ABS-CBN’s newest primetime teleserye “The Good Son” starring rising teen star Joshua Garciaearned rave reviews from members of the entertainment press and bloggers who watched the special screening of its first three episodes recently.
“There’s no doubt ‘The Good Son’ will be loved and embraced (by viewers). The artists are excellent, the story telling a winner. Joshua Garcia is without a doubt the best young actor we have right now,” said Abante Tonite columnist Alwyn Ignacio.
“No scene is wasted by the teleserye’s actors…. ‘TGS’ is drama at its best! The teleserye brings together great veterans and young actors. They are all so excellent!” said Dominic Rea, entertainment columnist for Tiktik.
Aside from the performances, the writers also praised the series’ direction and story about brothers Joseph (Joshua), Obet (McCoy De Leon), Enzo (Jerome Ponce), and Calvin (Nash Aguas), who come from different families and search for the truth about their father’s sudden death.
“It would be the barometer by which soap operas are measured as it boasts of an ensemble acting, a very good dramatic narrative, and a story line which all of us can relate to. It gives one a ringside view of how families cope with death and infidelity,” said Alex Brosas of Manila Bulletin.
“It’s been so long since the last time we watched a drama series this great – so compelling, so well-directed, so-well acted, so brilliantly made and performed,” said Vinia Vivar, who writes forBulgar, Pang-Masa, and People’s Journal Tonight.
Kata Adajar of blog Random Republika also remarked, “’The Good Son is more than just a showcase of brilliant acting, its strength lies in a really compelling story.”
The highly anticipated family drama also features this generation’s top teen actresses Loisa Andalio, Elisse Joson, and Alexa Ilacad, with seasoned stars Mylene Dizon, Eula Valdez, John Estrada, Ronnie Lazaro, Jeric Raval, Alex Medina, and Kathleen Hermoso. This is under the direction of Manny Palo and Andoy Ranay.
Don’t miss the unusual case of love for family in “The Good Son,” started September 25 after “La Luna Sangre.”
