As Christmas carolling begins to fade in today’s fast-paced generation, this event offers a chance to bring back the joy and nostalgia of going door-to-door singing holiday classics. Customers are welcome to step into IKEA’s roomsets and fill the spaces with the warmth of Christmas songs.
Adding a creative twist, participants can craft their own instruments, blending the timeless spirit of carolling with IKEA’s commitment to eco-friendly living. It’s more than just singing—it’s about creating cherished memories, reconnecting with traditions, and celebrating the season in a meaningful, sustainable way.

Whether it’s carolling, shopping for thoughtful gifts, or finding inspiration for holiday décor, IKEA Pasay City is the ultimate Christmas destination. It’s not just a store—it’s a happy place for making the season brighter and more meaningful.

Visit IKEA Pasay City from December 16 to 20, and let the sounds of Filipino Christmas bring your holiday dreams to life.

For more details, visit IKEA Pasay City’s official Facebook page or shop online at www.IKEA.ph.

Participants of all ages, whether solo or in groups, are welcome to join the festivities. Perform one to two Christmas carols and have the chance to draw a special aguinaldo from IKEA co-workers. Lucky participants could win up to PHP 5,000 worth of IKEA Gift Cards to make their holidays even brighter! Everyone is invited to stay and get into the Christmas cheer as special performances have been lighting up the store throughout the week, including memorable performances by Christian Bautista and Maki, with a highly anticipated surprise performance on 20 December.

IKEA Philippines recently donated over P1.2M to Better World Smokey Mountain (BWSM), a community center managed by San Miguel Foundation, to benefit more than 1,500 families and children in Tondo, Manila.

Proceeds will help more than 1,500 families and children in Smokey Mountain, Tondo
---------------------------------------------

The proceeds of the donation drive were from the Swedish home furnishing brand’s Better World, Better Toys campaign wherein P50 from every purchase of any soft toy will be donated to Better World Smokey Mountain. Customers chose from wide variety of irresistible cuddly companions, ranging from the KRAMIG panda bear to aquatic mammals of the BLAVINGAD collection, and space creatures and aliens from the AFTONSPARV collection.

More than 24,000 IKEA soft toys were sold in the duration of the drive from November 13 to December 16, 2023.

“We are extremely grateful for the continuous generosity of IKEA Philippines. From the ideation phase of BWSM to now furthering the cause of our centers, IKEA has been there with us not only in terms of financial support but in other aspects as well,” said Mark Rebucan, Program Associate, San Miguel Foundation

The funds shall be utilized in the implementation of additional extra-curricular activities that will allow members of all ages to hone their creative skills including dance, music, and arts. Additionally, the funds will help procure other materials needed for the establishment of another playground that will cater to babies and toddlers. Income-generating projects for its members such as livelihood programs of nanay leaders will also benefit from the donation.

In September 2023, IKEA Philippines provided and assembled home furnishings for the classrooms and library of Better World Smokey Mountain community center that serves as a learning and skills development center for 2,500 families or roughly 12,500 individuals from the historically underserved communities in Tondo.

Creating partnerships for positive impact in social communities is one of IKEA Philippines’ sustainability commitments. Currently, IKEA is also working with R2R (Rags2Riches) as their sewing service provider in IKEA Pasay City.

"It’s prime time to make home feel like home – because nothing beats that feeling" - IKEA

Home is the most important place in the world. At present times, people stayed in their main home during lockdown or restrictive measures. During this pandemic life, many people especially working people and students have grown closer to their homes - working from home, online classes, webinar and zoom meetings and conferences.

For feeling safe and comfortable, home has proved to be the haven people need.

It has always been the mission of IKEA to improve life at home for the many Filipinos. And by offering beautiful, functional, and affordable design, as well as home furnishing expertise, IKEA aims to help the many people with their challenges at home

IKEA also believes that #MakeSleepCount. Because we believe that a good night's sleep brings out the best in you.

It’s prime time to make home feel like home – because nothing beats that feeling.

As the dreamy days of the year start to draw in, you feel inspired to look ahead: shifting your focus from outdoor living to retreating inside. While you’re not ready for a seasonal overhaul just yet, you’re excited to elevate your home with small updates that have a big impact.

IKEA now highlighting the new products that fall under ‘A fun, fresh style’ and ‘A nostalgic feel’. Traditionalists will love our nostalgic, wild-floral bed linen, while the playful at heart will want to take home designer Hannah Wilcox’s graphic animal prints. It’s all here and so much more – ready to make your own.

Let's dive in.

A fun, fresh style

This youthful expression highlights simple and graphic forms to create a contemporary look that celebrates attention to detail. Expect bold monochrome patterns mixed with splashes of red for a playful touch, contrasted by soft, sandy beiges and light woods to add warmth. It’s functional and innovative, with a distinctly modern attitude.

Express yourself

The epitome of modern style, this solution introduces the art of self-expression in the bedroom. It’s the ultimate personal space – so let’s celebrate that by making it your own unique pocket of the world with fresh and fun ideas.

