The event is organized by the Philippine Inter-Island Sailing Foundation (PHINSAF) and Club Punta Fuego. Catching favorable winds, on second place was Twin Popsies headed by Dylan Tantuico. They ruled the waves and led the first day’s competition but the Atrevidos overtook them on the next day with a come-from-behind win and adept strategies. On third and fourth ranking were Cariño of Monchu Garcia and Captain Napoleon of Napoleon Paterakis, respectively.

Most of the participants of the Punta Fuego Regatta are business leaders belonging to the country’s elite and influential circle by day. On weekends or when they have spare time, they become seafarers who are devoted to this invigorating water sports in the open seas, giving them a sense of freedom and pleasure no other sports can.

Landco Promotes Sports Tourism in Batangas

Through Resort Estate Club Laiya’s One-Year Hosting of Philippine Beach Volleyball Teams

Club Laiya, Landco’s Resort Estate in Batangas, serves as the official training camp of the country’s beach volleyball teams. The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and Landco Pacific Corporation inked the one-year partnership agreement from January to December 2023. Under the agreement, two beach volleyball courts were built at Club Laiya, with 10 of the 18 members of the national men’s and women’s teams to hold camp seven days a week in Batangas. The rest of the national athletes who are still students will be in Laiya on weekends.

In the recent Volleyball World Beach Pro Tours Futures, the Philippine team won gold and silver in the women’s competition.

Millennial Resorts Achieve the First and Prestigious EDGE Certification for Resort Hospitality in the Philippines


Strengthening its Commitment to Environmental Sustainability in Batangas

Millennial Resorts achieved the very first EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Certification for a resort hospitality project in the country, with its Crusoe Cabins at CaSoBe in Calatagan, Batangas. The EDGE Certification was awarded by Philippine Green Building Initiative, Inc. (PGBI) which recognized Crusoe Cabins for its eco-efficient design that result in reduction of 34% in energy, 57% in water and 65% in embodied energy in materials compared to local base case.

The EDGE Certification demonstrates the leadership and advocacy of Landco and its sister hospitality group, Millennial Resorts in green building design with the use of EDGE software.

EDGE, an innovation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), is an international green building standard, rating system and certification available in 160 countries. EDGE brings about solutions to reduce the use of energy, water and embodied energy in materials.

“Sustainable tourism plays a critical role in achieving a green recovery and I’m proud to see resort properties in the Philippines adopting globally-recognized sustainability standards, which will hopefully encourage other industry players to do the same”, said Jean-Marc Arbogast, IFC Country Manager for the Philippines.
