How well are you sleeping? For many Filipinos, getting a good night's sleep has become increasingly hard.

More than 1 out of 2 Filipinos shared that they experience sleep problems, according to a sleep tracker study released by Southeast Asia’s leading consumer research firm Milieu Insight. Among the six countries surveyed, Filipinos have the highest difficulty of getting a good night’s sleep, with 56% of those saying they experience sleep problems a few times a week. The most common sleep problems encountered by Filipinos include difficulty falling asleep (53%), waking up often at night (41%) and irregular sleep and wake cycle (41%).

The effects of poor sleep are both physical and mental. One does not only feel tired but there's an inability to concentrate. Regulating emotions and dealing with daily stress also becomes harder; one feels more irritable and moodier. And getting poor sleep even for just a few nights a week, is associated with higher levels of depressive symptoms.

This spells a big problem when it comes to overall wellness for Filipinos as sleep is a critical part of our health. Fortunately, Samsung has developed innovative technology to help those who want to get a good sleep, and care for their overall wellbeing.

Recognizing the importance of sleep, the Samsung Galaxy Watch series offers different features to help users improve their sleep quality. For easier assessment of whether one is getting good quality sleep, the Galaxy Watch provides a sleep score from one to 100 with one being the lowest, 100 being the highest. The score which is based on a variety of factors such as total sleep time (adults should get around 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night), number of sleep cycles, movements or awakenings (to get an idea of how often one’s sleep is interrupted), physical recovery or how much deep sleep you get and mental recovery or REM sleep.

With a sleep score, one can now go about improving it with the Sleep Coach features of the Galaxy Watch. One can enable the Sleep Coaching feature by starting the program with a quick questionnaire and wearing the Galaxy Watch for a week while one sleeps. This will help gather a week’s worth of sleep data.

After logging a week’s sleep data, users will be able to discover their Sleep Animal tailored to their sleep patterns and then start a four to five-week sleep coaching program. This includes Sleep Missions that will help improve sleep quality with notifications. One can follow the steps of the Sleep Coaching program and read the recommended articles for tips to help better manage sleep.

Performance run proved that shifting to Petron Turbo Diesel improved fuel efficiency by an average of 16%

A field test conducted by Petron R&D showed that test vehicles were able to achieve an average 16.4% improvement in fuel efficiency after shifting to Petron Turbo Diesel. The five-day performance run was observed and certified by representatives from the Department of Energy – Energy Utilization Management Bureau, the Automobile Association of the Philippines, and the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalists.

Twelve test vehicles, all loaded to their rated capacity, were subjected to real-world driving conditions in a 258km route traversing the mountainous and winding provincial roads of Bataan and the rolling terrain of the Clark to Subic section of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). Various types of diesel engine vehicles were fielded, consisting of: (a) SUV –2022 Nissan Terra 4.4 2.5L AT, 2022 Toyota Fortuner 2.4L AT, 2016 Toyota Fortuner 2.4L AT, 2016 Mitsubishi Montero 2.4L AT; (b) Pickup – 2022 Isuzu DMAX 2.0L AT, 2022 Mitsubishi Strada 2.5L AT, 2022 Maxus T60 2.8L AT; (c) Van – 2022 Maxus G10 1.9L AT, 2022 Isuzu Traviz 2.5L MT; (d) MPV – 2019 Toyota Innova 2.8L AT; and (e) Luxury – 2022 BMW X1 1.8L AT.

Benchmark fuel efficiency data and driver ratings were first established using regular diesel. Subsequently, running the same route, the test vehicles were fueled with Petron Turbo Diesel loaded from a regular service station pump. After the first load, more than half of the test vehicles achieved an average distance gain of 11.9%. After the second load of Petron Turbo Diesel, the test vehicles improved their fuel efficiency with an average of 16.4% additional distance gained per liter. These results confirm that most diesel engine vehicles, whether new or old, can improve their fuel efficiency with the continued use of Petron Turbo Diesel.

Similarly, to compare driver perception of driving using regular diesel and Petron Turbo Diesel, all test drivers were asked to accomplish a rating form after each day’s run. Consistent with the fuel efficiency gains, the drivers also perceived continuous daily improvement in engine response, engine power, and acceleration. In particular, the test drivers found the following statements to have the most significant improvement:

• · Engine response: I can feel immediate engine response going uphill even after a slowdown on a sharp curve.

• · Engine power: Driving at a steady pace is smooth with no loss of power.

• · Acceleration: I can feel the power on demand when I step on the accelerator.

The performance run confirmed the superior formulation of Petron Turbo Diesel as a high-performance, technologically-advanced fuel. Enhanced with multi-functional additives and higher cetane number, it is proven to deliver outstanding performance across different vehicle types and driving behavior.

According to Petron R&D, the high ignition quality and combustibility of Petron Turbo Diesel maximized fuel energy conservation, thus producing maximum engine power while maintaining fuel efficiency.
