International powerhouse vocalist Jessica Sanchez joins forces with Asia’s Phoenix Morissette for “Stronger Than Before,” an anthemic new single that celebrates resilience, faith, and personal growth. Written by Jessica Sanchez and Rodney Jason, and distributed by Universal Records, the track is now available on all major streaming platforms. Released during the month that celebrates Mother’s Day, the song carries an added layer of meaning for listeners, especially mothers whose strength and sacrifices echo its message.

“Stronger Than Before” traces a journey of overcoming doubt and emerging renewed. Jessica—who tried her luck in various competitions before ultimately winning America’s Got Talent in 2025—draws from both her personal and professional experiences to shape the song’s emotional core.

“‘Stronger Than Before’ is such a special song to me because it really reflects so much of my personal journey—both in my career and in my life,” Jessica shares. “This song is about resilience, growth, and finding strength through those difficult moments. I wanted it to be an anthem for anyone who has ever felt knocked down but chose to rise again.”

The collaboration marks a long-awaited moment for fans, bringing together two of the most celebrated vocalists of their generation. The track was recorded in Texas, with Morissette flying in from the Philippines to join Jessica in her home studio—an experience that added an intimate and personal touch to the recording process.

Jessica speaks warmly of the collaboration: “I’ve admired Morissette for so long—not just because of her powerhouse vocals, but because of the passion, emotion, and strength she brings to everything she does. Collaborating with her has been a dream, and I’m so grateful we got to create this together.”

She adds, “One of my favorite parts was hearing how beautifully our voices blended. It felt so natural and powerful. There were definitely moments in the studio where we both just looked at each other like, ‘Wow, this is something really special.’”

Fans will soon get to experience the song live as Jessica holds a concert at the Araneta Coliseum on May 16, 2026. Morissette joins the show as a special guest, alongside Darren Espanto, James Reid, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, and Regine Velasquez. A highlight of the night will be the live performance of “Stronger Than Before,” with Jessica and Morissette sharing the stage for the moment fans have been waiting for.

The Ridleys are officially joining Morissette’s 15th anniversary concert, Ember, as the opening act—bringing their heartfelt storytelling to the Smart Araneta Coliseum stage on October 28, 2025.

Known for their intimate and emotionally stirring performances, The Ridleys have built a loyal following in the local music scene, and their addition to the lineup makes Ember even more of a must-see event. Their presence offers fans of both The Ridleys and Morissette a rare opportunity to celebrate two generations of Filipino artistry on one historic night.

In response to overwhelming demand, organizers have also opened Patron A, offering premium reserved seating with risers near the stage. While this section was not part of the initial seat map, its release follows venue clearances and strong calls from fans to make more seats available. Organizers emphasize that this move was made “by popular demand,” ensuring more supporters can be part of the milestone concert.

Beyond expanded seating and an exciting opening act, Ember carries a deeper significance. In her recent interviews, Morissette has hinted that she carefully curated a full-circle setlist that spans her 15-year career—songs that may be performed together in one show for the first, and potentially, the last time in a major show, making Ember a legacy-defining moment.

More than a travel destination, the Philippines is home to many beautiful things worth discovering. Food, festivals, traditions, and the people all add to the connections that are developed and strengthened when travelers explore and experience what makes the Philippines beautiful and unique.

Having traveled around the globe for her career as a singer, Morissette is proud to have the opportunity to share with the world what makes the Philippines more than just a fun destination but a place anyone can easily feel at home and experience love through many forms. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Cebu, Morrissette carries the warmth and spirit of her hometown wherever she goes. "My family and I were based in Cebu City Proper. I love how it's a perfect mix of the province and city vibe." she shares, her eyes sparkling with affection for her hometown.

Where Her Love Began: A Cebuana at Heart

Born and raised in Cebu City, Morissette holds a deep affection for her hometown. “One of the things I've always loved about Cebu but only got to fully experience now as an adult, is that there are so many different things and activities to do there,” she shares. Having experienced her childhood in such a beautiful city, it’s no wonder that this experience has shaped her love for the Philippines.

A Love for Filipino Flavors

Morissette's love for the Philippines is deeply intertwined with her love for the local food. "One of my favorite Filipino dishes is anything barbecued," she shared, saying her favorite Cebu barbecue spot is Larsian, a big barbecue hub. She fondly recalls pairing every dish with puso rice, a staple in her hometown. Of course, no Filipino food experience is complete without something sweet, and for Morissette, nothing beats having a halo-halo, a popular local iced dessert. “Perfect [treat] to combat the Philippine heat, especially during the summertime.”

Onwards Across the Islands

The Love the Philippines music video beautifully captures the country’s abundance of places worth exploring, showcasing the treasure trove of experiences that travelers can expect, not just beaches, which the Philippines is well known for.

Together with her husband, Morissette enjoys exploring the Philippines’ 7641 islands, embarking on various trips, like hikes with their two beloved dogs. "We’ve been to Baguio and Tagaytay, and have also taken them on beach trips to Batangas and La Union." she said with a smile. “By car, we've been loving Tagaytay because of how close it is to Metro Manila and you get to enjoy a colder weather and all the woodsy feels. On a plane, we've been loving Bohol. We get to relax there, and I've also seen some of the best sunsets in the Panglao area,” she added.

