PLDT Enterprise and 6D Technologies Help Businesses Bring IoT Closer to Everyday Operations

PLDT Enterprise and 6D Technologies formalize their partnership to expand scalable IoT connectivity and support enterprise digital transformation across the Philippines. (L–R): Gilbert Gaw, First Vice President and Head of IT and Transformation Office, PLDT and Smart; Nico Alcoseba, First Vice President and Head of Product Management and Innovation, PLDT Enterprise; Manish Arora, Executive Director and Chief Revenue Officer, 6D Technologies; and Abhishek Bhalla, Vice President for APAC, 6D Technologies.

For many businesses, growth depends on being able to see what is happening across their operations in real time — where assets are, how devices are performing, when systems need attention, and how teams can respond faster when conditions change.

This is where connected technology becomes more than just infrastructure. It becomes a way for businesses to make better decisions, reduce delays, improve visibility, and serve customers with greater confidence.

PLDT Enterprise is taking another step toward making this possible for more Philippine businesses through its strategic partnership with 6D Technologies, a global telecommunications software company specializing in BSS/OSS platforms, IoT connectivity management, and digital transformation solutions for mobile network operators. Through the collaboration, PLDT Enterprise is strengthening its IoT capabilities to support more scalable, flexible, and enterprise-ready connectivity services across the country.

At the heart of the partnership is 6D Technologies’ IoT Connectivity Management Platform (CMP), a carrier-grade platform that helps telecom operators create, package, deploy, and manage IoT services at scale. It supports the full IoT lifecycle, including SIM provisioning, device onboarding, real-time usage monitoring, automated billing, and enterprise self-service portals.

Helping businesses see more and respond faster

The partnership is expected to support more IoT use cases across industries such as logistics, manufacturing, utilities, retail, and public services — sectors where reliable information and timely action can directly affect operations. It opens opportunities for use cases such as fleet tracking, smart metering, industrial automation, cold chain monitoring, smart surveillance, and connected car solutions.

For logistics companies, this can mean better visibility over vehicles and deliveries. For utilities, it can help improve monitoring across meters and field assets. For manufacturers, it can support smarter automation and equipment tracking. For retailers and public service organizations, it can help teams make faster decisions based on more accurate, real-time information.

Built on Smart’s 5G-enabled infrastructure, the platform is also positioned to support deployments even in hard-to-reach areas, helping bring connected solutions closer to businesses and communities that need them.

Making IoT easier to start, manage, and scale

For many enterprises, adopting IoT can feel complex. Businesses need to manage devices, connectivity, data usage, security settings, and cost — often across multiple sites and teams.

Through 6D’s platform capabilities, PLDT Enterprise can develop more dynamic bundled offerings, create more accessible starting points for SMEs and mid-market customers, and support customers as their IoT requirements grow over time. The platform’s flexible commercial engine, multi-tenant structure, and automated SIM and device lifecycle management are designed to help PLDT Enterprise respond more quickly to market demand and support enterprise growth with less back-end intervention.

With the new platform, enterprises can access capabilities such as seamless roaming support for connected devices across regions, eSIM enablement for more flexible and remote device provisioning, data pooling across multiple devices to optimize usage and cost efficiency, and enhanced APN management for more secure and customized network configurations.

The platform also introduces AI-powered IoT connectivity management — capabilities that go beyond dashboards to proactively flag anomalies, predict connectivity issues before they affect operations, and automatically optimize device performance and network usage across an enterprise’s entire connected fleet. For businesses managing hundreds or thousands of devices across multiple sites, this translates to fewer manual interventions and more reliable uptime.

Leaders from PLDT Enterprise and 6D Technologies come together to formalize their partnership aimed at strengthening scalable IoT connectivity solutions for Philippine businesses. (L–R): Manoj Jain, Global Head of Marketing, 6D Technologies; Abhishek Bhalla, Vice President for APAC, 6D Technologies; Manish Arora, Executive Director and Chief Revenue Officer, 6D Technologies; Gilbert Gaw, First Vice President and Head of IT and Transformation Office, PLDT and Smart; and Nico Alcoseba, First Vice President and Head of Product Management and Innovation, PLDT Enterprise.

