Ronnie Liang’s latest music video ‘Ligaya’ now a hit!

Directed by Justin Santos, creative direction by Floyd Tena, and choreographed by Christian Palma, Ronnie Liang’s latest music video ‘Ligaya’ gets good reviews and draws funny reactions from netizens after its release.

The new music video, which is out now on YouTube and Myx, has a millennial and k-pop taste which attracts young audience. The singer-actor enjoys doing the music video as it allows him to dance, an unusual version of the song popularized by Eraserheads.

“I love the choreography. Like everyone can dance and can feel the vibe. Also, the meaning and the story of the song is still there. We just arranged it to fit millennial’s taste. It’s a feel good, but the story is there.”

Liang sings like it is his own song. He dances well in the music video, he’s having fun, he’s enjoying, so refreshing to see him dancing. The whole video is fun to watch.

‘Ligaya’ tops the chart and earns its spot as one of the most requested songs on radio, Spotify, and Myx.

For 11 consecutive years, he has been celebrating his birthday with cancer patients from the Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

He shares that he became involved in this advocacy after he visited the center, saw the children’s situation for the first time. That started his journey with the cancer patients.

“I love helping kids. They always touch my heart.

“We gave toys and meals. We ate together and played with them.

“Also, I serenaded/rendered a song number for the kids, parents, nurses and some doctors of Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

“I certainly consider myself to be one of the luckiest people in this world, which is why on my birthday, I don't want to ask God for anything but thank Him for all the good things He has blessed me with over the years and spending my birthday with the cancer stricken kids is my way of reciprocating God’s goodness in my life and in my career. “

East-West Seed stays on top of Access to Seeds Index

Bridging the gap between seed companies and smallholder farmers
Improving smallholder farmers' access to quality seeds is a crucial first step to achieve the goal of feeding the world sustainably.

East-West Seed, a tropical vegetable seed company with both Filipino and Dutch roots, has maintained its top position in the recently launched Access to Seeds Index.

Access to Seeds, an independent organization funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Dutch government, yesterday announced the results of its Global Seed Index from its Amsterdam headquarters.

The Index placed East-West Seed in the top rank, besting 13 other global seed companies on their commitment and performance in providing the world’s smallholder farmers access to quality seeds.

In November last year, the South and Southeast Asia Index was launched which also placed East-West Seed at number 1 among 24 companies surveyed. This brings four straight #1 rankings for the Asia-based company, sustaining its good performance in 2016 when the first Seed Index was released and where East-West Seed led the pack in the Global Vegetable and East Africa indices.

Looking at the measurement areas of the Index, East-West Seed earns the highest score in Research and Development due to its broad breeding programs that include a large number of local crops. It also leads in Marketing and Sales because of its extensive distribution channels and the availability of seeds in small packaging, which are accessible and affordable to smallholders.

Further, it scores high in the Seed Production measurement area because of its collaboration with smallholder farmers, who account for 95% of its production. Read the inspiring story of a young seed grower here.

Access to Seeds aims to shine a light on how seed companies can step up efforts to improve access to quality seeds of improved varieties for smallholder farmers. It believes that seed companies are a crucial partner in efforts to raise smallholder farmer productivity and achieve food and nutrition security.
East-West Seed tops the 2019 Global Seed Index, outperforming 13 other global seed companies on their commitment and actions to provide the world’s smallholder farmers access to quality seeds.

Grand Homecoming Awaits Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray

A homecoming fit for a queen is what awaits Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray when she returns to the Philippines in February. Gray, who resides in New York City during her reign, has been fulfilling her duties as Miss Universe and is set to fly back to the country on February 20. Alongside her Binibining Pilipinas family, Gray will hold activities with select media and VIP guests, and participate in charitable activities with the BPCI Chair, Mrs. Stella Marquez Araneta.

Gray’s philanthropic work and passion to give back remains priority among her role this year as Miss Universe. Her return to the Philippines will provide an opportunity to visit and support organizations close to her heart such as LoveYourself, an organization focused on advocating for HIV/Aids education and testing; and Smile Train, an international charity that supports 100%-free cleft repair surgery and care for children in underprivileged communities.

Additionally, Gray is expected to make a visit Tondo, Manila where she has since supported Young Focus Philippines to provide access to education for children living in the area.

A highlight of Gray’s return to the Philippines will be the Grand Homecoming Parade that will provide fans and all Filipinos the opportunity to see and support Miss Universe through their attendance. The Grand Parade will take the reigning Miss Universe to the streets of Manila and Makati on February 21. Catriona will again be welcomed with a homecoming parade in Araneta Center on February 23.

Gray will return to the Smart Araneta Coliseum where her journey to the Miss Universe crown began when she became a Binibining Pilipinas Queen. A fan appreciation event will be held during her time here for fans and supporters. Additionally, people can expect a celebration as grand as the one given to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, who ended a four-decade hiatus for the Philippines in the pageant.

While Pia rode a float that resembled her blue crown during her homecoming parade in 2016, Filipinos and fans everywhere are already anticipating what the iconic float for Catriona’s Metro Manila and Araneta Center parades will be.

With her crown-clinching performance on the Miss Universe stage, her now world-famous “lava walk,” and slow-mo turn, Ibong Adarna and Mt. Mayon inspired gowns, as well as a memorable final word that encouraged seeing the silver lining in every situation, Catriona has captured not just the crown, but the hearts of millions of people worldwide.

Catriona Gray’s grand homecoming is supported and spearheaded by The Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. and the Araneta Center.
