Enstack Empowers Thousands of SMEs Across the Philippines in Ongoing Nationwide Tour; Unleashing the Power of Branded Web Stores

Enstack, the pioneering SME superapp, continues to make waves in its ongoing nationwide tour aimed at educating and empowering the 10 million online sellers in the Philippines. Through strategic collaborations with local government units and the Department of Trade and Industry, Enstack has organized a series of on-ground events in key cities and provinces across the country, including Cebu, Albay, Baguio, Davao, Rizal, Bataan, Batangas, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Aurora, and La Union.

With a mission to streamline the digital transformation journey for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Enstack offers a seamless platform for building branded web stores in just a few steps, enabling businesses to start selling faster and without the hassles of paperwork or complex setup processes. The tour aims to empower SMEs to embrace digital transformation through a series of expert-led workshops and personalized mentoring sessions conducted by the Enstack team. These highly informative sessions provide actionable insights on effectively leveraging Enstack's robust platform and unlocking the potential of branded Web Stores that come equipped with cashless payment options and shipping solutions at sign up.
Enstack reach expands to Mindanao with first-ever merchant program in Davao, attracting over 1,000 merchant sign-ups for digital financing program

In Davao, Cebu, and Bicol, the tour garnered an overwhelming response from the business community, with over 2,000 SMEs enthusiastically attending the workshops in just three days. These entrepreneurs eagerly acquired the knowledge and skills to digitize their businesses through the Enstack app, enabling them to navigate the digital landscape with ease and drive significant business growth.
Supported by the DTI Heads of Market Vendors Association and local Pasalubong Center vendors, Enstack held a 3-day seller event for nearly 500 Baguio-based SMEs.

Macy Castillo, Co-founder and CEO of Enstack, expresses her enthusiasm for reaching underserved SMEs in the provinces and providing them with user-friendly digital tools to build and boost their businesses. She says, "Our goal is to bridge the digital divide and empower SMEs across the Philippines. We understand that many entrepreneurs in the provinces face challenges when it comes to digitization. Enstack aims to provide them with easy-to-use, ready-made digital solutions that eliminate the friction costs of setup and sales, so our merchants are able to build their store faster and sell their products faster. We believe that with proper education and access to the right tools, these SMEs have immense potential to thrive in the digital era."
Enstack team with the local officials and participants of the MSME digitalization workshop in Cebu and Bicol. Over 500 entrepreneurs attended the educational caravans to learn about digitizing their businesses through the Enstack superapp.

According to GlobalData, sales from online transactions in the Philippines are projected to reach P969 billion by 2026, driven by evolving consumer preferences. The government's support for increased adoption of digital platform tools among SMEs has further amplified this growth. The ongoing strategic partnerships between Enstack and local government units, as well as the Department of Trade and Industry, continue to play a crucial role in driving this digitization push, providing SMEs with the necessary resources and guidance to embrace digital transformation.

Enstack's ongoing nationwide tour marks a significant step in empowering SMEs across the Philippines, enabling them to leverage the benefits of having an app with a user-friendly interface, integrated payments, shipping solutions, and a free branded Web Store revolutionizing the SME sector and contributing to the growth of the Philippine digital economy.

Need funds? GCash introduces easy and accessible way to borrow money for different needs

GCash’s suite of lending products GGives, GLoan, and GCredit aims to provide Filipinos with easy and flexible borrowing terms

Almost 5 out of 10 Filipinos have outstanding loans, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) latest Financial Inclusion Survey in 2021. Of this number, day-to-day expenses, emergencies, and fulfilling financial or life goals are the top three reasons why Filipino adults borrow.

However, only two out of ten Filipinos have access to formal financial services offered by banks and government institutions like the Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG, with some resorting to borrowing from individuals or lending companies with unfairly high interest rates.

Moreover, BSP notes that 25% of Filipino adults were forced to use up their savings during the pandemic, which means that on top of having to deal with everyday finances, they may not have enough cash to cover emergency expenses.

In line with its goal of making affordable loans accessible to more Filipinos, e-wallet app, GCash introduces new ways for Filipinos to conveniently manage their finances. On top of using the GCash app to pay bills, send money, buy load or pay for online and in-store purchases, users can now easily borrow money in the form of GLoan, GGives, and GCredit.

“We at GCash are working hard to give every Filipino access to fair loans not just to help them meet their basic needs but also empower them to achieve their life goals,” said Zo Canaria, FUSE Lending Growth Marketing Head. “Through GCash’s in-app innovations, we hope to give Filipinos an easy way to fund the lifestyle they deserve and fulfill long-standing goals they were previously unable to achieve due to financial challenges.”