Designer Hannah Wilcox’s graphic prints are a great place to start. You might find love at the end of a non-conventional rainbow with the TAPETMAL pillowcase, or get to know some furry friends with the new PURPURBRÄCKA bed linen. Add a lucky burst of red with some bold, block-colour cushions and your room will instantly feel like a joyful place to be.

The TAPETMAL pillowcase is proof that you don’t always have to stay between the lines. A black and white rainbow that knows no bounds? We’ll take it.

Meet the designer: Hannah Wilcox

London-based designer Hannah Wilcox draws her inspiration from nature or visiting museums and art galleries.

“I see patterns everywhere,” she says. “I could be in a town or the countryside, but I’m always taking pictures and seeking out new colours and shapes.”

For her latest set of prints, she was influenced by a little tabby cat who kept coming to her door while she was living in Dublin during lockdown.

“One day he ran through my legs and up to the bedroom – he was everywhere, so I decided to paint him.”

“I then started seeing birds as Dublin has so many seagulls, and I loved the idea that these weren’t glamorous animals, but locals that were part of the neighbourhood.

The prints developed by having the concrete elements of the city, like organic spots on the roadside, mixed with the playfulness of the animals.

"They’re simple, fun and organic.”

“I hope this collection appeals to everyone,” she continues. “I think that purchasing something fun and quirky for the house is a great way to cheer everyone up; and given its simplicity and the use of one colour, people can also make it their own.”

“My favourite print from this collection is the Irish cat. He will always be in my heart now, I’ll never forget him.” — Hannah Wilcox, designer

Outfit your home for the new season

Just like your personal fashion wardrobe, a few small yet contemporary updates to your home can make all the difference for the season ahead. It’s not about transforming your entire look, but being smart and savvy with what you already have.

Instead of replacing your beloved foundation pieces, like KLIPPAN and POÄNG, give them a new lease of life by refreshing them with modern accessories. Perhaps it’s a statement cushion like TALLSPINNARE (courtesy of print designer Hannah Wilcox) or a graphic seat cover, the key is making effortless updates that feel endlessly inspiring.

Naturally calm, naturally made

This modern solution invites you to retreat inwards; to call in the calming effects of the outside world with dreamy bedroom textiles and wall decor made from natural fibres.

Why not weave in artisanal touches with MOLNSKOG, made with sustainable palm leaves? Alternatively, dive under the soft covers of KLYNNETÅG or look to the printed ODDNY cushion – both designed by Hannah Wilcox – for extra zest.

When your bedroom feels this serene, don’t be surprised if the snooze button becomes your best friend.

How to put the fun in home furnishings

Check it out. This Tic Tac Toe-inspired print brings endless opportunity to have fun – you just have to spot your moment, or board in this case. Ready to play? LYCKSELE and SPIKKLUBBA are.

Choose between different variations of the same design, mixing and matching different grid sizes to build a graphic look that inspires your creativity. Throw in some bold red furniture or statement wall art for a guaranteed win. The rules are, there are no rules.

A nostalgic feel

With traditional Gustavian influences, this look calls to mind the nostalgic, calming ambience of Scandinavian cottages. Expect a harmonious combination of dreamy pastels and soft tactile textures, decorated with romantic patterns including wild florals, stripes, and abstract dots.

Think rustic charm meets artisanal craftsmanship.

Layer like a pro

Got a thing for traditional florals? So do we. This season, celebrate the power of print by mixing and matching different blooms and textures to create a look that’s uniquely yours.

Why not start with the new NÄSSELKLOCKA bed linen, then build intrigue with a clashing pattern like the VERSTERVIG rug. The colour palette is still the same but the layered effect keeps it fresh. Dial it up, dial it down – the choice is yours, and that’s the beauty of it.

“Colors tie everything together, whether you’re mixing smaller prints with bigger ones or playing with the same patterns on different backgrounds. The aim is to create softness and have some fun!”
— Joseph Abbott, Interior designer

Coziness in full bloom

Stop for a moment and daydream: you’re transported to a sunkissed field in the countryside, surrounded by wild flowers without a care in the world. What if you could create that nostalgic feeling at home?

This solution is designed to do exactly that. It evokes a cosy, rustic mood with traditional patterns and materials that tie together beautifully with a soft pastel palette. Highlights include the new TIMJANSMOTT floral-print duvet and the OLDERDALEN bedside table. Ready to relax? We thought so.

Elevate any space with the new OLDERLADEN bedside table. This elegant piece of craftsmanship stands out for its sophistication, while blending in beautifully thanks to its calming – and versatile grey-green hue.

Opposites attract

One bed for two? No problem. You can still express your unique style and personality, even if it’s dramatically different to whoever you’re sharing it with. From early risers to night owls, traditionalists to trend-seekers – there’s something for everyone to ensure a perfect night’s sleep in a space that feels truly yours.

