Enjoyed Dinner Date At Goodah!!!

Eating is fun, eating together with your loveones, family, relatives and friends, helps you relax and happy.

After a long day, I asked my husband to have dinner date to be relax, eat, eat and choose sa menu na walang arte ang name.

So, had an impromptu date right there. It was wonderful to talk about how much we enjoyed the events the whole day and enjoy the food we have. We love dine in at Goodah!!!

Well, Pinoys have associated GoodAh!!! with “Pagkaing Good for Every-All.”

Goodah!!! the first ever, all-native food chain in the country, known for Tapsi, Tosi, Longsi, Adsi and all the “si” foods found in almost every Filipino restaurant today. The restaurant served traditional, hot, and quick-served Filipino snacks like Goto, Arrozcaldo, Dinuguan, Pares.

We had the my favorites like Pinoy Bistek, Pork BBQ, Lumpiang Shanghai, Pancit Canton and Pares.

GoodAh!!! is the first fast food company that instituted “Open 25 hours” and “7 days a week” food service operations.

Really enjoyed we had dinner at Goodah!!! Timog, QC Branch. The staff were fiendly, accommodating. Beyond the Timog branch, you can also enjoy the same delicious Filipino dining experience at the Granada branch in Quezon City and the Sucat branch in ParaƱaque, making GoodAh!!! accessible to more families across Metro Manila.

Looking for authentic Filipino comfort food, generous servings, and a restaurant  smooth experience that feels familiar and welcoming?  --- GoodAh!!! continues to be a worthy destination.

One of life’s greatest pleasures is sharing good food with the one you love. Life is too short to miss out on this simple joy.

Summer, Unscripted: Sprite Brings a Refreshing Take on the Filipino Summer

Ice-cold Sprites are the perfect summer drink for a Gen Z Filipino summer

Summer in the Philippines has always carried a distinct rhythm, longer days, relentless heat, and daily moments shaped as much by the streets as by the destination. This season, Sprite is showing up where those moments happen most, bringing refreshment to everyday summer experiences as Filipino youth redefine how they live the season.

While summer was once synonymous with beach trips and long vacations, today’s generation is meaning in moments in between: everyday experiences that feel real, familiar and worth sharing. In these settings, Sprite has remained a natural presence, offering an ice-cold break from the heat during moments that unfold unscripted.

Sprite has long shown up where young Filipinos actually are—from the convenience store across the dorm to the cooler at the local fiesta to a quick stop along a hot commute. It is a steady refreshing companion in the middle of summer’s unpredictability, cutting through the heat and the noise with every sip.

This summer, the brand brought that presence closer to where people already are through on-ground and live experiences across Metro Manila and key destinations nationwide.

At selected transport hubs including One Ayala, LRT Legarda, PITX, and LRT Marikina-Pasig, Sprite set up vending machines that offered commuters a refreshing pause during peak summer heat. The brand also brought its cooling presence to open community spaces such as Marikina Riverbanks and Luneta Park, adding moments of refreshment to everyday routines.

Commuters enjoy ice-cold Sprites from vending machines for free at commuting hubs

Building on this, Sprite marked the season with large-scale community moments, including a summer event at the SM Mall of Asia By the Bay that brought together music lovers and the youth. The event featured a lineup of local artists like P-POP group BGYO, Fitterkarma, Shanti Dope, Illest Morena and Drag Race Philippines Season 3 winner Maxie Andreison and highlighted how music, shared spaces, and refreshments come together during the Filipino summer. Beyond the city, Sprite extended its summer presence to beach destinations such as La Union, Bolinao, and Boracay, creating spaces for friends to gather, cool down, and enjoy the season by the shore.

These local experiences reflect a broader shift in how summer is being experienced, not just as a destination, but as a series of everyday moments shaped by spontaneity, connection, and choice. And when plans don’t always go as expected, when budgets are tighter or trips don’t push through, Sprite continues to be a familiar constant, offering a refreshment in the moments that matter most, whether during a barkada hangout, a shared meal, or a quick stop to cool down from the heat.

