BLACKPINK's Lisa announces solo comeback with stunning visuals and more

Lisa announces solo Comeback on her official website and captivates global fans on TikTok with 'TEASER' music sticker for comeback spoiler

BLACKPINK's Lisa has announced her solo comeback.

On the afternoon of June 13th, Lisa (Lalisa Manobal) uploaded a content clip through her official global short-form mobile video platform TikTok account.

In the video, Lisa is not only showing off her stunning aura with her OOTD, but also her charming visuals, which quickly caught the attention of global fans. View the teaser here.

Additionally, she left a music sticker with the word 'TEASER' in the content's background music, and announced that the new song can be pre-saved on Spotify and Apple Music with the words 'COMING SOON' on her official website.

In April of this year, Lisa announced a new partnership with RCA Records, a division of Sony Music in the U.S., to expand her global reach. As RCA Records is home to a wide range of global artists, including A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, and Justin Timberlake, the news of Lisa's joining the label raised expectations for her to become a global pop artist with fans around the world.

After a stellar career as a member of BLACKPINK, Lisa established LLOUD Co. and embarked on a full-fledged solo career. With "Lalisa," she not only became the first female artist to sell approximately 750,000 copies in the first week of release, but also became the longest-running K-pop solo artist with "Money," which debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. Singles Chart.

In addition to breaking the Guinness World Records by becoming the first K-pop solo artist to win the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV European Music Awards, Lisa, who has more than 103 million Instagram followers, has also announced her acting career with a recurring role in Season 3 of the HBO original series The White Lotus.

‘BLACKPINK: THE SHOW’ reinvents the concert experience for BLINKs worldwide

While live concerts were put to a stop by the pandemic, that didn’t hinder international K-Pop group BLACKPINK from entertaining BLINKs worldwide! The music powerhouse launched its first-ever livestream concert entitled THE SHOW, on January 31, sponsored by Globe. BLINKs were able to get a reinvented concert experience featuring Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose at their best!

The livestream concert is part of Globe and BLACKPINK’s partnership under the telco’s newest campaign, Reinvent Your World, which empowers its customers to transform themselves in the digital world and open up to new and exciting possibilities, like THE SHOW for example, with Globe as their partner.

Kicking off the show with their 2019 hit Kill This Love, BLACKPINK gave a glimpse of what their world tour could have been if the pandemic was out of the picture. Complete with 10 different sets, spectacular and never-before-seen choreography, flashy costumes, and a full-on live ensemble, every BLINK watching at home surely felt like they were in the same venue as their idols.

BLACKPINK performed their hit songs Whistle, Boombayah, Don’t Know What to Do, As If It’s Your Last, and an electrifying and fiercer rendition of Ddu-Du Ddu-Du as they danced in shallow waters with fire in the background. Of course, THE SHOW was also an opportunity for BLACKPINK to perform some of the tracks on THE ALBUM live including How You Like That, Lovesick Girls, Love to Hate Me, and You Never Know.

Each member gifted BLINKs with a solo performance in between sets. Jisoo sang a stripped-back version of Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” wearing an immaculate floral gown; Lisa showed her rapping and dancing prowess with her own spin on Doja Cat’s “Say So;” Jennie served looks and talent as she performed a revamped version of her song, “Solo;” and Rose rivetingly unveiled her highly anticipated debut solo track “Gone”.

In one of the more tender moments of the show, a throwback clip was shown, presenting BLACKPINK in an empty arena as they looked back at their first concert. “The concert was one of our big dreams. I was highly excited and I had high expectations. I think it was a very precious moment,” said Rose. “It was a tour that clearly showed us the relationship between BLACKPINK and BLINKs.”

The girls also addressed their fans in the video, expressing how much they miss performing in front of them and feeling their love through cheers and waves of lightsticks. “It’s been a while since we’ve met, so I hope we can all have fun [during THE SHOW],” added Lisa.

For their last song, BLACKPINK sang Forever Young as they were surrounded with messages sent by BLINKs from all parts of the world to close THE SHOW on a high, hopeful note. Fans took it to social media to express how they enjoyed the livestream concert with some even holding watch parties with their fellow BLINKs featuring BLACKPINK-themed snacks and decorations. Other BLINKs also wore their merch and took out their lightsticks to really get the feel of the concert experience.

Those with membership access to BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel who want to rewatch the concert will be able to do so over the next Sunday, February 14, at 2 AM, 10 AM, 3 PM and 8PM  (Philippine Time).

