World Vision's Mother-Baby Friendly Philippines Re-Launches Updated Reporting Platform and Public Service Announcement

World Vision Development Foundation’s Mother-Baby Friendly Philippines (MBFP) 
re-launched reporting platforms to officially present the enhancements in the website and mobile app, and introduce its first Public Service Announcement (PSA) and TV ads that aims to inspire other moms to continue breastfeeding beyond 2 years, despite all the struggles they may be facing. 


In August 2017, World Vision Development Foundation’s Mother-Baby Friendly Philippines (MBFP) project introduced three reporting platforms that seek to monitor compliance and non-compliance to Executive Order 51 (Philippine Milk Code of 1986), Republic Act 7600 (Rooming-In and Breastfeeding Act of 1992), and Republic Act 10028 (Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009). 




MBFP developed a website (mbfp.doh.gov.ph), a mobile application (MBF Ph), and a text mechanism to encourage a crowd-based monitoring system of the mentioned laws. As of this writing, more than 200 reported violations have already been validated and are being acted upon by the concerned government agencies. 




MBFP re-launched its reporting platforms to officially present the enhancements in the website and mobile app, including a more user-friendly interface and Filipino translation of the report form. The app, on the other hand, now includes a Growth Chart and Early Child Care and Development (ECCD) Checklist to assist parents in tracking the development of their child. 

Several officials from the Department of Health, as well as MBFP’s partners from the local government units of Malabon, Manila, and Quezon City were present at the event. World Vision Ambassadors Christine Bersola-Babao, Tippy Dos Santos and Gelli Victor participated in the activity.

Nissan Philippines appoints Shell as official fuel

Nissan Philippines Incorporated (NPI), Japan’s second-largest automotive company and the Philippines’ third largest in automotive sales, officially endorses Shell Fuels in the country. 

In attendance during the signing of the memorandum of agreement that formalized the partnership were Shell National Sales Manager and Marketing Manager for Retail Kit Bermudez, Shell Senior Fuels Brand Manager Mark Malabanan, Nissan Philippines General Manager for Marketing Edgardo Obias, Nissan Philippines Senior Manager for Product and Retail Marketing Emmanuel John San Luis, and Nissan Philippines Assistant Manager for Cross-Car Line Marketing Karen Ann Araniego.

According to Bermudez, this alliance is only a gateway to many initiatives that will benefit the loyal customers of the two global brands.

It’s about giving them our best products and services- cars and fuels that work best together,” said Bermudez. “If you have an entry level vehiclethat needs fuel efficiency, we have Shell FuelSave. If you have a Nissan Patrol and need power and performance, we also have Shell V-Power. There’s always a Shell fuel that works great with whatever your drive is.” 

Nissan Philippines General Manager for Marketing Dino Obias, said that this partnership will create significant impact for both brands, particularly recent with fuel price rises, through initiatives that show how Nissan and Shell can collaborate to make journeys even better for motorists.

“At Nissan, our customers always come first. And that is why we are supporting them by creating a retail campaign that gives them a chance to win free fuel for five years,” explained Obias. “Starting with this, we are subsequently looking forward to continuing our partnership with Shell in the months to come.”

Under the Shell-Nissan partnership, all customers who purchase a participating Nissan model via cash or bank purchase order of financing will be automatically entitled to join the raffle promo. 

A customer will get a chance to win free Shell Fuels with the corresponding prizes (whichever comes first):
- Five (5) lyears or P500,000 worth of Shell Fuels  
- Three (3) years or P300,000 worth of Shell Fuels 
- One (1) year of P100,000 worth of Shell Fuels
