Like celebrities do, lets start the year healthy with Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus!

As life gets back into full swing after the holiday season, it is time to get back on track with our diets after the hearty fare of the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The start of a new year is a perfect time to eat right, and you will be well on your way to have and maintaining a healthy body.

My personal goals are to be happy, healthy and to be surrounded by loved ones. I just want to be healthy and stay alive and keep my family going healthy and strong.

The simplest way to shed the excess pounds brought by the holiday feasts is to eat meals that are healthy like seafood.

Some celebrities start the year 2015 healthy with Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus.

TV host, actress, and businesswoman Regine Tolentino likes the Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus because it makes her feel full, and it comes in a ready-to-cook form.
Regine Tolentino and Marina Benipayo

“I just have to take it out from the freezer and heat it, and my family has a delicious and healthy meal. Given the kind of busy schedule I have every day, which leaves me with no time to cook or make relleno from scratch, the Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus is like an answered prayer for me,” Tolentino said

When it comes to her diet, Regine consciously stays away from fatty foods and certain other foods, such as rice, bread and pasta, which are all forms of carbohydrates. She eats a lot of vegetables, which have become her rice, and keeps her meat consumption to the minimum. For her protein, she goes more for chicken and fish, and Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus has become her favorite.

Model-turned actress Marina Benipayo shared why she likes the Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus for two reasons: first, it is baked and not fried, unlike other rellenong bangus; second, it cuts down considerably on the fat without sacrificing flavor. In fact, you can indulge on Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus and not feel guilty afterwards.

Marina and her relatives enjoyed the Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus in one reunion. She enthuses, “They said it was the best Rellenong Bangus they ever tasted because it was so full. They could really see the peas, carrots, and all the other ingredients. The flavor is there.”

Marina shares she grew up with a diet rich in fish, chicken and vegetables. In pot lucks, where other visitors brought fatty main dishes composed mainly of meat, she would bring salads. Faced with buffet spreads, she stayed away from red meat and opted for fish.

A superb way of bringing fish to the dinner table is with Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus!

This tasty treat is made with a whole bangus that has been prepared with utmost care to keep its freshness and sweet flavor and will surely delight the whole family.

Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus was specially concocted by renowned celebrity chef Reggie Aspiras, assuring homemakers of a choice product that is fit to be served in any fine dining establishment.

It comes in three sizes to suit your needs: 800 grams, 1.1 kilos, and 1.3 kilos. A whole fish could easily feed a party of 12 diners, depending on the size of relleno you choose. The whole bangus is stuffed with a savory filling of fish, sweet potato, bangus belly and shrimp.

Fisher Farms grows its milkfish in the pristine seawaters of Pangasinan in fish cages for a sweeter, more flavorful, firmer and cleaner fish. Only high protein feeds are given to farmed fish to produce high-quality fish meat.

Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus is available in leading supermarkets in Metro Manila and around the country.

These eating healthy options will help you lose weight and keep it off. You’ll boost your willpower, slim down, and shape up for good. Enjoy the fish and be healthy!

Flawless Healing When Scar's The Limit

Health and beauty are gifts from nature. Beauty from within is essential, but taking care of our outside appearance is also important.

As our skin is what the world sees of us, we all want our skin to look good. If your skin is clear and healthy looking, it makes you feel good about yourself. For most people, effective skin care is actually a pretty simple process.

But having scars makes people very conscious. Scars are unsightly things that should be hidden or removed as much as possible.
Dr. Hector M. Santos, Jr.

Even small injuries can leave unsightly scars. Severe scalding can easily lead to lasting scars. A Caesarean section is a surgical procedure that leaves a scar. pimples are found on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne is not a serious health threat, but it can cause scars.  Acne is the most common skin disease. Even the removal of a birthmark always leaves a wound behind, which can lead to the occurrence of an unsightly scar.

There are emotional and psychological burden experiencing by most people. Scars often have a stronger impact on especially, women.

A whirl of emotions can develop around a scar.

- Uncertainty, fear, anger, hopelessness. Scars can start to restrict daily life and damage confidence.
- Insecurity when the scar is visible to others
- Fear that a fresh scar could become infected
- Anger about the cause of the scar
- Worry about the loss of beauty
- Pain both physical and emotional
- Feelings of guilt about having allowed the injury to happen
- Disgust when seeing or touching the scar
- Sadness about the limits the scar places on everyday life
Dr. Christopher Christian P. Aro / Dr. Jose Joven V. Cruz / Dr. Hector M. Santos, Jr.
Here are the reasons why there are patients who avoid undergoing surgery. Women with scars, particularly, often feel a loss of attractiveness and femininity, associate negative emotions with scars, and feel insecure in their own skin.

