Amihan: Indayog at Lahi brings to life the beliefs of several Filipino ethnic groups that the ancient world was divided into layers. The show aims to reintroduce Filipino folklore through modern dance, and will feature pole fitness, aerial hoop, and aerial silks.
A fundraising pole dance and aerial arts show performed by Polecats Manila titled Amihan: Indayog at Lahi, as Eskritoryo Pilipinas and Polecats Manila will be producing a fundraising show on November 3, 2013 at the Meralco Theatre.
Half of the proceeds from the show will benefit Eskritoryo Pilipinas’ reading and writing program, which introduces Filipino mythology to grade school students. Eskritoryo Pilipinas is currently working with Virlanie Foundation and Mary Immaculate Parish Special School, and hopes to bring the program to new partner schools. The show will be held at the Meralco Theater on November 3, 2013.
Eskritoryo Pilipinas is an organization dedicated to promoting learning and environmental sustainability. We believe that a healthy imagination, especially one that can draw references and values from Philippine literature, mythology, and the arts, can only strengthen a child’s desire to achieve more. We hope that we can help mold kids to approach life with a literary frame of mind and consequently teach them to appreciate our cultural heritage further.
Polecats Manila was formed in 2009, today it is now considered to be the premier pole dancing school in the country. Located at the heart of Ortigas, their studio boasts of professional grade equipment of the highest standards for safety and quality.
We believe that every trick, climb and spin can become strength, grace and art. As a performance group, Polecats deliver fluidity in motion, with performances that fuse ballet, jazz and gymnastics. Every performance is a reminder that the extraordinary is our specialty.