GLoan: Fast-cash loan offering

GLoan, the loan product of GCash, offers instant cash up to P125,000 straight to eligible users’ GCash wallets, which can be used for starting or expanding a business, cover emergency expenses, celebrate special occasions or even to pay for different necessities. Through GLoan, eligible users can borrow from P1,000 to P125,000 as good as cash, with an interest rate of as low as 1.59%.

To borrow, users simply submit their loan application within the app with no additional documents needed and wait for the loan to be reflected straight to their GCash wallet within 24 hours. The loan can then be paid for as low as P265 a month for 5-24 months.

GGives: Light and easy installment plan

Meanwhile, GGives is GCash’ light and flexible installment plan which allows eligible users to purchase big-ticket items and pay for it in up to 24 months. GGives allows eligible users to purchase items amounting up to P125,000 in one transaction and choose their payment terms in installments from 3, 6, 9, or 12 months and up to 24 gives.

GGives can be used for both in-store and online purchase of selected merchants. Unlike other installment products, GGives does not require additional documents during application and does not need an upfront downpayment and processing fees.

GCredit: Always-ready credit line

GCredit, powered by CIMB, is an always-ready credit line by GCash that can be used to pay for select bills, as well as products and services in-store and online. Eligible users can get up to a Php 50,000 credit line that they can use for bills payment, online buys, and in-store QR purchases to cover everyday expenses.

With GCredit, users are only charged based on the number of days they borrow. This prorated interest means users who pay earlier get charged a lower interest. GCredit’s Minimum Amount Due also allows users to pay as low as 15% of their dues on their billing and/or due date.

To be eligible for GLoan, GGives, and GCredit, users must have a fully verified GCash profile and must maintain a qualified GScore, which is the app’s trust rating reflecting their GCash activity. GScore is the primary basis to qualify for GLoan, GGives, GCredit and enjoy benefits such as lowest interest rates and highest credit line or loan amount.
As your GScore is computed based on GCash activity, users must maintain an active GCash wallet balance by cashing in regularly and using different GCash services. For those who are already using any of the GCash borrow products, such as GLoan, GGives or GCredit, they must pay their dues early or on time to maintain their GScore and be eligible for future credit transactions.

Users may access GLoan, GGives and GCredit through the GCash dashboard or find it under “Borrow.” No GCash yet? Download the GCash App on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery! Kaya mo, i-GCash mo!

6 Nostalgic Lines from movies on Disney+ that Make Sense as an Adult

Rewatch your favorite movies all over again on Disney+ when you #PayWithGCash

We all had our favorite movies when we were kids, along with scenes and characters we will never forget. But sometimes, even stories meant for kids hide a few lines that may not have made sense before but hit harder as an adult.

Rewatching all your favorite movies from your childhood on Disney+ is now made convenient and easy when you #PayWithGCash. From iconic Walt Disney Animation Studio movies like Beauty and the Beast or Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story to the original Star Wars trilogy, you can enjoy these favorites on Disney+ without having to use a credit card or a mobile plan.

If you’re in the mood to walk down memory lane while picking up some pearls of wisdom, here are some lines from movies on Disney+ that really make sense after hearing them again:

“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” - Rafiki, The Lion King (1994)

The Lion King (1994) had a lot of lessons on growing up and acceptance, especially the concept of ‘Hakuna Matata’ or as translated from Swahili, “there are no problems.” But perhaps, this is one of the greatest pieces of advice from Rafiki and applies to many challenges in life you might have had.

From getting over a heartbreak to unresolved arguments with loved ones, it’s up to you to avoid and forget these memories or to examine what you can learn from them and move on.

“Well there’s the usual things: flowers, chocolates… promises you don’t intend to keep.” - Cogsworth, Beauty and the Beast (1991)

Cogsworth had a funny reply to the Beast asking him what he could do for Belle, but in hindsight, this is an interesting take on romance and relationships in general. As you grow old, you might have realized that people might make promises they don’t intend to keep because they want to impress or woo others.

This line is both a warning for you to be wary about grand statements people make but also a reminder for you to only make promises you know you can fulfill.

“You never forget kids like Emily or Andy, but they forget you.” - Jessie, Toy Story 2 (1999)

Have you ever thought about how much you might have impacted someone’s life? When Jessie mulled about how her owner Emily eventually forgot her, it feels just the same with people you lost contact with over the years.

You might have met a teacher or a random stranger who left a big impression on you only for them to fade away, but there are people too, who you’ve greatly touched that you might not even remember. It’s times like these when it’s important to hold onto our memories rather than dwell on the person we’ve lost.

