Who is the new brand ambassador for OPPO? Let the guessing games begin


Who is the new face of the #SelfieExpert?  A photo uploaded on OPPO’s social media accounts sparked a guessing game on who could possibly be the ambassador for the mobile technology brand.

OPPO’s social media posts show that the ‘new’ brand ambassador is boy-next-door material, a heartthrob who could sweep the ladies off their feet.
“In the past few months, we have noticed how some of our favorite celebrities fell in love with our latest smartphone, the F1s, and the way it captures stunning selfies anytime, anywhere,” said OPPO Brand Marketing Manager Stephen Cheng. “We can all feel the excitement of knowing who would show us how to bring out our inner selfie expert.”
The OPPO is now the country’s bestselling smartphone brand according to a report by German-based market research organization GfK.

The OPPO F1s made its debut in the Philippines last August and proved to be an instant hit, selling out within three days of its launch in concept and dealer stores.

But it seems that OPPO is not just getting a new ambassador for its brand. 

While the guesses keep coming, anticipation also mounts for OPPO’s other upcoming revelation. A photo uploaded on OPPO’s social media accounts show silver liquid dripping from an OPPO smartphone, hinting that an unveiling is about to take place.

‘A Merry Christmas with Pat Boone’


American singer, composer, actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker Pat Boone, whose musical career spans over 50 years will perform in a special Christmas concert in Manila on December 6, 2016. Venue is the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Pat was the most popular singer in the U.S. next to Elvis Presley in the late1950s and has sold 45 million records, had 38 Top 40 hits and appeared in more than 12 Hollywood films.

In his special Christmas concert in Manila, Pat will perform the most popular Christmas carols such as White Christmas, Silent Night, Silver Bells, I’ll Be Home For Christmas, O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and many more.

"POWERHOUSE" Pinoy World-Class Performers at The Theatre on October 28

A most nostalgic show of the year with Filipino World-Class Performers concert will happen only on October 28, 2016 at 7:30PM at The Theatre. 

Lucky 7 Koi Productions, Inc., a group of friends of Solaire Resort and Casino, gathered some of the country’s world-class performers to a musical showdown. 

"Powerhouse" features the remarkable talents The Journey’s Arnel Pineda, Your Face Sounds Familiar 2nd Placer Michael Pangilinan, The Next Big Diva Morissette and X-Factor UK finalist The 4th Impact will hit the music battle ground of The Theatre for this one of a kind treat. Joining them as front act is the beautiful Mayumi (Grand Champion Jap-Pinoy Star Quest of ABS-CBN) and T.O.M.S. Band.

Arnel Pineda is a great rocker – former vocalist of Ijos and Amo Band in the ‘80s before he joined The Journey when the group saw a video of Arnel whose voice was strikingly close to that of Steve Perry, legendary front man of The Journey. Arnel has been doing sold out shows with The Journey in Chile, Las Vegas, etc.

Michael Pangilinan, and Bagong Kilabot ng mga Kolehiyala, won the hearts of many when he landed 2nd place in the Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 2 in ABS-CBN. Prior to that, he interpreted twice in ABS-CBN’s Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs in 2014 and 2016 with his song Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako in 2014 garnering more than 8 million views on You Tube. He just released his second album under Start Music with Hanggang Kailan as its carrier single. This heartthrob of the music business is a born star – controversial and multi-talented.

Morissette is undoubtedly The Next Big Diva of the music industry. She always wows her audience with any song she renders – her whistles are incomparable. After landing as finalist in the first season of ABS-CBN’s The Voice, Morissette’s career soared high. Selling out show here and abroad and has done some theme songs for TV dramas like Moon of Desire of ABS-CBN, etc. In 2012 she made her Broadway debut in the Repertory Philippine production of Disney’s Camp Rock.


The 4th Impact is composed of sisters Mylene, Irene, Almira and Celina – 4 powerful voices who do sing and dance numbers. When they auditioned for X-Factor UK, they carried the name 4th Power but later on changed it to The 4th Impact after they wowed the judges led by Simon Cowell.

ANC’s “Mukha” Wins First Cannes Award For ABS-CBN News

ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel recently made history after its “Mukha” documentary series snagged a Silver Dolphin at the 7th Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards last October 13 in Cannes, France. This is ABS-CBN News’ first trophy from the prestigious award-giving body.

“Mukha” won in the Current Affairs, Human Concerns & Social Issues category for its episode “Sisid,” which is about a father who dives underwater for sand as a way to make a living.

ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current Affairs head Ging Reyes accepted the award, together with “Mukha” executive producer Hera Sanchez, producer Kelvin Paulino, and DocuCentral and “Mukha” director Dan Buenaventura.

Reyes said “Mukha’s” historic win was a welcome surprise for the team, which only wanted to share the plight of sand divers in the Davao River.

“This particular documentary shows us what the Filipino is made of, no matter his status in life. It is very heartwarming for us in ABS-CBN News to know that there are people who really give help to the people we have featured in “Mukha,”she said.

Paulino, one of the episode’s producers, said the award gives them motivation to continue doing what they do.

“We knew the story was special but we didn’t expect that their plight will also resonate with the international audience. The DocuCentral team is a small documentary team and this award affirms our mission to share the struggles and triumphs of the Filipino people,” he said.

“Mukha” is a world-class TV production of DocuCentral, the documentary arm of ABS-CBN. “Sisid” joins other“Mukha” episodes that also made it to other prestigious competitions such as “Aruga” (Finalist, 2016 New York Festivals), “Sagwan” (Finalist, UNICEF Child’s Rights Awards 2015; Nominee, Lasallian Scholarum Awards 2015), “Musmos (Finalist, UNICEF Child’s Rights Awards2015), “Titser” (Official Entry, Documentary Section, Cinemalaya 2015), and “Kamusmusan” (Nominee, Lasallian Scholarum Awards 2015).