Globally, Sprite’s It’s That Fresh platform celebrates cutting through summer’s noise. In the Philippines, introduced locally as “Yan ang Refreshing,” that idea comes to life through moments that are real, accessible, and rooted in everyday life.

As Filipino youth continue to shape what summer means to them, Sprite remains present, bringing a fresh take to the moments that make the season feel real.

Stay chill, stay cool, and redefine your own idea of summer with Sprite— ‘yan ang refreshing!

Rising Power Costs Reignite Energy Security Debate

What will it take for the Philippines to achieve an economically secure and energy-secure future?

The 1973 and 1979 global oil crises, triggered by supply disruptions in the Middle East at the time, exposed the Philippines’ heavy dependence on imported fuel and caused widespread economic strain across the country. Decades later, the country finds itself facing a familiar challenge once again.

Like dƩjƠ vu, the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, which continues to disrupt the global oil market, alongside rising commodity prices and worsening inflation, has once again brought concerns over energy security to center stage. The question remains the same: how can the Philippines secure a stable, affordable, and reliable source of energy?

The volatile Philippine energy landscape
The Philippines remains heavily dependent on fossil fuels for electricity generation, with coal accounting for more than 60% of the country’s energy mix. Natural gas follows, while renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal make up a smaller mix. Because of this, global supply disruptions immediately impact the local energy market, affecting households and businesses alike.

As a result, data shows the Philippines continues to record some of the highest electricity rates in Asia, with households paying an average of $0.207 per kWh—higher than neighboring Southeast Asian countries. Meanwhile, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) raised residential electricity rates to PHP14 pesos per kWh in early 2026, adding further strain on Filipinos already burdened by inflation.

Energy cost and economic impact

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Philippines is among the countries heavily affected by global oil price shocks because of its strong dependence on imported fuel. Without sufficient domestic energy sources, the country remains vulnerable to sudden international supply disruptions and market volatility.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has repeatedly emphasized that affordable and reliable energy is one of the key drivers of economic growth. Lower electricity costs could make the Philippines more attractive to foreign investors, particularly in industries that require large-scale manufacturing, technology infrastructure, and data operations.

That is why in a recent media briefing, Pangasinan 2nd District Representative Mark Cojuangco underscored the urgent need for the Philippines to adopt a long-term solution that can provide clean, cheap, and reliable energy amid the ongoing crisis.

Nuclear energy as the key long-term solution

As discussions surrounding the worsening energy crisis continue, advocates argue that nuclear power offers a unique advantage: it can provide stable baseload electricity while significantly reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels.

According to insights shared by former Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) Director Dr. Carlo Arcilla, nuclear energy could play a critical role in strengthening the Philippines’ long-term energy security because nuclear plants can generate massive amounts of electricity continuously while producing minimal carbon emissions. This positions nuclear energy not only as a potential economic solution, but also as an important strategy for achieving the country’s long-term climate and sustainability goals.

Amid these discussions, Pangasinan 2nd District Representative Mark Cojuangco has renewed calls for a decisive shift in the country’s energy strategy through House Bill No. 8567, a proposed measure that seeks to establish incentives and financing mechanisms to accelerate the development of nuclear power projects in the country.

The bill aims to position nuclear energy as a cornerstone of a more secure, stable, and economically resilient Philippine energy system, while also building on the country’s recent efforts to establish a stronger nuclear regulatory framework following the enactment of the PhilAtom Act.

“The reality is we cannot continue relying on imported fuel if we want long-term energy security and affordable electricity for Filipinos. Nuclear energy gives us the opportunity to build a stable baseload power supply that can support economic growth for decades,” said Cojuangco.

In reports discussing the renewed push for nuclear energy, Alpas Pinas Lead Convenor Gayle Certeza echoed Cojuangco’s stance on the importance of diversifying the country’s energy sources.

