Garmin has unveiled the all new Approach® G82, a launch monitor and advanced GPS handheld. This seamless golf tool features expanded radar metrics to help golfers fine-tune their swing and introduces putting metrics to improve consistency on the green.

This launch comes as Garmin continues to see strong momentum in the sport globally, with golfers under 20 increasing by 76% and those aged 20-29 by 53%. This growth is matched by performance gains as shown in its latest Trends in Golf Data Report, as golfers who used a Garmin launch monitor or simulator in the past year have improved their scores by an average of 4.4 strokes after six months – highlighting how access to performance data can drive real results.

Practice makes perfect

Whether hitting the driving range or practicing on the course, the Approach G82 includes several features to help golfers improve their game:

Built-in launch monitor: Utilize essential radar metrics – including ball speed, club speed, smash factor and tempo – to make swing adjustments at the driving range.

Putting metrics: Improve putting consistency with the only handheld that offers putting metrics, including stroke length, tempo, club and ball speed and more.

Bag mapping: Evaluate each club at the driving range and record how far they typically play. Data integrates with the virtual caddie feature to help golfers make informed decisions when they get to the course.

Target practice: Set target carry or total distances and try to place as many shots as possible within the ideal range.

Tempo training: Improve contact consistency by working on the ideal backswing and downswing times for every shot.

Club speed training: Measure club speed without needing to hit a ball and can be used with swing speed training aids.

Designed to give students hands-on learning beyond the classroom, the program introduces GEN V, a student-led ambassador community under vivo Club.

The vivo Campus Ambassador Program offers a unique experience for university students who are ready to explore leadership, creativity, and real-world marketing in a global brand environment.
