Eraserheads: Combo On The Run makes history as the first Philippine documentary at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2025

The acclaimed documentary is also the first Philippine-produced film to grace the prestigious comic book and multi-entertainment convention

Eraserheads: Combo On The Run is set to make history as the first Filipino-produced film and the first music documentary to screen at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in 2025.

In a historic milestone for both Philippine cinema and the global music documentary scene, the film will not only be screened at SDCC but will also be featured in a panel discussion that will take place in Exhibit Hall 6BCF, an esteemed venue typically reserved for major titles in entertainment and pop culture. The panel will be led by director and producer Diane Ventura and joined by Ely Buendia, iconic frontman of the legendary Filipino rock band Eraserheads and a central figure in the documentary.

The presence of the Filipino docufilm at this venue marks a powerful moment of cultural crossover and artistic recognition, a feat that will surely bring pride and joy to the Philippines.

“I’m incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to represent our people and country on a more global platform,” said Ventura. “It’s long been my dream to spotlight the ingenuity of Filipino art, talent, and creativity and to be part of a movement that reframes the Filipino narrative. This is also my way of putting out a more nuanced and extensive depiction of our people while bringing to light the richness, humor, and depth of our stories.”

Upon its theatrical release in Philippine cinemas this summer under Warner Bros., the Dvent Pictures-produced Eraserheads: Combo On The Run received widespread acclaim from film critics and audiences alike. Billboard called it “a moving documentary for the younglings discovering their music and longtime fans reconnecting with the songs that defined their generation,” while GMA News hailed it as a “history lesson on an important chapter of Pinoy pop culture.” The film’s success at home led to multiple theatrical run extensions, screening in almost 200 cinemas nationwide.

In celebration of its SDCC debut, Kid Heroes Publications has also announced a special collaboration with the Eraserheads and DVent Pictures through a limited-edition one-shot comic book inspired by the film.

Inspired by the band’s documentary of the same name, the comic book reimagines the band’s semi-fictional journey through four unique stories told in an anthology format.

Illustrated by award-winning artists Raymund Lee, Felix Morales, and Ardie Aquino, and written by Patricio Ginelsa and Justin Quizon, Combo On The Run integrates music and mythology into an adventurous tale of musicians turned superheroes, making the world a better place one step at a time—thanks to their record-breaking hits, heroic deeds, and zombie-fighting missions.

The comic book features two exclusive cover designs by prominent Filipino American artists. Known for his influential  work on Marvel titles such as The Punisher, X-Factor, Uncanny X-Men, and Iron Man, Whilce Portacio illustrated the Combo On The Run comic book cover, created exclusively for the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con edition. Meanwhile, Stephen Segovia, who made his mark on the international stage through his collaborations with DC Comics, lent his artistry to the SuperManila Exclusive edition.

Fans can pre-order the comic book now via the official Kid Heroes website.

Eraserheads Combo on the Run will be screened in theaters worldwide in 2025.

From brain fart ideas to milestone wins, the realme 14 Pro Series 5G is built to keep up with every kind of moment

Life rarely stays in one lane, and sometimes, the shift is a beautiful thing. Late-night study sessions can lead to academic awards and medals. Weekend side hustles can grow into full-time dreams. Even those random ideas that come up while stuck in traffic or brushing one’s teeth can blossom into creative content, passion projects, or even businesses.

Through every transition, the realme 14 Pro Series 5G stands quietly supportive, ready to grow with whoever holds it. Whether it’s the high-end realme 14 Pro+ 5G or the solid and stylish realme 14 Pro 5G, both are designed to complement every moment.

Aesthetics that Never Go Out of Style

Good design never screams. It settles in naturally, on a café table, beside a laptop, or in someone’s hand like the Suede Grey and Pearl White colorways of the realme 14 Pro Series 5G. They don’t beg for attention, but they never go unnoticed. The Pearl White variant even adds a playful twist, with a cold-sensitive back that shifts to a marbled blue below 16°C.

Beyond the surface, both phones offer immersive visuals. The realme 14 Pro+ 5G features a 6.83" quad-curved OLED display with 1.5K resolution, while the realme 14 Pro 5G comes in slightly smaller at 6.77" with a curved FHD+ OLED screen, providing fans with stunning clarity and rich contrast when watching or gaming.

Performance That Understands Ambition

From launching a brand to juggling school and side hustles, the realme 14 Pro Series 5G is built for the ambitious. The 14 Pro+ 5G, with its Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, handles heavy tasks with ease, while the 14 Pro 5G’s Dimensity 7300 Energy chip is perfect for daily use. With up to 512GB storage, 26GB dynamic RAM, and a 6000mAh battery, both phones deliver all-day performance. For quick top-ups, the realme 14 Pro+ 5G features 80W fast charging, reaching 50% in under 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the 14 Pro 5G offers 45W SUPERVOOC charging, which is fast enough to power up during a coffee break.

A Camera System That Captures Small and Big Wins

Not every photo is about aesthetics. Some are about moments – messy, meaningful, blink-and-you’ll miss-it moments.