Studies have shown that scars can affect a person's physical comfort and functioning, self-acceptance, acceptance by others, social functioning, emotional wellbeing, and confidence in the nature and management of the condition.

When exactly is the right time to start scar treatment? And how long do I have to treat a scar? Early treatment is the best way to prevent scars. Your doctor may suggest over-the-counter (OTC) or prescription drugs. Some acne medicines are put right on the skin. Other medicines are pills that you swallow. The doctor may tell you to use more than one medicine.

For many years, Contractubex has been found to be very effective in treating inauspicious and movement restricting scars.

The gel can be used to treat both recent and old scars caused by a phyical accidents, a burn or scald, an acid burn, a vaccination, acne or operation.

Contractubex is a highly effective treatment for all scar types. It actively promotes the healing process of the skin and reduces scarring from within.

The scar gel with the triple effect:

- Prevents the formation of excessive scar tissue
- Reduces redness, itching and the feeling of tension
- Makes the scar smoother and improves elasticity

For best possible results, start treatment as soon as the wound is closed or the stitches are removed. This ensures that your scar will become so fine that you will hardly see or feel it.

Treatment depends on the scar size, freshness of scar and the conditions of scars etc. Large, hard and old scars may need 3-6 months or even longer treatment. Treatment of scar requries a high degree of persverance and active participation by patient in order to achieve a noticable result.

Every year, over 200 million incisions are made on children and adults worldwide. About 30% of those procedures result in pathologic (hypertrophic or keloidal) scars. If the wound healing is undisturbed, one may end up with a normal "fine line" scar. Unfortunately, alterations in the healing process could result to ugly scarring.

Dr. Gene Gerald San Juan Tiongco / Dr. Hector M. Santos, Jr. /  Ms. J. Ann Mirasol / Dr. Jose Joven V. Cruz / Dr. Christopher Christian P. Aro
Dr. Hector M. Santos, Jr., currently the president of the Phil. Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon. and his colleagues had the assembly recently held at the Makati Shanrila Hotel. During the talks of Dr. Santos, he said that surgery is only half the battle because patients should continue healing with an effective scar treatment for a successful recovery.

Dr. Santos, Jr., also shared to us during the interview, "scarring could be prevented if a wound is treated at the right time with the right product."

Extract Cepae + Heparin Sodium + Allantoin (Contractubex) has been used to treat scars successfully for over 50 years in over 60 countries. It is regularly recommended by doctors all around the world with its efficacy already proven in numerous clinical studies. Its unique combination of three active ingredients works its way deep into the scar to reduce the mark from within and results to a nearly invisible blemish.
Dr. Hector M. Santos, Jr.
Dr. Santos recommended and stressed that the gel should be applied on a closed and non-infected wound. This is a very effective preventive measure especially for individuals who are prone to developing keloids.

"Start applying about a week after your operation, two to three days after the stitches were removed," he said.

"It is importatnt using Contractubex at the right time," he added. The product is well-tolerated, even when used for long periods, and local adverse reactions are very rare.

Treatment can be started just days after wound closure, or 8-10 days after an operation.

For old and hard scars, it is recommeded that the scar be covered with Contractubex and a bandage overnight to enhance deep prenatration of the active ingredients.

Dr. Santos said that Contractubex could still be applied on old scars as iit could help improve scar appearance but results are not as good as when applied on fresh scars. Contractubex is more than 75% effective in avoiding having itchy red scars.

Regarding big scars, however, they can be surgically removed and treated with Contractubex to greatly improve how they look.

Fresh scars should never be exposed to direct sunlight. The scar formation process is not yet complete, and the sun's rays may adversely affect the sensitive scar tissue while it is forming.

This scar gel can
- reduce the size of scars
- reduce the difference in color between the scar and surrounding skin
- prevent excessive scar tissue formation
- improve symptoms such as itching, tension, and pain
- reduce the likelihood of hypertrophic scars or keloids developing.

It is generally used after abrasions, cuts or lacerations; surgeries; burns or scalds; and laser treatments such as tattoo removal.

Whether you're concerned about scarring from a cut, scrape, stitches, or even a small surgical wound or acne, here are the two simple resolutions will ensure successful treatment:

Resolution 1: Use Contractubex as soon as the wound has closed or the stitches have been removed.
Resolution 2: Use Contractubex 2 to 3 times a day for at least 3 to 6 months.

