TV5 and ABS-CBN boost primetime TV with new shows Dirty Linen and FPJ’s Batang Quiapo


The groundbreaking collaboration between media giants TV5 and ABS-CBN makes 2023 even more jam-packed and action-filled with the domination of primetime TV by star-studded programs like Dirty Linen and the much-awaited return of Coco Martin in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, in commemoration of Fernando Poe Jr.’s 18th Death Anniversary.

Dirty Linen, which premiered on TV5 on January 23, stars Janine Gutierrez and Zanjoe Marudo with an all-star ensemble cast led by John Arcilla, Joel Torre, Janice De Belen, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin, under the direction of Onat Diaz and Andoy Ranay. Also gracing the show is Golden Globe nominee Dolly De Leon and Harlem International Film Festival Winner Ruby Ruiz. Dirty Linen follows the story of the Fiero family whose lives are threatened by those who wish to seek justice as a result of their family’s wrongdoing. This gripping story “stained by lies, washed by truth, and handled with care” is sure to captivate Filipino audiences, leaving them wanting for more.

Moreover, TV5 and ABS-CBN have the biggest offerings in line for the fans of the long running TV series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, as the Primetime King Coco Martin returns with the adaptation of Fernando Poe Jr.’s 1986 action-comedy film, Batang Quiapo. In commemoration of Fernando Poe Jr’s 18th Death Anniversary, Coco teams up with Dreamscape Entertainment and FPJ’s daughter, Lovi Poe, for a promising, action-packed, and timeless small screen adaption of the beloved FPJ film.

Joining the cast of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo are Lito Lapid, Christopher De Leon, Susan Africa, John Estrada, Pen Medina, Cherry Pie Picache, Benzon Dalina, Mark Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin, Ping Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Alan Paule, and Tommy Abuel. The show will be headed and directed by Martin and Malu Sevilla, set to air on TV5 this year.

ABS-CBN partners with Viu to bring Philippine adaptation of "Flower of Evil" across 16 markets

BS-CBN and Viu, PCCW’s leading pan-regional OTT video streaming service,
announced today the expansion of their partnership to adapt the hit South Korean thriller drama "Flower of Evil" in 16 markets across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa. This much-anticipated series is the first Viu Original Adaptation from the Philippines which stars Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual. It will stream simultaneously on Viu 48 hours before its domestic television broadcast.

ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Chief Operating Officer for Broadcast, Cory Vidanes, and Viu Philippines’ Country Manager, Arianne Kader-Cu, shared their excitement for the series, which will be Lovi’s first Kapamilya drama series since joining ABS-CBN, and Piolo’s first drama series after four years.

Arianne said, “Testament to our commitment to bringing the best premium Asian entertainment to Viu-ers, we are happy to work with ABS-CBN once again to bring the Philippine adaptation of 'Flower of Evil' to all of Viu’s 16 markets. "Flower of Evil" is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere soon. It follows the thrilling story of a man who successfully changes his identity in order to hide his scandalous past. He then marries a police detective, who will later on be tasked with investigating an unsolved serial murder case that will lead her back to him.

The show also stars Agot Isidro, Edu Manzano, Denise Laurel, Joross Gamboa, Joem Bascon, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Joko Diaz, and JC de Vera.

ABS-CBN and Viu’s collaboration strengthens their vision and commitment to bringing premium Asian entertainment to more viewers worldwide. The partnership kicked off early this year, with the streaming of ABS-CBN’s hit drama series "The Broken Marriage Vow" on Viu.

ABS-CBN acquires rights to produce local adaptation of South Korea's "Flower of Evil", stars with Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe

Ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual and new Kapamilya star Lovi Poe will play husband and wife in the local adaptation of the hit Korean thriller romance drama series.

ABS-CBN Entertainment will produce the local adaptation of South Korean thriller drama "Flower of Evil” after acquiring the rights from content production companies CJ ENM Co., Ltd. and Studio Dragon Corporation to adapt the hit series for Filipino viewers.

The Philippine version will feature multi-awarded actors Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe in the lead roles as husband and wife, who were originally played by Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won.

An irresistible mix of drama, romance, thrill, and action, “Flower of Evil” follows a man who changes his identity in order to hide his dark past, successfully maintaining his disguise by building a happy family with his police detective wife. But when she starts investigating an unsolved serial murder case that might be tied to him, she must deal with the reality that her perfect husband might not be who she thinks he is.

“Flower of Evil” enjoyed high ratings in South Korea when it premiered on tvN, CJ ENM's leading total entertainment channel, in 2020. The series continued to gain popularity in other countries for its nail-biting plot twists and remarkable performances after becoming available internationally through various streaming platforms.

The local adaptation of “Flower of Evil” will be Lovi’s first Kapamilya teleserye after signing with ABS-CBN this week, and Piolo’s first after 2018’s “Since I Found You.”

Watch out for Piolo and Lovi in the Philippine adaptation of “Flower of Evil,” which will be produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, soon on ABS-CBN platforms.

Now a Kapamilya! Lovi Poe finds new home in ABS-CBN


ABS-CBN has revealed its new precious jewel, the multi-talented artist and showbiz royalty Lovi Poe.

The entertainment industry's precious jewel is finally home.

Showbiz royalty and multi-talented artist Lovi Poe is now officially a Kapamilya following her contract signing ceremony with ABS-CBN executives on Thursday (September 16).


The actress marked her first day as a Kapamilya by setting foot in the ABS-CBN compound, where she had a red carpet welcome led by ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes, group CFO Rick Tan, and Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal. Lovi’s talent manager Leo Dominguez also joined the contract signing ceremony.

Soon, Lovi is set to do her first Kapamilya drama series with ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual. It is Lovi’s second ABS-CBN project overall after she starred in the 2020 iWantTFC original movie “Malaya,” for which she clinched a Gawad Urian Best Actress nomination.

A rare and precious gem in showbiz, Lovi’s timeless charm and versatility as an artist have enabled her to take on diverse projects, from acting in film and TV to being a successful recording artist and style icon. ABS-CBN provides a perfect fit for Lovi’s talents, with many opportunities for her to shine on its multiple media platforms and ecosystems.

She has won several awards throughout her career, including Best Actress trophies from FAMAS Awards and the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
