5 Easy Tips Para Mapalago Ang Iyong Ipon

3. Mamuhay ayon sa iyong kinikita

Always aim to live within your means.

4. Simulan mag-ipon ngayon and make it a habit

Iwasan gastusin lahat ng bonus o kita, at maging one-day millionaire.

          a. Ito ba talaga ang kailangan kong halaga?

          b. Kaya ko ba ito bayaran on time?

Kung binabayaran mo ang loan mo on time, mas madaling makapag-loan ulit in the future.

7-Eleven Makes Bank Transactions Convenient With 320 Cash-Recycing ATMs

Now you don’t need to travel far to your bank’s ATM whenever you need to deposit or withdraw cash —you can do your cash withdrawal and balance inquiry ATM transactions at 7-Eleven stores in Metro Manila and Cavite starting this March.

This convenience is made possible by Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), the exclusive licensor of 7-Eleven in the Philippines, in partnership with Pito AxM Platform, Inc. (PAPI), a Philippine subsidiary of Seven Bank, Ltd. of Japan (Seven Bank).

The ATMs in 7-Eleven, operated by PAPI, are cash-recycling ATMs, which means customers can withdraw or deposit cash in real-time with any of its partner banks. Customers can now withdraw cash while the deposit functionality of the ATMs will be activated in the near future. The ATMs also have a unique feature of adapting the customer interface screen to that of the partner bank and thus providing a familiar, easy-to-use interface for users.
As of this publication, BDO Unibank account holders can withdraw cash and perform balance inquiries free of charge from the ATMs in 7-Eleven stores. Other bank account holders, through BANCNET, can also do withdrawal and balance inquiry transactions subject to ATM fees charged by their banks. PAPI plans to expand the number of partner banks in the near future to allow more convenient and cost-efficient banking services to more customers.

By the first week of March, customers can already conduct their bank transactions in more than thirty (30) 7-Eleven stores in NCR. PAPI and PSC aim to install ATMs in at least 320 stores by the end of the first half of 2021. This number will gradually increase throughout the year, with the end goal of covering the majority of 7-Eleven stores in the future.

Seven Bank, which operates more than 25,000 ATMs in Japan, established PAPI in April 2019 to promote its ATM business in the country. In February 2020, PAPI struck a business alliance with PSC, intending to install, operate, and maintain ATMs at 7-Eleven stores in the Philippines.

PSC operates the largest convenience store network in the country. It has 2,978 stores in the Philippines as of December 31, 2020.

BDO Foundation rehabs 6 health centers

After reaching a major milestone last year with the rehabilitation of 100 rural health units, BDO Foundation continues to help improve health facilities across the country. The corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank recently completed the rehabilitation of six rural health units as part of its contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal no. 3 to ensure healthy lives and promote the well-being of all people of all ages.

As part of continuing efforts to help improve the healthcare delivery system in the Philippines, BDO Foundation rehabilitated six rural health units in Iloilo, Isabela, and Western Samar with the support of officers from BDO and BDO Network Bank branches.

Despite constraints caused by the pandemic, the foundation renovated the Municipal Health Office of Aurora in Isabela, Calbiga Rural Health Unit and Birthing Facility in Western Samar, and Rural Health Unit Dapa in Siargao, Surigao del Norte. In Iloilo, it renovated Dueñas Municipal Health Office, Barotac Viejo Municipal Health Office, and Birthing Facility, and Mina Municipal Health Center.

According to Dueñas municipal health officer Dr. Rodney Labis, “Understanding the financial capacity of our local government unit, I knew that our only chance to renovate Dueñas Municipal Health Office would be through BDO Foundation. Learning that the foundation will rehabilitate our building made me hopeful. Our staff was also excited because they have seen the foundation’s work in other rural health units in Iloilo.”

“The rehabilitation of our rural health unit not only made our building presentable, but it also motivated our health workers to deliver services effectively to all Dueñasanons especially during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the doctor added.

BDO Foundation improved the layout and interior design of the six health centers, their lobby and waiting areas, offices, clinics, consultation rooms, treatment rooms, and facilities. The foundation installed new furniture and fixtures to help health workers accommodate more patients. It also constructed play areas where children can read books or play with toys. In Mina Municipal Health Center and Rural Health Unit Dapa, available space enabled BDO Foundation to build waiting areas for the comfortable use of senior citizens.

