This March 9-10, 2019, all roads lead to the Filinvest City Open Grounds in Alabang, Muntinlupa City once again as Globe Telecom and Karpos Multimedia bring back the magical experience of the annual music and arts festival, Wanderland. For its seventh installment, the festival is now a 2-day affair, offering the #WanderlandCommunity two straight days to see and experience their most-awaited international and homegrown acts perform their hits.
What sets Wanderland apart from the other music festivals? What makes it more magical? Read on:
1. A great set of music by local and international talent
Do you want to hear your favorite songs on Spotify performed live right in front of you? Rely on Wanderland to give you that experience! This festival always showcases a unique set of performers every year. Wanderland Planet 2016 had local music fans singing along to Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver, and the Naked and Famous. Wanderland Jungle 2017 brought the anthemic music of Australian indie rock band Temper Trap and the electro-pop beats of Ting Tings. Last year’s edition, Wanderland Pixels 2018, featured Kodaline, Jhene Aiko, FKJ, Daniel Caesar, and Lauv.
This year, the Wanderland community can gear up for another great set as both local and international acts make their respective debuts and return to the Wanderland stage. International talents including indie rock bands Two Door Cinema Club and The Kooks, Jamaican-American rapper Masego, British EDM artist SG Lewis, and electronic duo Honne along with homegrown acts such as Sandwich, Unique, Reese Lansangan, and Clara Benin will grace the stage.
2. Awe-inspiring live art installations
Apart from the rich musical experience, expect more inspiration as local street artists unleash their creative talents with their world-class live art installations and graffiti. Last year, Wanderartists Christian Cardenas, Sam Bumanlag, JP Pining, and Humbly brightened up the Filinvest City Open Grounds even more with their on-the-spot artwork. This year, Wanderartist winners Venazir Martinez, Frances Dandan, Raco Ruiz, and Josh Panaligan are set to perform live art that’s sure to mesmerize concertgoers.
3. Eye-catching festival fashion
Wanderland has become not just a showcase of premiere talents but also an annual avenue for eye-catching festival fashion! Expect to see the Wanderland Community from all walks of life express themselves with their own preferred fashion styles, be it floral, hippie, or the hypebeast streetwear style.
4. Wide selection of exciting booths and activities
During Wanderland Planet 2016, Globe provided an all-in-one interactive hub that allowed visitors to experience the fun activities such as shooting photos and videos on a trampoline and learning about mobile games on 7 different "planets". At Wanderland Jungle 2017, festival goers enjoyed getting glitter tattoos of different animals and designs, making their own postcards and stickers, and even wall climbing. In Wanderland Pixels 2018, there was an Art Market, Arcade, F21’s Pixel Playhouse, and Hope’s Up-cycling booth. With this year’s Magic theme, watch out for another interesting set of exciting booths and activities. Make sure to bring some dough and your bags as you’ll surely bring home a lot of goodies!
Music is a foremost Filipino passion and Globe has made headway in giving its customers both online and offline music experiences through Spotify, YouTube, and concerts by the best local and international acts. This March, the Wanderland community is sure to have a unique experience of only the best of music and bring home unforgettable memories with their friends and family.
Seek the magic and make it matter with the #WanderlandCommunity! To make Wanderland a magical experience for everyone, be sure to observe proper festival etiquette. Smoke in designated areas only, throw and segregate your trash properly, don't bring any illegal drugs or pills, and keep track of the performance schedules.