Treating scars successfully by Contractubex.

Contractubex is manufactured by Merz Pharma Group, a company with a passion for research and innovation in the areas of aesthetic medicine and dermatology as well as in the field of neurologically induced movement disorders.

Contractubex is distributed and marketed in the Philippines by Merz's local partner, Zuellig Pharmalink.

It is available in leading drugstores nationwide.

Malasimbo 2015: A Double Weekend of Festivities on March 6-8 and 13-15

The festival weaves Music, Arts, Dance, Environment, and Indigenous Culture into one life-changing adventure.

Get ready for great surprises and parties! To celebrate Malasimbo’s 5th year anniversary, Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro is getting ready to host thousands of music, art, dance and nature lovers over two weekends.

The magic of great festivities and eco-cultural preservation is back. Last January 22, Malasimbo 2015 details was shared during the Press Conference held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival is set to happen on March 6-8 and the first Malasimbo Lights and Dance Festival is happening on March 13-15, 2015.

What Malasimbo music and arts festival that sets it apart from all other festivals?

With a lineup that will boast an array of electronic and indie acts, the festival blends traditional & contemporary arts & culture together with music performances while working towards the protection & sustainability of the environment.

Every year, people from all walks of life seek the Malasimbo Magic. The festival continues to grow into a global phenomenon, with more than 5,000 people from over 30 countries in attendance in 2014.

It is the Philippines’ first event of its caliber, and is a top attraction in the Department of Tourism’s campaign, “Visit the Philippines Year 2015.” Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival is the official event featured for March on DOT’s Visit The Philippines 2015 Calendar.

This year, for the first time ever, Malasimbo awed the fans as they revealed a second weekend – March 13-15 – with a whole new concept. The Malasimbo Lights and Dance Festival caters more to the youth with a focus on hip hop, house and electronic music, enhanced with amazing dance performances and state of the art light shows.

Eco-cultural activities

Behind the festivities, eco-cultural preservation is an integral part of the Malasimbo Experience. With The d’Aboville Foundation, the festival promotes mangrove tree planting, the use of solar power, the protection of the endangered Tamaraw in partnership with French organisation NoĂ© Conservation, coastal cleanups, and other ongoing projects within Puerto Galera — member of the “Most Beautiful Bays in the World.”

At the heart of Malasimbo is the Mangyan village, where exhibits and workshops showcase their rich culture and beautiful crafts. The demo Mangyan village, built by Mangyan craftsmen in 2010, is a permanent feature of the Malasimbo Grounds, and showcases the 7 Mangyan tribes of Mindoro. Each tribe is represented through life-size houses respecting their original architecture.

The Malasimbo brand keeps getting stronger over the years. In 2011, the first Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival became a catalyst for a boom in contemporary festival culture in the Philippines. With its natural amphitheater boasting of coconut trees, grass-terraces, the tropical breeze, coupled with the view of the world famous Puerto Galera Bay, there really is no other venue like Malasimbo.

The festival weaves Music, Arts, Dance, Environment, and Indigenous Culture into one life-changing adventure.

Visual Arts

The Sculpture Garden at Malasimbo is a witness to the festival’s love for the visual arts. The grounds have been blessed by the beautiful works of talented contemporary artists, mostly Filipino but attracting foreign artists as well. In four years, more than 40 artists including Agnes Arellano, Wawi Navarroza, Ling Quisumbing Ramilo and Leeroy New, have used the venue as their canvas for their art installations.

As a 5th Anniversary special, over 30 artists will showcase their works. Whether permanent or degradable, loud or discreet, phantasmagoric or natural, interactive or silent, the works all have a synergy with the mountain, the landscape, the wind, the ocean or the festival’s creative energy.

Entertainment

Known for quality sound, the Malasimbo Amphitheater is praised by musicians and music lovers. The many acts that have played, including living legends Jimmy Cliff, Roy Ayers, Joe Bataan, Joss Stone, Robert Glasper and Jose Gonzalez, were entranced by the beauty and energy of the place. The stage is also abundant with local talent hailing from the different parts of the Philippines. It has become a platform where collaboration between international and homegrown music can ring around the island.

