The Spice Girls , 14 years after they split up, reunited for one night to perform at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Performing at the near end of an evening that highlighted the best of British music, the legendary pop group of the mid nineties took to the stage onboard five colored London taxi cabs, and to defeaning cheers from the crowd.
Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) – climbed into cages atop the taxis, which drove around the stadium while the girls sang “Spice Up Your Life” and “Wannabe.”
