EastWestbanker Peter Arreglado Paddles to Gold, Embodying Excellence and Teamwork Beyond the Workplace

Workplace flexibility helps the 42-year-old employee-athlete balance his EastWest career with competitive dragon boat racing.

[CEBU CITY, Philippines] — Cebu-based EastWest employee-athlete Peter Arreglado continues to bring pride to the Bank after securing gold and bronze medals at the 3rd Iloilo City Paddling Festival held last August 20 to 23, 2026, further proving that the values of discipline, teamwork, resilience, and excellence extend beyond the workplace.

Peter Arreglado celebrates his gold and bronze finishes at the 3rd Iloilo City Paddling Festival.

Arreglado, who is part of EastWest’s Cebu Office Real and Other Properties Acquired (ROPA) team, won gold in the Mixed 250-meter Small Boat category and bronze in the Mixed 100-meter Small Boat category. Competing with the Sugbu Mighty Dragons, he helped the team finish the festival with an impressive medal haul of five golds, one silver, and one bronze.

The latest win adds to Arreglado’s growing list of achievements in dragon boat racing, a sport he has pursued for nearly seven years while building his career with EastWest. The Bank encourages its people to aim high in their careers and pursue the passions that matter to them outside work. His success shows the same drive in action.

“My hybrid work set up contributes a lot by adding leeway of time to my personal training during weekdays,” Arreglado said. “At the age of 42, I was able to handle work-life balance.”

For Arreglado, the Iloilo festival celebrated what he calls “the bond of togetherness through and beyond the dragon boat.” The sport relies on trust, coordination, and a shared goal, much like any strong team in the workplace.

“I consider dragon boat training as one of my stress relievers,” he shared. “For those seeking an extreme sport that will test the adrenaline, discipline, and teamwork, try dragon boat paddling.”

A journey of discipline, resilience, and national pride

Arreglado’s strong performance in Iloilo follows his stint at the 2024 International Canoe Federation Dragon Boat World Championships in Puerto Princesa, where he represented the Philippines as part of the Master’s National Team. He earned silver in the 200-meter small boat event and bronze medals in the 500-meter small boat and 2,000-meter standard boat events, contributing to the country’s top finish in the medal standings with 11 gold medals.

Arreglado and the Sugbu Mighty Dragons finish the festival with five golds, one silver, and one bronze.

EastWest supported his preparation for that international campaign through workplace flexibility and financial assistance which enabled him to manage his responsibilities at work while training for competition at the highest level. Arreglado has continued to build his career at EastWest while competing in the sport he loves.

Through employees like Arreglado, EastWest’s values come to life in ways that go beyond day-to-day banking. His story demonstrates how excellence is built through consistency, how teamwork drives shared success, and how resilience enables individuals to keep moving forward despite demanding goals.

Arreglado is already preparing for his next challenge as he and his team compete at the NUSTAR Dragon Boat Regatta 2026. As he returns to the water, he carries with him the same discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that define both his sport and his work as an EastWestbanker.

How to Stay On Top of Your Game with the OPPO Find N6

For C-suite leaders and professionals constantly on the move, work cannot remain tied to a desk. Decisions still need to be made, emails answered, research reviewed, and presentations refined whether between meetings, in transit, or traveling for business.

Designed as a Pocket AI Workstation, the OPPO Find N6 brings a more capable workspace into a slim foldable form. Its expansive 8.12-inch inner display and Free-Flow Window enable desktop-class multitasking, allowing users to open, resize, and work across multiple apps with ease. Together with intelligent AI tools, seamless cross-device connectivity, flagship performance, and a 6000mAh battery, it enables professionals to stay productive without always reaching for a laptop.

Here are some of the ways the OPPO Find N6 can make work more seamless and efficient, wherever business takes you.

Turn Anywhere Into Your Workspace

At 8.12 inches, the OPPO Find N6 features one of the largest inner displays among book-style foldable smartphones available today which gives professionals a true mobile workspace for reviewing detailed presentations, working through documents, conducting research, responding to messages, and managing several priorities at once.

Free-Flow Window turns that space into a powerful multitasking environment. Users can open and resize up to four applications and move smoothly between multi-window and Split View. This means they can reference a document while drafting an email, keep presentation materials visible during a video call, or manage conversations alongside important work files—all without repeatedly switching between apps or losing momentum.

The industry-first Zero-Feel Crease makes the experience even more seamless, creating a flatter viewing surface that allows documents, visuals, and presentations to take full advantage of the display with fewer distractions.

Despite offering a tablet-like workspace when unfolded, the OPPO Find N6 retains an ultra-slim, portable design. Folded, it works as a capable everyday smartphone. Opened, it becomes a Pocket AI Workstation giving mobile professionals one of the biggest screens in its class and a smarter way to put every inch of it to work.

