24-year-old Ariella Arida is a BS Chemistry graduate from the University of the Philippines, Los Baños, a former Miss Philippines Earth contestant.
During the Question-and-Answer portion, Arida was asked about what life lesson can women teach men. She answered:

"One lesson in life that we, women, can teach men is being sensitive. Because we all know that men are more logical when it comes to decision. They usually are more rational, straight forward. Unlike we, women, we use our heart and we tend to get emotional in some of our decisions... For me, sensitivity is something that we can teach men."

There’s Plenty of Fish in the Sea at Sentro 177

Sentro 1771 presents seafood dishes that will surely find a home to your family’s repertoire of top picks whether you’re aiming to be healthy or simply finding comfort from your all-time favorite seafood choices. Guaranteed low in saturated fat, these dishes are not only irresistible, they’re also good for the heart.
At Sentro 1771, tasty definitely means healthy too especially if you’re having smoked milkfish spring rolls (P270) which could serve as a filling and satisfying appetizer or entree. A festive combination of smoked milkfish, salted egg, mustard greens, onions and tomato that are rolled like spring rolls, it’s served with slightly tangy vinaigrette for some zing. An explosion of color, texture, and balance of flavors, it’s a lip smacking dish minus the guilt.

Equally-appealing and filled nothing but goodness of the sea, seafood sinigang sa miso (P250) is a classic favorite minus the meat but never lacking with mouthwatering elements such as gindara, milkfish, and shrimps seasoned with miso for more depth and flavor. Good food begets fresh and all-natural ingredients, and that’s the promise of this dish. It’s spirited, chunky, and heartwarming especially that the broth is made from scratch. Plus, it has chockfull of colorful diced veggies from tomatoes, okra, taro corms, daikon, water spinach, and eggpplant stewed in tamarind. And as a charming signature tradition, you get the chance to adjust the level of sourness of the soup by sipping and tasting it before serving.
Fried usually gets a bad rap as something calorie-laden, but not Sentro 1771’s Rated GG or galunggong (grilled mackerel scad, P230 and P445).

Yes, fried healthy food does exist at Sentro 1771 as this dish is fried in olive oil, filleted and generously sprinkled with toasted bits of garlic. Executive Chef Vicky Rose Pacheco not only takes pride in creating another certified Sentro 1771 original, the lowly fish was a given a rightful and impressive reputation considering galunggong is a rich source of protein and zinc.

If your family is in for smart eating, count on Sentro 1771 in satisfying you with something healthy and tasty too. There’s nothing quite anything else like a brown rice that can make a marvelous pair with these amazing, healthy choices, so it’s a good thing that Sentro 1771 has this in the menu. So whether you’re a healthy eater or seekers of all-natural whole foods, find these Sentro 1771 dishes indulgent, never leaving behind the taste and joy of eating while bringing a new appreciation for something deliciously low-calorie.

Sentro 1771 in Greenbelt 3 is open from 11am to 11pm (Monday to Sunday)

Foursquare Day 2013

Expect an afternoon of fun-filled activities on April 16 at SM Megamall Atrium!

Foursquare, a location-based social networking site for mobile devices where users “check-in” at places through smartphones, text message or apps, is coming up with a special holiday for Foursquare aficionados – the much-anticipated #4SqDay!

#4sqDay is all about community: reaching out to people through establishing business or personal relationships via social networking. #4sqDay or Foursquare Day is celebrated as a way of acknowledging the impact Foursquare has made in the lives of its users. With Foursquare, distance and differences are conquered, taking social networking to a whole new level.

Foursquare Day activities vary in each locality. While some choose to celebrate the day through get-togethers and/or lectures, others do it the Foursquare way – a check-in. In the Philippines, however, a grand, global celebration is brewing. Aside from the meet and greet of Foursquare Superusers, this year’s festivities will even be bigger as Foursquare Philippines partner with SM Cinema’s e-PLUS along with SM Megamall, Starmobile and Papa John’s Pizza.

For exclusive treats, make sure you unlock the #4sqDay 2013 official badge to get your own swags from Foursquare and a treat from Papa John’s Pizza. The first 200 who will present the #4sqDay 2013 badge at the event will be entitled to a treat from Papa John’s Pizza and the first 100 will be given limited edition Foursquare Day 2013 swag.

e-PLUS will be raffling off flip cameras to lucky Foursquare Day attendees while Starmobile will be giving away a mobile phone.

The Foursquare Day Philippine leg is made possible by SM Megamall, Starmobile, Papa John’s Pizza and e-PLUS card—your most convenient access to the movies.

Country's loveliest jazz up the runway at the Big Dome yesterday, April 11. They didn’t do Shamsey’s Tsunami or Janine’s  Cobra walk, but they ruled the runway just the same.