“Do or do not. There is no try.” - Yoda, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

You may have written it off as a funny figure of speech after hearing Yoda say this for the first time but Yoda is wise in his own ways. Success and failure are realities of the world, and all you can do is your best to have more successes than failures.

“Trying” implies that you doubt you can do something and that you aren’t wholly committed to it. Here Yoda reminds us that there will be failures in life but that should not stop you from committing to your goals rather than always keeping one foot out the door.

“Your overconfidence is your weakness.” - Luke Skywalker, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983)

Similar to Yoda’s famous phrase, Luke’s reply to the Emperor during the finale of Return of the Jedi, might have appeared as a simple retort but has a lot of meaning when you look back on it.

Confidence  is important to prevent doubts from clouding your ability to do things but being too confident can also lead to failure. You may miss out on details, like important instructions or extra requirements, refuse to accept further knowledge or fail to see the harm your choices are causing others.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Andrea. Everybody wants this.” - Miranda Priestly,  The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

If you’ve watched The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda Priestly tells Andrea how privileged she should feel about living such a charmed life. However, living a life of luxury where everyone does whatever it takes to get ahead is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Success can have an ugly side at times, and some people will do anything to meet their goals at the expense of others. However, seeing Andrea walkaway after getting out of the car, we realize not everyone wants to have to drag others down to get what they want and you shouldn’t have to go down that path to find your fulfillment.

Hopefully, with time comes a little bit of wisdom and you can find it in the most unexpected places. With Disney+ now available in the Philippines, easily pay for your subscription with GCash and revisit all-time favorites with a different perspective.

#GSafeTayo: GCash to roll out ‘double authentication’ to arrest unauthorized transactions

Signs agreement with PNP-ACG to strengthen fight vs cybercrimes

GCash is set to roll out a new security feature that aims to prevent unauthorized transactions brought about by phishing and other types of scams.

GCash and PNP ACG strengthens collaboration through a revitalized security campaign, #SafewithGCash that aims  to mitigate scam incidents by employing a combination of user education and continuously upgrading its internal security platform to serve its 71 M users.
From L-R: GCash Head of Enterprise Risk Management Bea De Ocampo, GCash Chief Legal Officer, Atty. Maricor Alvarez-Adriano, GCash Chief Customer Officer Winsley Royce Bangit, PBGEN Joel Doria, Director PNP ACG; Police Colonel Bernard Yang

With #GSafeTayo the Philippines’ number one financial app introduced the “double authentication” feature which can ensure that only the account owner has the ability to link his GCash account to a specific device.

“This feature removes customers’ dependence on SMS OTPs which has been exploited by some fraudsters to scam users. It will provide a unique identifier that can’t be phished by scammers. It also provides an additional layer of security to the current SMS OTP,” said Winsley Bangit, Chief Customer Officer of GCash. “We never stop innovating to make sure our 71 million users have the safest and most convenient experience when they use the app.”

GCash has also introduced a new product under its GInsure platform, "Online Shopping Protect". For just P34 per month, get up to Php20,000 in insurance coverage for incomplete deliveries, defective items, accidentally-damaged, or stolen products.

The new offering, which will launch soon on GInsure, is powered by global insurance company, Chubb.

Aside from continuing to beef up its security measures, GCash has also been ramping up its partnership with authorities and regulators to help ensure the whole e-wallet ecosystem is safe for all.

During the #GSafeTayo media launch, GCash also signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) to strengthen collaboration in going after perpetrators involved in phishing, smishing, online fraud, e-scams, vishing, and other cybercrimes that take advantage of GCash users.

“I would like to express my confidence that through our stronger partnership with the PNP-ACG, we will be able to achieve more in the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of cybercrimes. GCash also assures the PNP-ACG that we will do whatever we can in order to successfully implement our agreement,” said GCash Chief Legal Officer Atty. Maricor Alvarez-Adriano.

Through its intensified security campaign under #GSafeTayo, GCash has also been constantly reminding its users to never share their MPIN or OTP, as well as to never click links outside of the GCash app, especially from websites or senders which you have not verified to be legitimate.

In fact, GCash has already removed all clickable links in its official SMS and emails to users to help them determine that when they receive messages with links, then these are scams.

The e-wallet has also migrated transaction notification messages to the in-app inbox and masked the names of send money recipients to further protect the users’ funds and personal data.

Through its revitalized security campaign, GCash is aiming to mitigate scam incidents by employing a combination of user education, increased cooperation with law enforcement agencies, as well as continuously upgrading its internal security platform.

