Do you know Saridon? Is it Effective or not?

We must search for the best medicines to provide pain relief of  body aches and headaches. I didn’t do this for the past years because I just took famous name of paracetamol medicines. But after I survived an operation (with Brain Anuerysm)  last year, I always do research for the best medicines to take on the times of headaches and body aches.

Saridon is an analgesic specially made for treating headaches. It is the headache specialist because it is specifically formulated to target persistent headaches. It provides fast and effective relief from mild to severe headaches. Saridon’s unique formula enables it to provide significant pain relief in as fast as 15 minutes. Studies have shown that Saridon is more effective than individual doses of ibuprofen, paracetamol, and aspirin.

Each Saridon tablet contains:
Paracetamol   (250 mg) - Paracetamol helps reduce fever and pain while providing long lasting relief.

Propyphenazone (150 mg) - Propyphenazone is an anti-inflammatory used to treat mild to moderate pain, like headaches, quickly.

Caffeine (50 mg) - Caffeine, when combined with other analgesics, improves their effects.

Paracetamol, Propyphenazone and Caffeine work together. Propyphenazone and Paracetamol are ingredients that provide pain relief. They complement each other well because Propyphenazone works quickly but loses its effect fast, while Paracetamol takes effect slowly but a has a longer lasting effect. The 3rd ingredient, Caffeine improves the effects of the other two ingredients. With it, the analgesics work better by 41%.

It is said that Saridon works faster and provides better pain relief than Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Aspirin.

I read an article about Saridon written by Janette Toral in the Sunstar Cebu titled Toral : Drug Safety. The article is specifically about a medicine for headaches. As I continue my research on Saridon, here something caught my interest. True that this is an important matter for us all.  Saridon allegedly being unsafe, due to one of its ingredient, propyphenazone that may have side effects. Medicines should be restricted on specific cases.

There are countries like , Malaysia, Korea, Sri Lanka and Turkey, Saridon medicine which has Propyphenazone content is now banned.  But here in the Philippines, it's still available.

I have read articles with complains and worries about this medicine - Saridon.
I searched for more thru Youtube. I will continue to find answers to our worries for our health.

I hope that Department of Health and Bayer provide us more information about the propyphenazone ban in other countries and why it's available in the Philippines. This is a public health matter.

Sarah Geronimo's Latest Album "Pure OPM Classics"

The country’s Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo has officially launched her latest album, “Pure OPM Classics” under Viva Records.

Sarah’s  music is generally pop and sings songs mostly about love. Her voice is premier and her music encompasses all genres. Sarah Geronimo’s first love - music. She may be busy with her own TV show and brand endorsements, but when it comes to music, Sarah always find the time. She’s wholesome on and off camera. Sarah’s very successful concert showcased the various facets of her personality.
Sarah new album “Pure OPM Classics,” as she shows respects to the great OPM songs of our time. This features revisions to OPM classics which were popularized during the '70s and the '80s.

Those familiar with Sarah G’s work would know that the Popstar Princess has had her share of song covers over the years thru the course of several albums, but “Pure OPM Classics” is special. This is Sarah’s first concept album and the idea is for Sarah to lend those beautiful sounding pipes to some of the most memorable songs of the OPM canon. The producers of the album has been keen for some time now for Sarah to sing the best of what ‘70s and ‘80s-era OPM can offer and now it has become a reality with “Pure OPM Classics.”

Her albums I love and followed – One Heart,   Popstar: A Dream Come True , Just Me, Can This Be Love, Becoming, Bituing Walang Ningning , Music and Me, OPM, Pangarap na Bituin, Sweet Sixteen, Taking Flight, The Other Side, and Your Christmas Girl.

Sarah Geronimo’s great songs destined to be one of the favorites among Sarah’s growing catalog of albums “Pure OPM Classic.”
Sarah Geronimo - Pure OPM Classics Album
1. Handog
2. Umagang Kay Ganda
3. Panalangin
4. Doon Lang
5. Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin
6. Tao
7. Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran
8. Malayo Pa Ang Umaga
9. Sana
10. Hanggang Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan
11. Kay Ganda Ng Ating Musika
12. Anak

Opening the album is Sarah’s take on the Florante original “Handog.” You can be sure that this gem will be “the gift” that Sarah would give to all the lovers of original Pinoy music, but this is just the start. Next in “Pure OPM Classics” are a pair of magnificent pop songs in “Umagang Kay Ganda” and APO Hiking Society’s “Panalangin.”