This is part of the telco’s partnership with global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK, which launched a new TVC and full-blown digital takeover in December.

No wonder BLINKs and non-BLINKs were abuzz on- and offline.

The Opening Act deployed 100 drones that lit up the sky with the names of BLACKPINK members Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa as well as Globe’s latest campaign Reinvent Your World. This spectacle was shared to  BLINKs all over the country via Twitter, and Globe's official pages.

BLINKS rave on social media as Globe gives away 1000 concert tickets

On Friday night,  Globe gave away 1000 The Show tickets to BLACKPINK fans as a gesture of appreciation to those who waited at least two hours during the kick-off event of Korea's most sought-after girl group concert at the end of this month.

Globe aimed to "reinvent the world" of millions of Filipino BLINKS fans by staging "The Opening Act", an event set to feature a series of skylight displays on January 22 using drones at the Bonifacio Global City.  The event pays homage to the highly popular K-pop group.

Set for live streaming at 7:30 PM, Globe's show contractor started its set up as early as 1:00 PM and GPS signals were strong and optimal  30-minutes before the 7:00 PM countdown.  When the show was about to commence, signals started to suddenly fluctuate. It started with five drones and escalated to 20 drones in just an interval of six minutes.

The drones did not normalize and finally lost GPS and satellite signals one by one. The show team was forced to break the program into sequences and attempted to troubleshoot and regain access to the signals.

But despite repeated and diligent attempts to reboot the drone systems and stabilize drone signal strength, it did not succeed. The team was forced to end the stream at 8:25 PM, leading to the show's cancellation.

The technical report indicated signal jamming as the most likely cause of the drones' inability to take flight.  The jamming targeted the GPS signal of the drones.

BLACKPINK is the official brand ambassador of Globe.

In a statement, Globe said,  "Due to circumstances that are beyond our control, we will need to shift our gears and reschedule The Opening Act to a later date.  To express our appreciation for all of you who stayed with us tonight, we will be giving away 1000 The Show tickets so you can catch the girls live on January 31.”

On social,  Blackpink fans went wild over the free tickets.  One fan said, “I love this partnership between Globe and Blackpink because it clearly shows how Globe loves and adores the pinks and blinks!  We really are the most spoiled fandom here!”

Another fan also expressed "this collaboration of Globe and BLACKPINK makes us feel closer to them! I love seeing them onstage and make us Blinks happy."

BLACKPINK's The Show first ever livestream concert is slated to go on air on January 31, 2021. Please follow Globe’s official page and the Kmmunity PH page on Facebook for more information about the concert and how to get tickets.

They have stolen the hearts of millions of fans from all parts of the globe, and the Philippines is no exception, with Filipino BLINKs always eager for new entertainment from their favourite group. Arguably the most dedicated K-Pop fans out there, Filipino BLINKs are in for a treat as Netflix brings them “BLACKPINK: LIGHT UP THE SKY” premiering on October 14.

Since their debut in August 2016, BLACKPINK has become the highest-charting female K-pop group of all time with their innovative music, eye-popping music videos and internet-breaking fashion concepts. BLACKPINK: LIGHT UP THE SKY serves up the never-before-seen moments that BLACKPINK’s global fandom — known as “BLINKs” — have been craving for years.

As BLACKPINK continues reaching new heights in their career — from headlining sold-out world tours to becoming the first female Korean group to perform at Coachella — each member reflects on the ups and downs of fame and the long, often challenging journey that brought them to worldwide success. BLACKPINK: LIGHT UP THE SKY reveals the relatable, unfiltered sides of the foursome, who continue to be a leading force in expanding K-pop’s popularity, proving that music knows no borders or language barriers.

Directed by Caroline Suh (Netflix’s “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat”), the documentary goes deep with each of BLACKPINK’s four members: Jisoo, the whip-smart unnie (“big sister”) of the group with a quirky sense of humor; Jennie, the rapper whose fierce onstage persona contrasts with her soft-spoken nature; Rosé, the dulcet-voiced Australian coming into her own as a singer-songwriter; and Lisa, the dancing queen whose spark plug personality never fails to make her bandmates laugh.

Stream the world premiere of Netflix’s BLACKPINK: LIGHT UP THE SKY on October 14 best enjoyed through Globe, and relive Blackpink’s incredible journey to becoming arguably South Korea’s most popular girl group.