On March 6-8, Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival is scheduled to attract its loyal attendees from all over the world, excited to listen to Ky-Mani Marley, son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley. The international lineup also includes Fred Wesley and the New J.B.s, led by the former band director of iconic artist James Brown, the Godfather of soul and funk music. Taylor McFerrin, son of popular vocalist Bobby (“Don’t Worry, Be Happy”) McFerrin is a Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, keyboardist and beatboxer that released his debut album, Early Riser on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder record label.

Tom Thum, a world famous beatboxer with the most viewed TEDx video in the world with over 30 million views.

More artists, both local and international, are completing the exciting lineup: French Kiwi Juice (France), GOCOO + GORO (Japan) Taiko Drum Band, our own Brigada, Noli Aurillo, Akasha, Bleu Rascals, Adinkra Lumads Djembe Community, Crwn, and many more to be announced soon!

New attractions

Exciting additions to watch out for the 5th Anniversary—Malasimbo pulls neighbouring cities (Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao and Boracay) closer; Malasimboat parties up-the-ante for festival-day-programs, and in between the two weekends—Malasimbo will stay alive hosting activities for Puerto Galera’s local community.

The Malasimbo Festival is an experience-driven event—regardless of the lineup of acts, one is sure to have an unforgettable time. The biggest headliner in Malasimbo is Malasimbo, and for those who seek culture, adventure, and magic, this is the place to discover it.

Partners

Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival wouldn’t be possible if not for our major sponsors and partners Ipanema, VISA, Department of Tourism, Ticketworld, Stage Craft, Fox International Channels Asia, Yahoo Philippines, Grid Magazine, Mabuhay Magazine, Scout Magazine, ABS-CBN Publishing Inc., Metro Society and Metro.

5th Anniversary Special: Malasimbo Lights and Dance Festival

In an industry where sustainable development is at times overlooked, Malasimbo Festival has proven to be a solid name to stay for decades, which will continue giving innovation and quality entertainment to its loyal fans and its organically-growing audience. In celebration of the 5th Anniversary, the Malasimbo family proudly introduces an entirely new concept that is already creating a buzz with the youth: The Malasimbo Lights & Dance Festival, set on March 13-15.

Why two weekends?

Malasimbo Festival hosts more than 5,000 people from over 30 countries. Having a 10-day affair encourages international tourists to stay at least 10 days in Mindoro and the Philippines. This further activates Malasimbo’s eco-cultural tourism efforts, and allows tourists to fully discover all of the amazing activities & sights the Philippines have to offer.

At the rate of Malasimbo Festival’s growth parallel to Puerto Galera’s limited accommodating capacity, creating a 2nd weekend and ultimately longer Malasimbo Experience helps maintain convenience for our audience and gives local tourism a greater return. We have a capped capacity and we want to ensure safety for all.

The Malasimbo Lights & Dance Festival caters to a specifically targeted market – the millenials – and offers an immersive feast of state-of-the-art light shows enhanced with contemporary and traditional dance performances, full-circled with hip hop, house and electronic music that is most relevant to the youth of today.

Performing acts

Dance organizations are given a prime spot at the festival in celebration of the 5th Anniversary: Philippine All Stars, Planet Zips Luminaries, Daloy Dance Company and more to grace the Malasimbo stage.

Quality music is, of course, another key element of the Malasimbo Lights & Dance Festival. A talented selection of DJs, both local and international, is guaranteed to make you dance all night. DJ Kentaro, DJ Mitsu the Beats, To-Ru, HiFaNa, and Tetsuji Tanaka & MC Cardz are flying in straight from Japan, accompanied by many great acts: Swindle (UK), Manolet Dario, Mikail, Br3aking Silence, Emel Rowe, and Lyrically Deranged Poets to bring Philippines’ finest in hip hop today; many more notable acts soon to be announced.

Partners

Malasimbo Lights & Dance Festival is a collaboration between Malasimbo Productions and Japan’s BassCamp festival run by Dj Kentaro. For this, the Malasimbo family thanks our Japanese partners Groundstar+, Basscamp, Asia Unite, and GOJA Cafe. Malasimbo Lights and Dance Festival wouldn’t be possible without our other major sponsors: Ipanema, Ticketworld, Stage Craft, Department of Tourism, Fox International Channels Asia, Yahoo Philippines, Grid Magazine, Mabuhay Magazine, Meg, Scout Magazine, and ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., Chalk, Metro.

Party high-up in the mountains for Malasimbo's 5th anniversary double weekend special!

As we celebrate MUSIC, ARTS and NATURE at Malasimbo Festival, there is so much to see and explore in the tropical paradise. Indeed, it is more fun in the Philippines!
