heart-healthy nutrient called phytosterol, which lowers the body’s cholesterol level and reduces one’s risk of acquiring coronary heart disease.

Phytosterols, like sterols and stanols, are natural plant-derived compounds that are structurally related to cholesterol. Studies have shown that an intake of 2 grams per day of stanols or sterol reduce low-density lipoprotein by 10 percent.

The USDA has also acknowledged that plant sterol or stanol is generally recognized as safe by manufacturers, and has authorized them to claim that foods rich in phytosterol may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease—one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality, not just in the US but in the rest of the world.

Indeed, years of scientific evidence have increasingly bolstered the status of canola oil as one of the healthiest oils we can ever use. This explains why canola is the third largest vegetable oil produced after palm oil and soybean oil, and is also the second most consumed cooking oil in the United States.

Touted as one of the healthiest oils in the world, canola oil is rich in the cholesterol-reducing phytosterol nutrient and has unsaturated fat content.

NutriAsia Golden Fiesta Canola Oil is a good source of phytosterols. Two grams of phytosterols per day may potentially reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
So go ahead and enjoy your favorite fried foods. Just be a smart consumer and choose the cooking oil that is best for you.