A commitment to smarter, more connected businesses across the Philippines

For PLDT Enterprise, the partnership reflects a broader commitment to helping Philippine businesses move beyond basic connectivity and toward more intelligent, device-level digital operations.

“This partnership with 6D Technologies strengthens our ability to deliver more scalable and flexible IoT services to businesses across the Philippines,” said Nico Alcoseba, First Vice President and Head of Product Management and Innovation at PLDT Enterprise. “By enhancing our IoT platform capabilities, we are better positioned to help enterprises adopt connected technologies faster, support new use cases, and build smarter, more responsive operations.”

“The Philippines represents one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic IoT growth markets, and we see this partnership with PLDT Enterprise as a significant step in realizing that potential,” shared Manish Arora, Executive Director and Chief Revenue Officer of 6D Technologies. “Our platform is built to give operators the speed, visibility, and flexibility to launch and scale IoT services on their own terms — and we look forward to putting that to work for Philippine enterprises.”

By combining PLDT Enterprise’s network strength with 6D Technologies’ platform flexibility and automated lifecycle management, the collaboration aims to help more enterprises deploy connected solutions that are easier to manage, more responsive to operational needs, and built for long-term growth.

PLDT Enterprise, Cisco highlight how smart networks are reshaping real-time operations across industries

Enabling more resilient operations and reduced downtime through industry-leading connectivity

Manufacturing, logistics, and pharmaceutical sectors are under increasing pressure to operate faster, coordinate across multiple sites, and respond to disruptions in real time. However, many still rely on fragmented systems that limit visibility and slow decision-making.

To address these challenges, PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of PLDT Inc. and market leader in enterprise connectivity and ICT solutions in the Philippines, in collaboration with Cisco, is working with organizations to strengthen the network infrastructure that supports daily operations.

“Connectivity today is no longer just about keeping systems online: It’s about enabling businesses to respond in real time, operate securely across multiple environments, and scale without added complexity,” said Jay Lagdameo, PLDT Enterprise Vice President and Head of Domestic Enterprise Business - Regional and Commercial. “By working closely with partners like Cisco, we’re helping organizations build the kind of network foundation that supports how industries are evolving today.”

At a recent industry session with leaders from manufacturing, logistics, and related sectors, discussions led by Cisco and PLDT Enterprise focused on how high-performance and resilient network architectures support cross-site coordination, strengthen system reliability, and enable faster, more informed decision-making.

Enabling industry use cases through integrated solutions

The session featured PLDT Enterprise's range of connectivity and ICT solutions designed to support evolving operational requirements across industries. Built on PLDT’s extensive nationwide fiber infrastructure and backed by resilient wireless networks, these solutions are built to deliver for mission-critical operations.

Among these is its Managed SD-WAN solution, which delivers strong connectivity resiliency for industries with highly distributed operations such as logistics, FMCG, and retail. By combining wired and wireless internet links into a unified network, it ensures continuous connectivity across warehouses, distribution hubs, stores, and remote sites.

Intelligent traffic steering and automatic failover allow seamless switching between fiber, broadband, and 5G connections—keeping operations running even during link disruptions through multi-layered redundancy for business continuity.

With centralized management and real-time visibility, businesses can maintain operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and deliver a consistent customer experience across all locations.

From fragmented systems to real-time operations

Traditional setups often rely on siloed systems, making it difficult for teams to access accurate, up-to-date information across locations. This can result in production delays, inefficient inventory management, and slower response to disruptions across the supply chain. Many organizations also face challenges integrating emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, and cloud-based platforms into existing systems, limiting their ability to fully realize the benefits of digital transformation and maintain operational continuity at scale.

With more advanced network capabilities, businesses can move toward integrated environments where data flows seamlessly across operations. This supports use cases such as real-time tracking of goods, automated workflows in production environments, and more efficient coordination between warehouses, distribution hubs, and frontline teams.

Industry collaboration, integrated digital transformation

The collaboration between PLDT Enterprise and Cisco underscores how modern network infrastructure has evolved from a supporting function into a critical enabler of real-time visibility, operational control, and business continuity. This ultimately helps businesses maintain performance and resilience as they adopt more data-driven and automated processes.