Millions of Small Businesses Get Free Online Store from SME Superapp Enstack

Enstack launches Web Store to help SMEs open an online shop and become a fully digital business

SME superapp Enstack is offering a new sales channel to its merchants in a bid to expand their customer reach online. All verified superapp merchants will have a free, ready-to-use Web Store with integrated payment options including COD and shipping.

This rounds off Enstack’s sales channels as merchants can now sell online via Web Store and Chat Store and offline via its Cashier miniapp. Merchants have the ability to fulfill orders on the superapp’s “All Orders'' page while inventory is synced real time.

According to DTI, only 34% of SMEs in the Philippines are online due to lack of knowledge and high costs. One of these SMEs, Wok’s Tapsihan, found setting up an online shop complex and commission fees too costly. Owner Abigail Gondra explored different options, but it was Enstack’s free, no-code Web Store that made it possible to open an online storefront, increase sales, and improve operations. “Opening an online store and reaching more customers used to be just a dream. Now, by just uploading our inventory onto Enstack, we can venture into ecommerce for the first time and are very happy to see new sukis enjoy our tapsilog,” shares Gondra.

Since launching in February, Enstack has helped tens of thousands of underserved MSMEs through its free, easy-to-use superapp that brings together all the tools they need to run their business from their mobile phone. By transforming offline tasks such as managing orders, invoicing, shipping packages, and tracking businesses’ performance, SMEs can keep up with today’s highly digital business landscape.

“At Enstack, finding the right digital tools can be difficult for any business. Frequent and regular dialogues with our SME community allow us to add and improve features to our simple but powerful app that helps solve unique problems faced by small businesses. Our no-code, ready-to-use Web Store fits very well with our overall mission of serving our merchants so they can become fully digital and see their businesses take off,” Macy Castillo, Managing Director of Enstack.

Enstack's free Web Store does not require any coding skills and integrates all Enstack tools and services such as payments and logistics, reducing barriers MSMEs face when starting an ecommerce business. As soon as merchants upload inventory data, their Web Stores are generated and they can share their personalized URL to customers or social media pages to drive traffic and conversion. Merchants can also turn on “Vacation Mode” if they choose to go offline to optimize or take a break. Enstack is available to download free from Google Play and the App Store.

About Enstack
Enstack is a fast, free, and easy-to-use SME superapp that provides entrepreneurs with all operational, logistical, and financial tools they need in a single platform. The superapp allows small and medium businesses to take their first leap towards digitization by letting them manage orders, track inventory, get paid, ship packages, and record daily business transactions on their mobile phones.

TikTok celebrates Valentine's day by launching the #BeCyberSmart global tool kit

TikTok, the leading destination for short-form mobile video, is excited to celebrate this year's Valentine's Day. With more than 225B video views about #love, the world is buzzing with feelings this season. As more people turn online to find companionship, TikTok is committed to educating our community about the dangers of cybercriminals posing as a potential love interest online. Follow these security tips:

• Take it slow - Ask questions and pay attention to inconsistencies that might reveal your online romantic interest is an impostor.

• Do your homework - Conduct a reverse image search of your online partner's profile photo (you can use images.google.com). If the results show the same profile photo on another site or with a different name attached, a scammer may have stolen it.

• Don't play games - Don't give away too much personal information to someone you only know online, and be extra cautious of people who make repeated attempts to meet up with you in person.

• Never show 'em the money - You should never send payment or agree to accept money from someone you've only met online or by phone.

• Listen to your heart, follow your head - If something seems amiss or you suspect someone you met online isn't who they say they are, cut off all contact immediately and report to the relevant authorities.

GDay everyday with bigger, better GlobeOne Super App

Globe launches the new GlobeOne Super App, a platform that aims to consolidate the customer experience for Globe, TM, Globe At Home WiFi, and MyFi subscribers with prepaid accounts in just one app.

From linking multiple accounts for easy monitoring, to managing consumer transactions such as buying load, redeeming rewards, and availing exclusive promos, the super app can practically do it all for subscribers.

“We always find ways on how we can innovate and better serve our customers. With the launch of the new GlobeOne super app, we are empowering our subscribers through simplified processes and convenient customer experience,” said Juuya Reyes, Product Owner of the new GlobeOne App.

The simplified dashboard functions as the subscribers’ home base for total account management, where users can view and monitor current promo subscriptions for data, content, call, and text. Meanwhile, the shop section allows users to buy, send, and request load or credits.

Registered account holders can simply select which accounts they want to monitor, and all details will be displayed on the app dashboard.

Reyes clarified that the initial launch is specific to prepaid subscribers, with postpaid accounts expected to be onboard within balance year 2021.