She also finds herself frequently visiting Cebu and Quezon province the most, being her and her husband’s hometowns. “We get to see family when we visit and just [feel] right at home.” But it doesn’t stop there. Her travel bucket list is still brimming with destinations waiting to be explored, “I’d love to visit Bataan, Camiguin, and Palawan,” she excitedly shared. She’s also eager to go on a full tour of Intramuros, explore Palawan’s geological sites, and taste the famous mangoes of Guimaras.

A Song as Beautiful as the Philippines

As the voice behind the DOT’s Love the Philippines song is an honor that Morissette cherishes deeply. “I am thrilled to be the voice of the latest tourism campaign of the Philippines. I hope it reminds a lot of our kababayans of how there's also so much to love, explore, and experience [in] our country, and that we've always been rich in culture, especially in music,” she enthused. Through her voice, she hopes to inspire Filipinos to embrace their homeland, see it with fresh eyes, and fall in love with what the Philippines has to offer.

Reflecting on her collaboration with the Department of Tourism, she describes the experience as a dream come true. “I'm so grateful to be given the trust and opportunity, this has always been a dream of mine to represent my country this way. And even in my own ways as I continue to travel around the world also, I will continue to try to be the best representation of the Philippines, especially in my music and craft.” This commitment shows her passion in showcasing not just Filipino talent but also the Philippines to the world.

“I will always be proud of the Filipino hospitality and congeniality, whether here in our country or abroad. There's so many of our kababayans all over the world and I've heard time and time again from other nationalities of how Filipinos are always some of the most friendly and hardworking people. On the other hand, I will always vouch for our music scene here, both with Original Pilipino Music and local concerts. And of course, we have a lot of beautiful islands, an interesting history and a vast mix of cultures.” Having heard countless stories of Filipinos known for their kindness and hard work across the globe, she strives to carry that same positive spirit wherever she goes. It's Halloween with “no tricks, just treats” as the stars of TV5’s popular programs make this weekend a ‘Hallo-WIN’ to remember at the Cignal Entertainment Showbiz Caravan happening this Saturday, October 29, at Starmall EDSA Shaw.

For the first time ever, the stars of Cignal Entertainment’s offerings on TV5 – Sing Galing, Suntok Sa Buwan, Sing Galing Kids, Oh My Korona, and Kalye Kweens – will gather on one stage to present entertaining performances and amazing surprises for the crowd in this much-awaited event.

Sony Music Philippines Launches New Christian label ‘WATERWALK RECORDS’

Sony Music Philippines today announced the launch of WATERWALK RECORDS, a music label focused on bringing fresh Christian music to a new, streaming generation. The label will feature faith-based entertainment artists from across the length and breadth of the country, who represent the best of Christian music combined with their own unique styles.

“In the Philippines, Christian music emerges from daily life and is a reflection of the country’s rich culture,” said Roslyn Pineda, General Manager, Sony Music Philippines. “Pop music inspired by Christian melodies has arguably created some of the most interesting music in recent years. It’s a diverse genre full of talented artists who use faith as a regular way of connecting with people. WATERWALK RECORDS has huge opportunities to grow as we work with talented artists such as Morissette, Gloryfall and Hazel Faith and others to bring their music to fans all across Asia”.

The artist, Morissette, popularly referred to as "Asia's Phoenix", will release the label’s first single, “Waterwalk” on 28 October. “Mapayapa” — a collaboration between Christian worship band Gloryfall and singer/songwriter Hazel Faith- will be released on 30 October.

“I am thrilled to be taking part in Sony Music‘s new Christian label and get to share, and sing, of the word of God and all His great works,“ added Morissette. “ It's only been a couple of years since I've made the decision to really follow Jesus and one thing I can really attest to is that we just need to trust Him in everything. I've been through some very challenging times too especially during this season, but it's His grace that saves me and keeps me going, His love that comforts and protects me, and His promise that I will always keep in my heart. The track "Waterwalk" portrays all of that, and a reminder that what He has done for His people then, He will also do for His people now, we need only to anchor on to Him.”

Rapper/actor Jericho Arceo and Stell of SB19, will also release a joint single. Arceo is well known for creating viral videos on social media and being a member of the cast for the show The World Between Us, while Stell who is a part of SB19, one of the most popular P-pop groups in the Philippines, is embarking on his first solo venture through this collaboration.

In another first, Nathan Huang from the band ‘of Mercury’ (formerly known as Nathan & Mercury) will also have his first solo venture through the label and will collaborate with Darla Baltazar, who was recently featured as one of the 16 Artists to Watch on the international website The Gospel Coalition.

Janine Danielle, a worship leader from Favor Church, will be singing a track penned and produced by one of Spotify’s most followed Filipino artists Moira Dela Torre, and Moira’s frequent collaborator and husband, Jason Hernandez. The lineup also includes singles from beloved worship leaders from various churches in the Philippines: Lee Simon Brown (from Victory Worship), Cola Cabalcar, Kent Charcos, Cherise Katriel, and Sam&Steff.

To showcase the richness of the region, WATERWALK RECORDS will also release a single from Ariel Tsai, a popular Taiwanese singer/songwriter, pianist, and YouTuber signed under Sony Music Taiwan.

The 12 tracks from WATERWALK RECORDS are expected to be released within this year.
