Enjoying the Wonderful World with Globe Telecom as it sparks digital revolution in the Philippines with the two-day Digital Lifetsyle Expo.

Recognizing the growing relevance of recent technology innovations in our lives, Globe Telecom held the Wonderful World with Globe: Embracing a Wonderful Digital Life at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall, showcasing the latest trends, gadgets, and applications that aim to empower netizens and promote inclusion for Filipinos who have yet to join the digital revolution.

Peter Bithos, Globe Telecom Chief Operating Advisor presents the new bundles of telecom's digital lifetyle that breeds connectivity and creativity.

“There are different factors shaping our digital lifestyle, such as the rise of Internet penetration availability of the more Internet-enabled phones, customization of data packages, and the boost of applications for all uses. Their integration redefines how people connect, choose, and capture moments,” said Peter Bithos.

“In the digital age, options abound and changes happen with a tap of a finger. With technology and devices being brought to the reach of more Filipinos, everyone is invited to embrace the digital lifestyle that breeds connectivity and creativity,” said Bithos.

Partnership with Globe’s Lifestyle Bundles, experts from the media, business, and digital industries gave relevant insights on how digital innovations have greatly affected people’s daily activities.


The Work and Play session discussed how engagements, business or personal, are more convenient and enjoyable by a host of applications and services that are affordable to any consumer. 

The first batch of panelists (for Work and Play) included Spotify Asia Managing Director Sunita Kaur, Manila Bulletin Technology Editor Art Samaniego, Jr., LG Electronics Product Marketing Manager Faith Mijares, Zomato Philippines Country Manager Anton Ojeda, Globe Vice-President for Usage, Recon, and Customer Experience Management, Postpaid Business, Debbie Obias, and Globe Vice President for Digital Media Glen Estrella.

The Create and Share session delved into Filipino's penchant for expressing their passion and voicing out their ideas by making technology more flexible and adaptable to one's personal needs.


On the second day of the Globe Digital Lifestyle Expo, August 23, netizens were treated to many activities, games, new and exclusive offers from Globe brands and  partners. There was a mini-concert featuring celebrities Sam Concepcion, Radha and Morissete Amon.

The Wonderful World with Globe: Digital Lifestyle Expo was free and opened to the public held at the Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. 

The event is in partnership with the country's leading digital brands Spotify, Samsung, Zalora, Grab taxi, Cloudefone, LG Philippines, Zomato, Huawei and the Manila Bulletin.

Gloc-9, Awit Award winning rapper and composer  was chosen by Guitar because of his being true to the Filipino spirit, which shows in his unique style of music. His fast-flowing vocal style has made him one of the most successful hip-hop artists in the Philippines. He represents Guitar as a genuine Filipino brand, simple yet with international appeal.

66th Primetime Emmy Awards will be airing live on the Lifestyle Network on Aug. 26


Television's biggest night has found a new home on Philippine television,  the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will be airing live on the Lifestyle Network on August 26.

To be hosted by actor and comedian Seth Meyers, this year's Emmys, is promising tight competition among a star-studded and impressive line-up of nominees. 

Programs nominated this year are raking in big numbers, with Game of Thrones leading the list with nineteen nominations. Celebrated miniseries Fargo and American Horror Story: Coven received eighteen nominations and seventeen nominations respectively. 

Other programs receiving ten or more nominations include Breaking Bad, The Normal Heart, Saturday Night Live, House of Cards, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Downton Abbey, Orang is the New Black, Sherlock: His Last Vow (Masterpiece), True Detective, Modern Family, and The Voice. 

This year's performer nominations include a renowned group of actors--many of whom are past Oscars nominees and winners. The list includes:

- Chiwetel Ejiofor in Dancing on the Edge
- Matthew McConaughey in True Detective
- Julia Roberts in The Normal Heart

Statement on the revision of the DepEd Vision-Mission-Values

The Department of Education's Vision, Mission, and Core Values (VMV) statements serve as guiding principles in its unwavering thrust to provide quality education that cultivates passion for the country that is anchored on a set of core values.

The Mission outlines what we ought to do and how the different actors are to behave to bring us closer to the Vision.

The core values that ground us are Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa.

The Department's VMV is one document and should be read in its entirety to grasp the full meaning. It is a living document that is meant to reinvigorate our Agency and society as a whole. It is meant to permeate and to affect the way we behave and how we find solutions to complex issues. It is meant to be part of public discourse and personal transformation. It is not static and not intended for mere posting on walls and tables.
