Teleperformance advocates children’s rights, supports anti-child labor program in partnership with Philippine Labor Department

As part of its firm commitment in upholding Human Rights across the communities where it operates, Teleperformance (TP), global leader in digital business services, partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to support over 50 families in northern Mindanao, Philippines as part of Project Angel Tree.

Teleperformance in the Philippines, in support of Project Angel Tree, contributed essential items to children and their families in Barangay Mambuaya, Cagayan de Oro City.

Project Angel Tree, an initiative dedicated to preventing and eliminating child labor, provides critical aid to families in Barangay Mambuaya, Cagayan de Oro City. TP contributed essential items, such as school supplies, hygiene kits, and food.

The recent community event also held discussions to raise awareness on the basic rights of children and the protection of minors from exploitative labor.

Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly continues to support the program’s goal to end child labor, stating, “We at Teleperformance recognize our role in combatting exploitation wherever it may be. Child labor is a persistent and devastating problem in society, and we each have a role to play in ending it. Teleperformance in the Philippines is proud to support programs that align with our values. We are honored to be part of Project Angel Tree.”

“Helping our communities goes a long way, even in our smallest gestures,” added Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson. “Efforts such as Project Angel Tree highlight the impact of these efforts on the lives of the future generation. We are thankful to DOLE for the opportunity to help the children, both in the long- and short-term.”

The event culminated with the awarding of a Certificate of Appreciation from DOLE Region X (Cagayan de Oro Field Office) to Teleperformance Philippines, recognizing the company’s contributions to supporting children and families in Barangay Mambuaya.

The initiative is part of Teleperformance Philippines’ broader commitment to corporate social responsibility through the Citizen of the World (COTW), its corporate social responsibility arm. Earlier this year, COTW Philippines supported Kythe Foundation’s Summer Nature Camp 2024 for children with chronic illnesses.

Teleperformance Philippines is certified Great Place to Work® for record-breaking seventh consecutive year

For the 7th year running, Teleperformance in the Philippines has earned the prestigious Great Place to Work® certification. The 2024 independent survey saw over 40,000 employee responses from Teleperformance’s 27 locations in the country.

In the large category (companies with over 1,000 employees), Teleperformance Philippines secured an impressive fifth-place ranking—a feat that further cemented its status as a top employer.

“Being named a Great Place to Work® for the 7th year in a row is a huge achievement and a testament to the dedication of our customer experts and team members. I am particularly proud of TP’s Impact Sourcing initiatives for this year, which focuses on training and employing individuals who may otherwise be overlooked by traditional employers. We’re excited to continue building an even better workplace culture powered by human empathy and enhanced by cutting-edge technology,” said Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly.
Teleperformance in the Philippines’ 7th Great Place to Work badge and certificate

According to the survey results, an impressive 88% of employees affirmed that TP is a “physically safe place to work.” Another 86% agree that they are treated fairly regardless of sexual orientation and are given the resources and equipment to do their jobs.

The 2024 survey results further emphasize Teleperformance's strengths in key areas such as credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. Nearly 80% of Teleperformance Philippines’ employees affirm that the company is a great place to work, significantly outperforming the national average of 65% for other companies in the country.

The organization first achieved the Great Place To Work® certification in 2018. This year marks a milestone for Teleperformance as the first and longest GPTW®-certified company in the Philippines.

Lola Amour goes to TP

As part of Magnificent 7, TP’s celebration of its 7th GPTW recertification, employees were treated to an exciting event featuring a live performance by the renowned Filipino rock band, Lola Amour.
Lola Amour performs to a crowd of 1,500 at the Magnificent 7 celebration in Teleperformance Ayala last September.

With the back-to-back celebration of TP in September and October, the band energized the Teleperformance Ayala and Teleperformance Clark crowd with their hit singles, “Pwede Ba,” “Fallen,” and “Raining in Manila.” Sixty lucky employees were also selected for an exclusive meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Lola Amour.
Lola Amour jams with the Teleperformance employees for their hour-long set at the Magnificent 7 celebration in TP Clark.

In addition to Lola Amour's performance, TP employees took center stage at the Magnificent 7 celebrations. At TP Ayala, TP’s very own dance crew energized the crowd, while solo acts Aimengard Akira Nacor and Mc James Serdan captivated the audience with their renditions of OPM hit songs.
The TP Ayala Dance Crew captivated the audience with their high-powered performance.

The TP Clark Dance Crew delivered a special performance at the Magnificent 7 celebration last October.

The excitement continued in Pampanga with the TP Clark Dance Crew, followed by impressive performances from TP Trainer Ronaliza Garcia, and Quality Coach Sittie Raifa Pangadapun. An acoustic medley was also prepared by Operations Manager Danielle Miko Del Mundo and TP Clark Site Director Justine Kenneth Abellera.

