Heaven in danger in "Bagong Umaga" finale

Heaven is getting closer to pinning Diana (Glydel Mercado) for her crimes against her family and friends but she and her parents will face grave danger in the final week of “Bagong Umaga.” Diana escaped while being transferred to another mental facility.

Hospital staff and authorities discovered her communicating with suspicious individuals using a phone hidden in her room. Unbeknownst to all, she intended to be caught because the only way she could successfully escape is when she is transferred to another hospital.

Diana remains thirsty for revenge even after her escape and finding out that her daughter is still alive. She still wants to have the Veradonas killed because she believes that only when Tisay is gone will her daughter come to her.

But she will not be able to do this alone. She needs the help of one of Ian’s enemies – Matthew (Richard Quan).

Will Diana be able to convince Matthew to kill the Veradonas? Will their plan be discovered?

Watch the finale of “Bagong Umaga” this week on A2Z channel, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live via the YouTube channel and Facebook page of ABS-CBN Entertainment, and iWantTFC. Outside the country, it is available on The Filipino Channel.

Smile Train Launches First Filipino Speech Therapy App

For the thousands of babies born with a cleft each year, speech therapy is an essential need. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has disrupted access to speech therapy services.

Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft charity, stands by its commitment to continue promoting comprehensive cleft care despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic with the launch of its online speech therapy services.

With telehealth emerging as an important pillar of healthcare delivery in the Philippines, Smile Train Philippines is launching the very first Filipino mobile speech application in the country designed for those who were born with a cleft. The app was developed to help parents, guardians, and children in accessing speech therapy services online. With kid-friendly features and lively graphics, the app leads to a wide array of educational videos and speech therapy sessions, all in Filipino. The app also serves as a platform for more patients and families affected with cleft to connect with healthcare professionals to ensure that they can continue to receive comprehensive cleft care with minimal disruptions.

Since the start of the pandemic, Smile Train’s speech telehealth program in the Philippines has treated over 200 patients, providing them with more than 1,000 cleft care-related sessions— including speech therapy, nutritional support, breastfeeding guidance for mothers of babies with clefts, pre-surgical consultations, and psychosocial care. Smile Train envisions the app to be more than just a platform for learning, seeing it as a way to bring more smiles to cleft-affected families in the Philippines.

“Technology has allowed us at Smile Train to deliver the speech therapy needs of children with cleft throughout this pandemic. Safety is our foremost priority, and I am glad that this app allows us to safely serve the needs of these kids in the comfort and safety of their own homes,” said Smile Train’s South East Asia Director Kimmy Flaviano.

The Smile Train app also addresses a glaring gap in reaching kids with cleft. “With the app, distance is no longer a problem. Kids may start their speech therapy sessions which they otherwise would not have started without the app. Furthermore, the app encourages more Speech Pathologists to partner with Smile Train,” said Veronica Yu, a speech pathologist and the lead content creator of the app. “Partnering with Smile Train is life-changing, and I know that the Smile Train app will give many speech pathologists the fulfillment of knowing that they are making a difference in people’s lives,” Yu concluded.

“With or without the pandemic, digitalization of health services is definitely important as it allows patients to access health services in a more cost-effective way,” said Jeo Paz, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nifty Hero. “This is precisely what the Smile Train speech app is trying to accomplish, providing hundreds of families with cleft access to speech therapy services at little to no cost at all, wherever they may be.”

Nifty Hero
is the developer of the Smile Train app, advocating to help non-profit organizations in creating sustainable, cost-effective, and value-added health solutions to help organize, automate, and improve services offered.

The app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play in April. For more details about the app, visit http://smiletrainspeechapp.com/

PascualLab gets CHOSEN

PascualLab and World Vision join hands to help underprivileged children in Malabon

Amidst this looming pandemic, Pascual Laboratories, Inc. (PascualLab) and international child-focused organization World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. (World Vision) join hands to bring hope to children in need through the child sponsorship initiative, CHOSEN.

Through CHOSEN, children are given the chance and opportunity to pick their sponsors.  In most sponsorship programs, children sometimes wait for a long time before they get selected. Through this charity program, they are given the chance to take hold of their future by doing the choosing.

To empower these underprivileged children in World Vision-assisted communities and to share them financial assistance and essentials through CHOSEN, the organization’s Philippine branch reached out to PascualLab, one of the most trusted pharmaceutical companies in the Philippines¹ and over 140 employees heeded the call.

Through their sponsorship, PascualLab will be able to assist more than their original target of 75 children - a number symbolic of PascualLab’s years in the industry. And through this novel way of sponsorship, PascualLab hopes to help spread love, as its anniversary theme #PascualLove speaks of, during a time when it is so easy to see things in a negative light.

PascualLab Chairman of the Board, President and CEO Jose Augusto Pascual said:
“In these bleak and uncertain times, people latch on to any glimmer of hope they can find in their day-to-day lives. And so late last year, when the World Vision team initially proposed the idea of their charity program CHOSEN, we thought it was something that could give a ray of light to those in need. For PascualLab, it would enable our Family Members to reach out to underprivileged Filipino children and to share some PascualLOVE, given the situation we were and still are in, and the challenges that we continue to face.”

World Vision’s National Director Rommel Fuerte thanked PascualLab especially its volunteer employees, who signed up to be chosen as sponsors.  “With your support, children and their families can have access to healthcare, quality education as well as programs on livelihood, safety, and spiritual development,” he said.

The partnership was recently sealed in a virtual MoA signing between the two teams led by Fuerte and Pascual, Mia Pascual Cenzon, PascualLab VP for Corporate HROD and Design Services and Corporate Communications, and World Vision Director for Resource and Development Director Santos Godornes, Jr.