The realme 14 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a triple Sony camera setup, including a 50MP OIS main lens, a periscope-style telephoto lens for an impressive zoom range, and an ultra-wide lens for capturing travel days and group shots. Whether it’s shooting golden hour portraits in BGC, a photo of someone’s newly opened cafe, a medal, or a wacky shot with the gang, the results feel sharp, vibrant, and clear.

Meanwhile, the realme 14 Pro 5G also delivers beautiful shots with its 50MP main sensor, enhanced by realme’s powerful AI modes such as Snap Mode (for capturing fast-moving subjects), AI Ultra Clarity 2.0 (for instantly removing blur), and yes, even Underwater Mode that let’s users record videos underwater at depths of up to 1.5 meters.

Built for the Unexpected

Life throws curveballs. Rainstorms during errands. Spilled drinks during editing sessions. Beach sand, dusty roads, or the dreaded bathroom drop. That’s why both phones carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, meaning they’re dust-tight and water-resistant, even against high-pressure water jets. Add military-grade shock resistance and TÜV Rheinland certification, and fans get a smartphone that’s not just stylish, but also built to perform, rain or shine.

The realme 14 Pro 5G is available for P21,999, while the flagship realme 14 Pro+ 5G retails for P27,999, in all partner stores nationwide. As part of realme’s freebie giveaway promo, every purchase of the realme 14 Pro Series 5G until July 18, entitles buyers to get a free realme Buds T310 or realme Buds T300 worth up to PHP 1,999.

What happens when world-class esports meets homegrown Filipino heart? You get a powerhouse partnership that’s all about talent, passion, and pushing boundaries. DITO Telecommunity, the country’s fastest growing telco player, proudly announces its partnership with Team Liquid Philippines, in a move that places Filipino gaming talent front and center on the global esports map. This is more than just a team-up. It’s a shared mission: to empower the next generation of Filipino gamers, dreamers, and digital champions.

As part of its GALING DITO movement, a platform dedicated to uplifting Filipino creativity, grit, and excellence, DITO is backing one of the world’s most respected esports organizations to showcase what true Filipino galing can achieve.

A New Era for Filipino Esports

On June 1, Team Liquid PH made headlines after an unforgettable 7-game showdown against defending world champs Onic Philippines to clinch the MPL Season 15 crown. Now, they’re setting their sights on the Esports World Cup in Riyadh this July–August, carrying the Philippine flag with them.

And they’re not jumping into the fight alone. They will have a solid and reliable wingman, the #1 Rated Mobile Network in the country, as awarded by Ookla.

With DITO Telecommunity fervently behind Team Liquid, this winning partnership aims to amplify not just the wins for their motherland, but their stories—the long hours, the dedication, and the Filipino “galing” that makes them more than just players, but heroes of the nation.

“This partnership with Team Liquid is a powerful statement of belief in Filipino excellence. As heralded by our GALING DITO platform, we’re investing in the dreams and talents of Filipino gamers who are ready to take on the global stage. Through this collaboration, we aim to showcase our homegrown talents and to truly show the world what “GALING DITO” truly means,” said Jasper Evangelista, Brand Management Director of DITO Telecommunity.

With the support of DITO’s cutting-edge 5G network, the team will have access to blistering high-speed, low-latency performance most especially when they are competing globally or grinding ranked games at home. This partnership isn’t just symbolic; it’s powered by technology designed to perform at the highest level.

Galing from here. Greatness for the world.

Behind the jerseys are familiar names: KarlTzy, Sanford, Sanji, Oheb, and Jaypee—players who’ve become legends in the MLBB scene, and inspirations to millions of young fans. But Team Liquid isn’t stopping there. Their Women’s Team, fresh off a strong finish in the Athena League, and their MDL (development league) squad are also ready to make waves globally.

This collaboration with Team Liquid perfectly mirrors the spirit of GALING DITO: a movement fueled by Filipino pride, local excellence, and global ambition.

Shared Vision, Shared Values

At its core, “GALING DITO” symbolizes Philippine pride and excellence in its two inherent meanings: “TALENT HERE” and “FROM HERE.” It’s a celebration of Filipino creativity, whether you’re on stage, on screen, or in the heat of an esports battle.

And Team Liquid? Their global vision of inclusivity, passion, and individuality perfectly mirrors that. They believe that “cool comes from creativity,” and that in their world, “being a little weird and different is a strength.”

That kind of energy? It’s exactly what GALING DITO was built for.

Fueled by DITO 5G

DITO’s robust 5G Standalone (SA) network provides the ideal platform for modern gaming, enabling ultra-fast speeds, ultra-low latency, and seamless online play. For Filipino gamers, streamers, and esports athletes, this technology turns aspirations into action. This allows for competitive play from living rooms to global arenas.

This is Just the Beginning

With GALING DITO and Team Liquid joining forces, Filipino gaming talent is poised for its biggest year yet. Because when Filipino talent shines, the world watches.