“Solar and wind are good energy sources, but they are only available during certain periods of the day. If we rely on solar and wind, we will still need gas or coal as backup sources. That is why we must secure a cheap, clean, and reliable energy future for the next generation. Who wouldn’t want that for our future?” Certeza reiterated.

Indeed, as the country continues to face the same energy challenges, the renewed discussion on nuclear energy signals that the Philippines’ search for a more resilient, stable, and sustainable energy future is far from over.

Aviators take retro pop to dreamier, more introspective place with new single “Come & Go”

Chamber rock duo Aviators are back in our daily rotation with new ‘rush-inducing’ track “Come & Go”—out today via Offshore Music.

What started as an Iloilo-based music project between two friends, John Roxas and Arvy Zafra, has evolved into a band with unique sonic imagery: retro-pop with lush and ornate arrangements and post-punk sensibilities, perfectly carried by their previous single, “Hollow,” which was released in October 2025.

Imbued with newfound range and character, their latest single “Come & Go” takes the familiar cinematic approach with a more manic sound. It’s intentionally made to feel as if the listener is chasing after each note as the song drives forward.

“I wanted a song that had an energetic, frenetic pace, something you would hear as a soundtrack to a James Bond-esque movie,” shares vocalist and guitarist John Roxas. “The lyrics are centered around things that come and go, and what better way to bring that to light than with a song that comes at you, then goes on forward.”

Official Artwork for Come & Go

In the same interview, Roxas mentioned that this song has been in the works way back 2016 when they were experimenting on orchestral soundscapes, making “Come & Go” technically a ten-year-old project.

A lyric video of “Come & Go”, created by Danille Yzjl Eligue, Renzky Avelino, and Jyzle Xylex Monzon, will also be available upon release day on the Offshore Music PH's official YouTube channel.

The final installment of Aviators’ cinematic and orchestral exploration is set to drop this July.

Listen to “Come & Go” on all streaming platforms here!

About Aviators

Heavily inspired by the melodies of retro pop music and the angst of the post-punk revival, Aviators seamlessly blend lush vocal harmonies and chamber pop strings into their gritty musical backbone. Taking cues from artists like Mini Mansions, Julian Casablancas, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, David Bowie, and Pulp, their sound is a unique fusion of heavy guitars, pounding drums, orchestral arrangements, and rich vocal layers. The result pushes listeners in unexpected directions while still keeping them close at hand with the familiarity of classic pop melodies.

Their journey took off with the release of their first single, I Got U in 2020, followed by their debut album, Analogies On Love, in 2022. Both releases garnered Awit Awards nominations. Aviators have also made two notable appearances on Rappler Live Jam, further establishing their new presence in the industry.

How Two Filipino Sari-Sari Store Owners Found New Ways to Grow With Maya Business

Almost every Filipino neighborhood has one. A sari-sari store tucked beside a family home. A small storefront where neighbors stop to buy everyday essentials, catch up with one another, or quickly pay for load before heading home. For decades, these community businesses have quietly become part of daily life across the Philippines, built through trust, consistency, and relationships formed one customer at a time.

(L-R): Nemia Rontal and Wilma Manalastas

Today, many of these small businesses are evolving together with the communities they serve. Some now offer bills payment, cash-in and cash-out services, and mobile load in addition to traditional store items. Others have expanded into online selling, using digital tools to help manage transactions and support growing negosyo needs.

For entrepreneurs like Nemia Rontal in Bocaue, Bulacan and Wilma Manalastas, adapting to these changes became part of growing their negosyo while creating more stability for their families through Maya Business.

Before becoming one of the trusted Maya Business agents in their subdivision, 39-year-old Nemia spent nearly two decades working in corporate as an Accounting Supervisor. But after experiencing health challenges that forced her to stop working full-time, she began focusing more seriously on the small sari-sari store she had started years earlier outside their home.