Furthermore, this initiative builds on PLDT Enterprise’s integrated ecosystem - bringing together connectivity, wireless, cloud, data center, platform, and global capabilities that are anchored on PLDT Group’s superior network foundation - to help businesses simplify operations and scale with greater confidence.

Grit, Family, and a Dream: How a Nigerian Techie Built a Startup Making an Impact in the Philippines

PLDT Enterprise’s ROI’d to Success podcast features the inspiring journey of CTO Bimbo Adewoyin of Doublesquare Networks Inc. and how technology helped bridge regional gaps in business and communication

In the newest episode of ROI’d to Success, a podcast by PLDT Enterprise in collaboration with Hustleshare, tech entrepreneur and CTO Bimbo Adewoyin shares how Doublesquare Networks Inc. went from humble beginnings to becoming a trusted provider of wireless equipment, structured cabling, and surveillance system solutions for organizations across the Philippines.

Founded with a mission to deliver technology solutions to local businesses, Doublesquare Networks began as a small operation focused on surveillance systems and network design. Today, it supports enterprise clients, schools, LGUs, and commercial establishments—built on years of deep expertise in infrastructure deployment and project leadership.

But it was Adewoyin’s early interest in tech and foundational mindset that laid the foundation and early stages for the future of the company.

“Back in Nigeria, my mom ran a school, and one day, an American friend of hers donated old computers. At the time, I was more interested in cars, but my older brother began tinkering with the computers, and I got curious. Watching a printer work for the first time felt like magic. My brother later brought me to computer cafes, where he was deeply into programming—and that’s really where my passion for technology began,” shared Adewoyin.

Adewoyin’s journey—from growing up in Nigeria and moving to the Philippines for university, to building his startup with no capital and a baby on the way—is yet another shining example of resourcefulness meeting purpose. Fueled by necessity and passion, he gradually built out a team, invested in in-house tech monitoring systems, and gained the trust of large organizations by solving one infrastructure problem at a time.

“I started by renting a small office in Cubao and incorporating the business right away. At that point, I was on my own and wondering, ‘What’s next?’ What kept me going was my son—he became my biggest motivation. My dad told me to double my hustle because I have a family to provide for, and that really pushed me forward. Soon after, my cousin from Bicol joined me, and we began canvassing for projects. Eventually, I built a team, secured more clients, and started distributing and educating people about Ubiquiti products,” said Adewoyin.

As client demand grew, so did the need for stable, enterprise-grade internet to support operations, training, and 24/7 customer support. The company turned to PLDT Enterprise, which provided iGate and broadband solutions to ensure uninterrupted coordination between field teams and clients.

“Reliable connectivity is the backbone of our operations. With PLDT Enterprise’s connectivity solutions, we’ve enhanced our customer service and boosted sales through seamless, stable communication,” he added.

Before partnering with PLDT Enterprise, the company struggled with frequent communication disruptions and project coordination delays. With PLDT Enterprise’s stable and dedicated internet access in place, Doublesquare saw a measurable 20% improvement in sales and client retention—a direct result of reduced downtime and faster response cycles. But these impressive results don’t mean the hustle will slow down in any way for the future.

“These days, I focus on exploring new technologies and innovations that can help the business grow. I’ve come to trust my team with day-to-day operations—they manage everything from client monitoring to service delivery, especially for our enterprise accounts, which require 24/7 support. We meet regularly to align, but I’ve empowered them to take the lead. It’s a collaborative environment—our brainstorming sessions often lead to great outcomes. With such a capable team in place, I now have the time and headspace to seek out fresh opportunities for growth and improvement,” Adewoyin shared.

As the company looks ahead, Adewoyin continues to invest in expanding their service footprint, nurturing tech talent, and helping bridge the connectivity divide—especially for clients in regional and underserved areas.

“Doublesquare Networks’ story is a powerful example of how technology and entrepreneurship can transform lives and communities. At PLDT Enterprise, we are proud to support visionaries like Bimbo Adewoyin by delivering the reliable and scalable connectivity solutions that help businesses grow, innovate, and bridge the digital divide,” said Jay Lagdameo, Vice President and Head of Enterprise Revenue Group at PLDT Enterprise.