More Ways to Connect Across Devices and Ecosystems

Professionals often work across several devices, and the OPPO Find N6 offers multiple ways to keep those workflows connected even when different operating systems are involved. For fast, nearby transfers, Quick Share allows users to send presentations, documents, photos, and other files directly to compatible devices, including iPhones through Apple’s AirDrop. This makes it easier to exchange materials before a meeting, collaborate with colleagues, or retrieve an important file without relying on cables or cloud uploads.

Beyond file transfers, Cross-Ecosystem Connect brings calls, messages, and app notifications from connected devices within easier reach, helping professionals stay focused without constantly moving between screens.

Together, Quick Share and Cross-Ecosystem Connect allow the OPPO Find N6 to fit more seamlessly into an existing technology ecosystem by keeping files, communications, and essential tasks connected across platforms.

Get to What Matters Faster with the Snap Key

Sometimes productivity is not about completing one major task faster, but removing the small, repetitive steps that interrupt the day. Unlocking a phone, searching for an app, and navigating through menus may take only a few seconds, but those interruptions can quickly add up especially when moving between meetings, calls, and deadlines.

The OPPO Find N6’s dedicated Snap Key provides direct access to frequently used functions, from AI Mind Space to everyday shortcuts. With a single press, users can quickly capture an idea before it is forgotten, save important information for later, or open an essential tool without navigating through several screens.

For consumers, this means less time searching and more time acting. Whether recording a sudden thought, saving something useful while browsing, or accessing a go-to feature in a hurry, the Snap Key helps users respond in the moment and continue with their day. During a packed schedule, that added convenience helps preserve focus, reduce friction, and keep even small tasks from disrupting the larger workflow.

Performance That Keeps Pace with Your Workday

Behind the OPPO Find N6's productivity experience is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, providing the flagship performance needed to handle demanding everyday workflows. Whether switching between applications, joining video conferences, reviewing large files, editing content, or balancing work and entertainment, the OPPO Find N6 is designed to remain fast and responsive throughout the experience.

That performance is backed by a 6000mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon Battery, giving professionals the power they need to stay connected and productive through long meetings, commutes, business trips, and everything in between.

With the OPPO Find N6, your workspace is no longer defined by where your laptop is. It is wherever you happen to be.

The OPPO Find N6 is priced at PHP 139,999. Customers can also enjoy exclusive offers and freebies available for a limited time. Globe subscribers can avail of the Find N6 through GPlan 2499 with PHP 73,600 cashout, while Smart users can purchase the device under Smart Infinity Plan 5000, with exclusive benefits.

Step into a career of income, independence and impact

Leaders from the Agila Financial Team General Insurance Agency share their purpose-driven journey to win in life during InLife’s Business Opportunity Forum.

An effective way to start a conversation about insurance is not by selling a product, but by sharing a real story. Since many Filipinos are hesitant about insurance, InLife financial advisors talk about their personal experiences to explain the value of financial security and the purpose behind the career.

During the recent InLife Business Opportunity Forum in Iloilo, leaders from the Agila Financial Team General Insurance Agency shared their journey to win in life.

Sam Booc, a three-time qualifier of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a prestigious global association of top-performing life insurance and financial services professionals, left her acting career to become a financial advisor.

She explained three important I’s, namely, income, independence, and impact as she asked a few questions: “With your income now, are you living or just surviving? With time, are you making your days count or just counting your days? When it comes to impact, does your life matter or are you just a head count?”

As a financial advisor, she enjoys unlimited income, work-life balance, and fulfillment in helping others–all at the same time. “There is no age, education, or capital requirement to become a financial advisor. On top of the commissions, I travel the world for free. In my quest for success, fulfillment, and happiness, the industry awards I received meant that I’ve helped others achieve financial security,” she said.

Share your story

At only 22 years old, Princess Cecile Gurrea has explored more than 22 countries and enjoyed financial security, thanks to her parents, Celix and Mercy, who are both long-time InLife financial advisors.

A career as a financial advisor—formerly known as an insurance agent—may not be a familiar path to many. But Gurrea said just as an investigation agent solves crimes, an insurance agent or financial advisor helps solve the customers’ financial problems through planning.

“The best way to start conversations about insurance with most Filipinos who are unfamiliar and uncomfortable with the topic is by telling your own story, not by selling. When you truly believe and experience the value of financial security, people will feel your sincerity, and they will listen and trust you,” she said.

Never too late to build your dream

Rhoie Allan Yncierto never believed in insurance until the pandemic became his turning point, leading him to leave network marketing and pursue the financial advisor career.

“With InLife, I finally experienced income sustainability,” Yncierto said, reflecting on his previous business ventures selling toothpaste, sanitary napkins, and milk tea.

Today, he is one of InLife's top unit managers with the highest number of financial advisor recruits. "It's never too late to start. Build your dream and create a better tomorrow," he said.