A special treat for Pinoy Rock enthusiasts is Sarah G’s take on some of the genre’s signature songs. Who wouldn’t know the folk classics “Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran,” by seminal folk group Asin and the anthemic “Tao,” by Sampaguita as these songs are the classics of an era — and Sarah’s revival of them couldn’t have been more timely — people would want to hear the message of these songs, and Sarah couldn’t be the most perfect deliverer of these songs timeless message.

There are the ballads of course! An anthology of OPM’s great lovesongs wouldn’t be complete without these songs and Sarah samples a few of the best in her lovely interpretations of Joey Albert’s “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin,” Nonoy Zuniga’s “Doon Lang,” and Rey Valera’s “Malayo Pa Ang Umaga.”

Sarah also gives her nod to the great songwriters of our time: the late, great George Canseco is saluted with Sarah’s rendering of “Hanggang Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan.” Meanwhile the great pianist, arranger and composer Ryan Cayabayab is also featured here with Sarah’s take on the OPM standard “Kay Ganda Ng Ating Musika.” And just you wait until you get a load of Sarah’s amazing rendition of the great OPM hit “Anak,” by the inimitable Freddie Aguilar.

There will be an album launch of Sarah Geronimo’s Pure OPM Classics album on November 13 at the Market Market Activity Center where Sarah will be performing some of songs in the album. There will be album signing and posters will be given at the event.

Watch out Sarah's mall show and enjoy the wonderful world of music!

This is one of my favorite songs of The Fray!

Step one you say we need to talk

He walks you say sit down it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God, he hears you
And pray to God, he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

How to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
How to save a life

How to save a life

This band knew how to save a life; with genuinely written songs that tug at every heart string, they were able to connect with people and on a few occasions might have saved someone’s life through their heartfelt songs. Prepare for a celebration of love, sorrow and life asTHE FRAY gives Manila a one night of auditory pleasure.
Formed in 2002, American pop rock band from Denver, Colorado started as a worship band and was initially composed of Isaac Slade and Joe King then joined later on by Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki. They made waves in 2005 with their breakthrough single “How To Save A Life”. The single reached Top 3 in the Billboards Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by RIAA. The album,How To Save A Life, where the same titled song came from also brought forth the hit “Over My Head (Cable Car)”. The band was then nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or a Group and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or a Group in 2007. These singles propelled the band into commercial success and international recognition.
“How To Save a Life” was featured in the hit TV Series Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, making it one of the most played and widely recognized song in that 2006-2007. The song’s inspired lyrics came from an encounter Isaac Slade had with a boy with drug problems and realizing that all the boy need was support from his friends and family.  People related so well with the song it opened up variety of interpretations, all in all, the song was able to touched the hearts of many and thus solidify The Fray’s ability to reach out to their audiences at a deeper level.
Their single “You Found Me” from their self titled sophomore album The Fray, debuted at #28 at the Hot 100 and peaked at #7. “Never Say Never” also from their second album was featured in the movie Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, allowing them to increase their loyal fan following worldwide. With the release of their latest single the upbeat and ear friendly “Heartbeat” from their latest album Scars and Stories, The Fray once again displayed   the emotional side of rock and their ability to connect to people.
The Fray’s musical approach is composed of piano driven, mid tempo tunes with a laidback feel. Their music is easy to listen to and the lyrics are highly relatable and heartfelt. Some compared the band to the likes of Coldplay and Keane primarily because of the piano driven tracks that leads into power ballads, though they cited The Wallflowers, Counting Crows and U2 as few of their influences.  Isaac Slade vocal style gave The Fray the distinction it deserves.  The band’s ability to render poetic, moving and sincere words into their songs is their strongest point, that and never lacking in melody and catchy hooks.