TP’s employee-focused programs

As Teleperformance Philippines continues to grow, it remains dedicated to fostering a supportive work environment for all its employees. Through TP Pride and TP Women’s programs, the organization launched several employee-focused initiatives. One of which include an all-year round Virtual Kwentuhan sessions focused on gender equality and empowerment in the workplace.

Roy Roger Castro Jr., from Program Employee Engagement, highlighted the impact of leadership at TP: “We feel welcomed, and our emotions are validated. When we give feedback, they really listen. I see this firsthand, and whenever our customer experts have concerns, leadership is there to hear them out."

Doubling down to its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), TP’s Project Echo program also provided valuable hands-on experience to the students of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies.

Levi Bautista, a Quality Specialist, also expressed his appreciation for the company’s focus on employee development through continuous learning. He shared, "One of the things I love about TP is the wide range of upskilling courses they offer. There are plenty of programs I can take, usually around communication, people management, and coaching. They even offer online training, which makes it really convenient."

Beyond the GPTW certification, Teleperformance Philippines has received several accolades in 2024. The company was recently honored by the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) for its successful completion of the Gender Equality Assessment, Results, and Strategies (GEARS) tool. Teleperformance also participated in ASEAN-wide gender equality case studies and was recognized for its outstanding contributions to DE&I.

“This recognition from Great Place to Work® is truly a proud moment for us. Teleperformance Philippines’ continued success reflects the highest standards of workplace inclusion that we uphold. Our commitment is to be constantly working each year to build on our employee’s experiences and continue to create a workplace that everyone is proud of” said Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson.

Teleperformance named as one of the Best Workplaces in Asia

Teleperformance (TP), a multi-awarded and leading digital business services company, has been named as one of the Best Workplaces in Asia™ in 2023 by the Great Place to Work®(GPTW) institute.

The company ranked 11th among 30 multinational enterprises spanning various industries. Teleperformance also stood as the second-best performer in the professional services category and earned a place among the “elite group of progressive employers in Asia” in the GPTW®-curated list.

The GPTW® researchers assessed Teleperformance by surveying over 90,000 employees across Asia. These employees were asked to evaluate key factors that make a company a great workplace for all, including workplace safety, gender fairness, diversity, and inclusivity.

The results showed that 91% of employees believe Teleperformance is a physically safe place to work. In addition, 87% of employees agreed that Teleperformance fosters a gender-fair environment, while 86% recognized the organization’s efforts to ensure inclusivity within the workplace.

Furthermore, Teleperformance in the Philippines has played a significant role in its inclusion in the Best Workplaces in Asia List. In 2018, Teleperformance became the first company and member of the IT-BPM sector in the Philippines to be certified Great Place to Work®. The award-giving body revealed that TP has gained above-minimum scores from different gender and identity groups across its departments.

Before receiving the premier Hall of Fame award, Teleperformance was conferred by the IICTAP as the “BPO Employer of the Year” in 2011. Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson also shared his insight regarding the company’s most recent win, expressing gratitude to the Teleperformance Philippines family, and emphasizing the new challenge for the company to accomplish greater things in the industry.

“This victory wouldn’t be possible without the collective efforts of our people across all our sites in the country. With the company’s drive to expand in more cities and key areas supported by a stellar year-on-year growth, we are confident that we will continue to meet—and exceed—our exemplary record and achieve more in the coming years, Jeffrey stated.”

This year, Teleperformance celebrates its 26th year in the Philippines. The company stands proudly as one of the country’s top employers, providing rewarding, meaningful career opportunities for more than 50,000 Filipinos across 23 business sites in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

“I am really, really proud of TP Pride because this program continues to get better and it continues to see more participation. I look forward to where the future will take us,” he added.

Several of the company’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives like TP Pride, a platform for gender awareness and gender sensitivity, are powered by grassroots advocates from different levels of the organization who regularly gather for learning, support, and community activities such as the annual Pride March across the country.

Aside from the annual Pride March, TP’s support has materialized with the creation of a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) policy that caters to the particular medical needs of all employees, regardless of gender; and the commitment to advocacies, such as, but not limited to, the development of a comprehensive and industry-recognized HIV awareness program.

“Teleperformance is always fortunate to give back to the communities through our CSR program, especially to support vulnerable children and their families,” said Clémentine Gauthier-Medina, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, Teleperformance Group. “We are ready to help and happy to contribute to building a future where they can thrive and reach their full potential, independently of challenging initial life conditions. Teleperformance Philippines commits to strengthen gender and disability inclusivity in the workplace

Teleperformance (TP) Philippines,
a leading global group in digitally integrated business services, raised awareness among their employees on the struggles that persons with disabilities (PWDs) encounter in the workplace and how to create an inclusive workplace for all.

In an internal forum titled “Interweaving Inclusion in our TP DNA,” which was organized by TP Women, Teleperformance’s gender inclusivity arm that aims to promote gender and disability inclusivity, TP featured key resource persons and Teleperformance Philippines employees as speakers on PWD inclusivity in the workplace, especially women with disabilities.