With these improvements in place, the doctors, nurses, and midwives of the rural health units in Aurora, Barotac Viejo, Calbiga, Dapa, Dueñas, and Mina are now better equipped to provide primary healthcare services to thousands of constituents. BDO Foundation’s corporate citizenship initiatives in the aforementioned municipalities are expected to help improve the health and well-being of more than 197,000 people from 198 barangays.

BDO posts P28.2 billion net income in 2020

BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO) posted a net income of P28.2 billion in 2020 from P44.2 billion in 2019, due mainly to pre-emptive provisions of P30.2 billion set aside against potential delinquencies from the pandemic. The Bank relied on its strong and resilient business franchise and balance sheet to support core business operations, despite significant hurdles from the pandemic and ensuing economic lockdown.

Net interest income (NII) grew by 12 percent to P133.7 billion.  Loans managed to grow 3 per cent to P2.3 trillion driven by consumer and corporate accounts.  The Bank continued to assist its borrowing clients, ensuring their uninterrupted access to credit facilities, in addition to granting loan moratoria under Bayanihan I and II.

CASA deposits continued to climb, growing 17 percent to P2.1 trillion, as clients were able to access BDO products and services through its branches, ATMs and digital channels even during quarantine restrictions.

Non-interest income declined 8 percent and settled at P55.2 billion, supported by fee-based income, trading gains and insurance premiums.  Business volumes were initially impacted by mobility restrictions, but have since begun to recover gradually.  Wealth management, on the other hand, remained resilient with trust volumes and fees sustaining growth.  Trading gains increased as the Bank capitalized on favorable market conditions while insurance premiums grew modestly despite the initial impact of the lockdowns.

Operating expenses decreased 2 percent to P112.6 billion due to a reduction in marketing and volume-related expenses.

The Bank’s provisions of P30.2 billion were in line with prudent credit and provisioning policies, meant to further strengthen its balance sheet.  The NPL ratio stood at 2.65 percent with NPL coverage at 109.5 percent. As of yearend, the Bank’s total Loan Loss Reserves were equivalent to 3 percent of Gross Customer Loans, and are considered more than sufficient to cover for potential losses.

The Bank’s capital base expanded to P393 billion with its Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) at 14.4 percent and 13.2 percent, respectively, comfortably above minimum regulatory levels.   The Bank’s capital increased by 6% despite the pre-emptive provisions and the business impact of COVID-19. Book value per share likewise increased 6% to P88.11 from P83.03 in 2019.

BDO remains cautiously optimistic on a gradual upturn in 2021. With its extensive market reach and devoted workforce, the Bank remains committed to providing banking products and services attuned to its customers needs. These include digital upgrades that allow easier and safer access to services, such as QR code-based ATM and merchant transactions. These are part of the benefits expected from its ongoing Next Generation IT upgrade.

No need for a Card! BDO Unibank offers QR Code Withdrawals From Select ATMs

Good news!  No need for a Card, as customers and clients can now make card-less, QR Code-based withdrawals from select BDO ATMs.

BDO Senior Vice President and Head of ATM Network & Applied Payment Solutions. Tovi Mendoza, said :

“Withdrawing using QR Codes is now available in the Philippines, Now, our clients will enjoy faster and more convenient transactions, and most importantly, limit the risk of catching COVID-19 since they will touch the ATM surface a lot less.”

"The new service will benefit those who are encouraged to stay home for their health and safety. Despite our security controls, however, we remind our clients to entrust their Withdrawal QR Codes with others prudently,” Mendoza noted.

How to do QR Code withdrawals

To generate a QR Code, login your BDO Digital Banking App. Click on “More” from the options. Select “Withdraw” then “Via QR.” Pick the account, input the amount, and save the QR Code.

Each QR Code is unique to each withdrawal transaction. It is valid for only 24 hours upon a generation to protect your account. BDO clarifies though that a Withdrawal QR Code is different from the Account QR Code used to Send Money.

To withdraw, tap “QR Code Transaction” on the ATM screen and allow the machine to scan your QR Code. Pick if you would like a receipt or not, then wait for the machine to dispense your cash.

Currently, there are over 100 QR-enabled ATMs in Makati City. This year, the bank is looking at installing more of these upgraded machines nationwide. Learn more about the feature, and find a branch near you at: https://www.bdo.com.ph/withdraw-via-qr-code
