Personal Collection holds Dealers’ Summit, partners with TESDA to boost Great Life opportunities for Filipinos


Personal Collection (PC), a proudly Filipino-owned direct-selling company, recently hosted its Manila-Vietnam Dealers’ Summit at the Conrad Hotel, gathering over 500 participants. This event underscores the company's commitment to its vision of providing a Great Life to Every Family, particularly its dealers.

The event kicked off with a short, meaningful performance, reinforcing PC’s primary CSR initiative, the #GreenLifeGreatLife Movement. Comprehensive demonstrations of newly launched products were also conducted by the Research and Development and brand team. The event concluded with an awards night, recognizing the top performers of PC’s Prestige Club.

Post-summit, 200 high-achieving dealers were rewarded with a 3-day trip to Vietnam, which offered opportunities to explore local destinations, experience diverse cuisines, and engage in valuable networking.

Through these efforts, PC empowers its dealers with deeper industry knowledge and a better understanding of company values, fostering a collaborative environment for exchanging best practices and forming strategic, meaningful connections.

From humble roots to great life: Personal Collection’s Dealers Achieve Their Dreams Through Direct Selling

Direct sellers of Personal Collection in one of its Thanksgiving Party. Celebrating how their livelihoods as dealers paved the way to giving their own families the life they used to dream of.

There’s a long-standing belief that the only way to be successful is to follow the traditional route of getting a degree and landing a 9-to-5 job. However, this does not hold true for some who do not let their background and circumstances keep them from reaching their goals.

Just like Maricel Villalobos and Erlinda Payoyo, two of Personal Collection’s dealers who rose above society’s expectations. Their inspiring stories are testimonies on how one’s circumstances in life can change through hard work, determination and, of course, with some help and motivation from Personal Collection.

Maricel signed up as a Great Life Builder in 2012, the entry level in Personal Collection’s dealership. Living on a vendor’s daily wage, she was determined to finish her studies and be financially independent despite being deaf and mute.

“Bilang isang PWD, maipagmamalaki ko na hindi ako nanghihingi ng pera para lang mabili ko kung anong gusto ko at pangangailangan ko,” says 49-year-old Maricel, a former vegetables and kakanin vendor who is now among the most accomplished dealers of Personal Collection.

“Hindi naging hadlang sa akin ang aking kapansanan. Malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa Personal Collection dahil naranasan ko grumaduate,” says Maricel.

Through her efforts, Maricel not only graduated, but also attained a higher-level position as a Great Life Manager and was given the recognition of being the Top 1 dealer in South Luzon. Her next goal is to climb the ranks further and reach the highest title in the Personal Collection network – the Great Life Executive, a feat achieved by Erlinda Payoyo.

Before joining Personal Collection in 2016, 50-year-old Erlinda used to get by as a dishwasher offering manicure and pedicure services on the side. For her, making it to the top meant working on her own progress as a dealer while guiding her colleagues at the same time. And sure enough, her exceptional effort in recruiting new dealers to the network and helping them get their own promotions made her dreams come true.

“Na-promote po ako bilang isang Great Life Executive at may natulungan po akong apat na dealers na ma-promote bilang Great Life Executive rin. Nag Top 1 po ako sa Sales and Recruitment.” Erlinda recalls.

Maricel and Erlinda’s stories of hard work and dedication reflect the never-ever-never-ever-give-up guiding principle of Personal Collection dealers toward achieving the Great Life. Their humble beginnings echo Personal Collection’s modest roots when it started in a small warehouse with only one product, eight dealers, and eight employees.

Personal Collection's Recyclable-to-Biodegradable Transition Promotes Sustainable Opportunities in the Philippines

Moving from recyclable to biodegradable packaging, a pioneer among Filipino companies, Personal Collection takes strides to reshape the future through green initiatives

Personal Collection Direct Selling, Inc. (PC) has successfully transitioned from recyclable packaging to the newest biodegradable packaging, making it the first company in the Philippines to do so. PC is leading the drive towards ridding the world of plastics that are harmful to the environment by shifting to biodegradable packaging. Its new biodegradable packaging is estimated to decompose in landfills after only five to ten years, while regular plastic packaging may last for at least a thousand years.

The traditional notion that recycling alone could eliminate plastic waste is being questioned by data from the US Environment Protection Agency (FPA) that Americans, for example, recycle only 35 percent of more than 267 million tons of solid waste every year. According to a 2020 study of the World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines, at the national level, only 40% of packaging waste in the Philippines is collected, and only 9% of the plastic waste is recycled.

Keeping this in mind, PC takes a further step by not just going recyclable but also turning to biodegradable packaging. Through the launch of its “A Green Life is A Great Life” movement last June 2020, PC’s network of sellers has been mobilized to advocate for the advantages of biodegradable packaging as their contribution to helping protect the environment. 

Personal Collection President and CEO Jerome Tuguin said, “We endeavored the shift from recyclable to biodegradable packaging because we believe that this is a sustainable solution that will not only address the major plastic pollution crisis, but will also mitigate many other environmental issues. PC is also one of the few companies around the world that continues to manufacture the greatest number of biodegradable bottles that are viable for preserving the quality of our environment. Just this December 7, 2021, the company received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, for its invaluable work, strategic measures, and active participation to advocate for environmental protection and sustainability amidst the threats of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jerome Tuguin expressed, “We continue to look into more programs and initiatives to support our #GreenLifeGreatLife movement. Last October, we started our coastal cleanups in some parts of the country, and just recently, we planted more than 70,000 mangroves in over 27.5 hectares of reforestation sites in Pampanga and Bataan.”

As part of PC’s primary environmental advocacy, a long-term partnership with Marine Conservation Philippines was made to conduct coastal cleanups in different areas of the country. Last October 26, 2021, PC facilitated its first coastal cleanup at Albiga Beach, Siaton, in Negros Oriental. Subsequently, the Siliman Beach cleanup in Dumaguete on November 16, 2021 took place, followed by the coastal cleanup in Villareal Beach, Bayawan on December 14, 2021. In all these cleanup activities, tons of plastic waste and other toxic materials were collected.