At the time, the setup was simple: two sacks of rice displayed in front of the house. “Nagsimula kami na para pandagdag lang sana noon” (We started it simply as a way to earn extra income), she shares.

Even then, Nemia already had an interest in financial systems and business transactions. Curious about digital financial services and looking for ways to expand what her store could offer, she attended a Maya seminar in Guiguinto back in 2018 and applied to become a Maya Business partner.

Over time, Nemia’s store evolved into more than just a place to buy essentials.

Customers began stopping by not only for rice or groceries, but also for bills payment, cash-in services, and mobile load. During the pandemic especially, digital transactions became more common within their community as more people looked for accessible financial services closer to home.

“Unti-unti siyang naging regular na serbisyo para sa mga tao rito” (Over time, it became a regular service people in the community relied on), she says.

As transactions became more consistent, access to additional puhunan also became important for keeping the negosyo running steadily. Through Maya Advance, Maya Business’ in-app financing feature that allows eligible businesses to access collateral-free revolving funds directly through the app, Nemia was able to secure additional capital for inventory, daily operations, and household expenses whenever needed.

Her first approved amount started at around ₱18,000. Over time, after consistently growing her transactions, her loan limit eventually increased to more than ₱200,000.

For Nemia, the convenience mattered just as much as the financial support itself. “Kapag fully paid na, mabilis lang ulit magamit” (Once it’s fully paid, we can easily access it again) she says. “Malaking tulong siya lalo na kapag kailangang magdagdag agad ng paninda” (It really helps whenever we need additional capital for inventory).

Today, her store has helped support their family through years of change. From improving their home to purchasing a vehicle and continuously supporting her children’s education, the business gradually became a source of stability after leaving corporate work behind.

But success, in Nemia’s case, still looks grounded in everyday routines.

It looks like preparing the store early in the morning before customers arrive. It looks like balancing negosyo operations with household responsibilities. It looks like assisting neighbors with transactions throughout the day.

For Wilma Manalastas on the other hand, her business evolved differently, but with the same mindset of adapting little by little.

What started as a simple sari-sari store eventually expanded into online selling, with Wilma offering gadgets, cellphones, clothes, and other trending products through digital platforms.

Over time, her business became an important added source of income alongside her husband’s work.

Like many Filipinos who entered online selling organically, Wilma learned through experience: balancing multiple sidelines, managing inventory, and handling busy transactions while gradually adapting to more digital systems.

“As the negosyo grew, syempre kailangan din ng pandagdag puhunan” (As the negosyo grew, we eventually needed additional capital to keep up as well), she says.

Before using Maya Business, Wilma often relied on credit cards whenever she needed extra funds for restocking products or supporting busy selling periods. Eventually, she became one of the early Maya Business users and later discovered Maya Advance, which allowed her to access additional revolving funds directly through the app without lengthy paperwork and approval processes.

For Wilma, the accessibility and convenience became especially helpful in supporting both her physical store and online negosyo operations.

Today, years after starting with a sari-sari store, Wilma says her business has helped their family achieve milestones they once only planned for gradually, including purchasing a condominium unit and a vehicle.

But more than the bigger purchases, she says the business gave them more financial stability and flexibility while helping support their long-term family goals.

Across the Philippines, sari-sari stores have long been part of everyday community life: places built on familiarity, convenience, and trust. But as customer habits continue to evolve, many small business owners are also finding practical ways to adapt alongside them.

Through Maya Business, entrepreneurs can access digital tools that help support everyday negosyo needs, from accepting QR Ph payments from different e-wallets and banks to offering bills payment, mobile load, and cash-in and cash-out services, as well as accessing additional revolving capital through Maya Advance. Maya Business also allows merchants to manage business funds through a digital deposit account designed for everyday business transactions.

For many Filipino entrepreneurs, growth doesn’t always happen all at once. Sometimes, it starts with a small store, a loyal community of customers, and the willingness to keep building steadily one day at a time.