Perhaps you’re into stripes, like the LAPPDUNÖRT pillowcase, while your partner prefers soothing florals (hint: they’ll love the SOMMARSLÖJA duvet). Maybe you enjoy relaxing by candlelight, but they get more satisfaction from dimming a lamp. No one way is better than the other, it’s all about cosy compromises that celebrate the best of both.

IKEA inspires and enables sustainable life at home

The Swedish brand launches sustainability product range in the PH

(L-R) Dennis Ng, Founder and CEO, Mober; Paulo Pena, IKEA Sales Specialist;
Cynthia Cabrera, Artisan, Rags2Riches; Reese Fernandez-Ruiz, Founder, Rags2Riches;
Mandy Martirez, IKEA Supply Support Specialist; Pam Obieta, Kitchen Production Leader, IKEA Food; Georg Platzer, Store Manager, IKEA Pasay City; Karen Davila, Host

Manila – In support of its vision of creating a better everyday life at home, IKEA recently launched its sustainability range—a wide variety of affordable, quality home furnishings that will help the many Filipinos achieve a sustainable life at home.

While the concept of sustainable living is often viewed as challenging, unpractical, and expensive, IKEA simplifies it. “For us, a sustainable life at home is affordable and attainable through small actions that will eventually create a big impact on home life and on our Earth,” said Georg Platzer, Store Manager of IKEA Pasay City. “At IKEA we believe that sustainable living cannot be a luxury for the few. It must be affordable for the many.”

With more than 2,000 products that help people save energy and water, reduce waste, conserve resources, or settle into home furnishings made from renewable and recycled material, 57 solutions were specifically chosen and designed for Filipinos.

A practical, affordable, and sustainable life at home

Anchored on the principle that anyone can live sustainably, IKEA presents simple solutions so that the many Filipinos can make small, affordable, but still very meaningful actions that have a positive impact on the environment:

Furniture that lasts longer.

IKEA presents furniture that grows as a family grows. Rather than needing to be replaced, pieces can be supplemented with modules as needed. Products that can adapt as needs change are even more useful. For example, the PAHL desk, an adjustable table that helps avoid the cost and hassle of buying a new desk as your child grows.

Products that use less resources.

A pressure compensating aerator is standard across the whole IKEA range of taps and showers. This reduces the amount of water coming out by up to 50% but keeps the flow at the desired level. LED light bulbs are also standard across all IKEA products. Those use up to 85% less energy—this makes them planet friendly—and lasts 20 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

Products that help reduce waste.

The world is using and wasting resources more than ever. By practicing some small and smart changes at home like adhering to a waste sorting system, we can help the world’s waste problem. For instance, the SORTERA recycling bin allows you to recycle and compost, significantly reducing waste at home.

Reusable products.

From the trusty and durable FRAKTA bag to the IKEA 365+ food containers, IKEA products are meant to be reused many, many times. Something to look forward to is the STORSTOMMA, a rainbow-colored version of the Swedish retailers’ bestselling carrier bag, coming very soon.

Plant-based foods.

Plant-based foods have a smaller environmental impact than meat and dairy products. The problem is plant-based food often comes at the expense of flavor and texture. That’s not the case with the HUVUDROLL plant ball, a plant-based alternative that’s just as delicious its meat counterpart. The HUVUDROLL is fast becoming a favorite of Filipinos, so be sure to grab them right away because they sell out real quick.

Products made from natural and responsibly sourced materials.

Wood is durable, recyclable, and renewable if grown and used responsibly—It also looks great. Bamboo is another sustainable raw material used in IKEA products. Its strength and stability provide possibilities for construction with thinner elements and boards, resulting in reduced use of material. This saves natural resources and increases savings during transport. Bamboo also filters carbon dioxide, produces oxygen, and has a high growth rate making it extremely sustainable. Aside from wood and bamboo, all the cotton used for IKEA products comes from sustainable sources. In fact, 60% of the IKEA product range already uses renewable materials.

A collection inspired by the surf lifestyle.

Since 2019, IKEA has partnered with the World Surf League, a leading global sports organization for surfers, to develop a new collection inspired by an active lifestyle that’s close to the ocean and conscious of the planet. The KASEBERGA collection, which will be in IKEA Pasay very soon, offers a range of practical, beautifully-designed products that champion sustainability. It was developed with a focus on including more renewable materials like wood, and materials from recycled sources such as polyester.

Much like how its products are catered for the many people, so is the concept of sustainable living. IKEA makes sustainable living at home easier and more affordable than ever with practical and simple solutions that any Filipino can do.

Another way IKEA commits to sustainability is through its Circular Shop. “No visit to IKEA Philippines would be complete without dropping by the Circular Shop where you’ll find returned items, floor samples, end of the range, and discontinued pieces, all at a fraction of their original price. We’re dedicated to giving every piece we make a long and useful a life as possible, and this is one of the ways we’re making sure we do that,” added Platzer.
