To express LINE’s support for the cause, Akira Morikawa, the company’s CEO, paid a courtesy call to the Philippine embassy in Tokyo, Japan this past week. Morikawa sat down with Ambassador Manuel Lopez to present the proceeds from LINE’s “Pray for the Philippines” campaign.

He was likewise given updates about ongoing relief operations in the country.

“Jardine Distribution, Inc. Ph partners with DepEd to help children of Yolanda survivors “

Parents and schoolchildren in areas affected by Typhoon Yolanda are receiving an outpouring of aid and relief from all over the country and the world—and agricultural, construction, and home pests products distributor Jardine Distribution, Inc. is partnering with the Department of Education in doing their part to help survivors resume their normal lives.

“Undersecretary Mario Derequito of DepEd is right in pointing out that resuming the kids’ schooling is an important part of the rehabilitation and recovery process; this is why we have chosen to help in this area. Education has always been our priority when it comes to our social corporate responsibility projects,” said Edwin Hernandez, President and General Manager of Jardine Distribution, Inc. (JDI),
Schoolchildren in areas devastated by Yolanda now have a chance to resume education thanks to 1,000 learning kits and 120 tents—serving as classrooms provided by Jardine Distribution, Inc. in partnership with the Department of Education.

In cooperation with DepEd, JDI has released a thousand pieces of learner kits to schoolchildren in Yolanda-hit areas. Schools had been destroyed and learning materials swept away by floods and this has left children unable to resume their education. With the partnership between DepEd and JDI, these children have a chance to feel that life goes on after the tragedy—that there’s hope after the disaster.
The company has also provided 120 tents that will serve as classrooms for the children. “DepEd and we agreed that these learning kits and the tents are important for helping these kids resume their normal lives and to feel hopeful about their future. We are happy to have this chance to do our part in the rehabilitation efforts for these communities,” said Littaua.
“Besides the learning kits, we have also set up 120 tents in the areas that serve as the children’s classrooms. Having these kids come back to school and resume classes regularly is a way for communities to start over and feel a little more optimistic about their future after the devastation. These communities are survivors and they deserve all the help they can get to begin again and rebuild their lives. We at JDI feel privileged that we are given the chance to be part of the rehabilitation process. There’s still a lot of work to do and every little bit helps,” said Peachy Tiu, JDI Marketing Manager.
Officials of Jardine Distribution, Inc. turn over learning kits to Undersecretary Mario Derequito for the use of schoolchildren in areas hit by Typhoon Yolanda. In photo are Roberto Littaua, JDI Agchem Marketing Manager; Usec. Derequito; Edwin Hernandez, JDI President and General Manager; and Peachy Tiu, JDI CS Marketing Manager. 1,000 learning kits and 120 tents serving as classrooms have been distributed.
Jardine Distribution, Inc. (formerly Jardine Davies) represents a number of local and global companies that provide world-class crop protection and construction chemical products. They are focused on the safe use of these products, providing technical support, and with due consideration of environmental protection.

PAG ASA SA PAG GISING a fundraising concert for the benefit of Yolanda survivors featuring three awesome bands - SIDE A, SOUTH BORDER and FREESTYLE on January 3, 2014 at the Solaire Ballroom.

Side A, South Border and Freestyle will band together for the very first time ever, to stage a fund raising concert for the benefit of the sirvivors of typhoon Yolanda. Many have attempted to produce such a concert but it is only now that they will all be together on the same stage! The Solaire Resort and Casino has generously provided us with their ballroom for this special event.

The title of this back to back to back concert is "PAG ASA SA PAG GISING." This is also the title of the song all 3 bands collaborated on to support this cause. The message of the song is to promote HOPE and to uplift their outlook in life as they rebuild and restore their lives.

All band members have waived their talent fees to do this concert and creating the song. Literally and figuratively the bands will be doing this purely for the love.

We are hoping and relying on the big hearts of others so that we can stage this concert without spending a single centavo. Our objective is to turn over all the money we make from ticket sales to the Philippine Red Cross.

CBN Asia's Operation Blessing Philippines brings back the smiles on children traumatized by #YolandaPH

Together with relief distribution, feeding and medical mission, Operation Blessing Philippines brings back the smiles on children traumatized by super typhoon Yolanda.

Through songs, stories and games, Operation Blessing has already brought back the smiles on the faces of children seriously affected by the trauma brought by the super typhoon.
Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia, is successfully changing the sentiments in areas devastated by super typhoon Yolanda from one of helplessness and despair to that of hope and a sense of well-being.

“Operation Blessing aims to help the children cope up with their current situation through fun activities and games which we do simultaneously with relief distribution, medical mission and feeding programs. It is truly heartwarming to hear these children laugh once more,” says Dr. Kim Pascual, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Operation Blessing.

Despite challenges in logistical requirements, five teams from Operation Blessing are continuously doing relief distributions, medical mission and feeding programs in Leyte, Samar, Palawan, Iloilo and Roxas and Northern Cebu.

In their ongoing relief efforts, Operation Blessing Philippines has already reached out to at least 15,530 people without food and at high risk of possible health care problems.

Relief packs distributed to affected families include fortified rice mix, rice, noodles, powdered milk, canned goods, bottled water and used clothes. In other areas, Operation Blessing distributed brand new shirts and towels. Hygiene kits have already been packed, ready to be transported and distributed.

Simultaneous Operation Blessing medical missions in five sites hardly reached by other local or international aid, have provided the much needed healthcare to close to 2,000 people.
In Coron, Palawan, Operation Blessing was able to feed 600 individuals with warm meals. The group also shared biscuits to at least 60 people in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, the town where Yolanda first landed.

As they distribute food, medicine and basic necessities to the survivors of this tragedy, Operation Blessing also brings to the people a sense of hope, strength and renewed faith.

“Let us continue to pray for our fellowmen that they will not lose faith and they will continue to hold on God’s love and faithfulness,” Dr. Kim said as he urged more donors to continue sharing their blessings so that Operation Blessing Philippines would be able to help out as many affected people as possible.