“No DE&I journey ever stops. It’s a constant process of having conversations, of learning, of growing, and of building a culture in the organization,” said Jeffrey Johnson, Senior Vice President of Human Capital Resource Management, in his opening remarks. “We do this not because we’re supposed to, but because it’s the right thing to do.”

During the forum, TP Philippines employees with disabilities recounted their experiences, observations, and recommendations in a roundtable discussion on being a person with disabilities in daily life and in the workplace.

Participating in the discussion was Marilyn Ventenilla, TP Women Chair and Senior Director of Communication and Marketing, who identifies herself as a PWD. “What we’re doing now is a significant first step,” said Ventenilla. “Learning, experiencing, and observing what persons with disabilities are going through are essential for us to empathize with them and understand their expectations.”

Meanwhile, among the guest speakers were Ryan Gersava, Founder and CEO of Virtualahan, Inc., and Jennifer Anne Mendoza, Membership and Client Care Specialist of the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE).

Jennifer Anne Mendoza of the PBCWE did a talk on disability inclusive leadership, addressing the need for inclusivity in the workplace and the added challenges of women employees with disabilities. “A workplace diversity and inclusion initiative that overlooks the issue of disability fails to address the needs of a large segment of the population,” said Mendoza.

Meanwhile, Ryan Gersava of Virtualahan, Inc., an online vocational school providing inclusive training and empowering companies to become inclusive employers, spoke about the importance of disclosure and the challenges of non-apparent disabilities and promoting disability-inclusive employment. “Disclosure is the key to solving the systemic and intergenerational problem,” said Gersava. “It is very personal and it is very difficult, and it requires a very strong support system: a strong support system that you and I can build together.”

The forum event closed with attending leaders making a digital pledge to actively promote and foster gender and disability inclusivity in the workplace. Leaders came up with personal ways on how they plan on doing so and shared them on the call. Among them was Teleperformance Philippines Chief Executive Officer Francisco Lara Padilla.

“It’s not enough to just talk about it. We’ve got to do something, we’ve got to prioritize it – especially if we want to achieve real changes,” said Lara in his closing remarks. “We may not have the answers 100% – but we will get there. We all have to start somewhere.”

Teleperformance Philippines also recently received their 5th consecutive Great Place to Work® Certification. The Great Place to Work® certification is awarded to companies based on its level of credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie as surveyed by employees. TP Philippines was the first company to be certified in any industry and is the largest employer in the county to be certified this year.

Teleperformance Philippines wins multiple recognition at the 19th Quill awards

Teleperformance (TP) Philippines
recently won four awards for its pandemic and nation building efforts at the recent 19th Philippine Quill Awards organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines.

Among the awards Teleperformance received are recognition for four of its efforts – COVID-19 communication portal, 1Question Job Interview Bot, English Communication Webinar Series, and the Teleperformance Molino Recruitment Center Virtual Groundbreaking Event.

Teleperformance received an Award of Merit for the COVID-19 Employee Communication Microsite, a bespoke communications hub launched in the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines. The program resulted in a high rate of employee compliance to TP’s Health & Safety protocols onsite resulting in zero to minimally remote cases of infections onsite. They were also able to continue operations of all their 22 sites despite various degrees of lockdown and Community Quarantine classifications, most of which have been given the Safety Seal certification by local government and health agencies.

Meanwhile, TP also received an Award of Merit for the 1Q TPbot, also known as TP-in-3. Teleperformance Philippines receives ISO 45001: 2018 certification for excellent occupational health and safety programs

In line with their commitment to creating a safe workplace for all, Teleperformance (TP) Philippines, the global leader in outsourced omnichannel customer experience management, has been awarded the ISO 45001: 2018 certification.

Teleperformance Philippines gets ISO 45001: 2018 certification. Present during the ceremonies were (L-R) Rachel Cacabelos, TP Philippines VP for Human Resources and Communications & Marketing, SGS Sales Head Rose Mangubat, SGS Account Manager Nina Alejandro, TP Philippines Chief Operations Officer Joey Marquez, TP Philippines SVP for Human Capital Resource Management Jeffrey Johnson, and TP Philippines VP for Facilites & Administration Ed Punzalan

ISO 45001 or the Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification is the world’s first International Standard for occupational health and safety (OHS). It promotes a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework that allows organizations to identify and reduce their OHS risks, reduce potential for workplace accidents and illnesses and improve legislative compliance.

TP Philippines worked together with Standard Global Services (SGS), testing, inspection and certification company, who helped audit the company. To achieve the certification, TP Philippines underwent intensive training and design, and put in place several health and safety precautions in their business sites such as training of personnel, including doctors, nurses, safety officers, and first aiders; auditing of welfare facilities such as clinic, gym, washing, and sleeping areas; and an emergency management plan development which includes an emergency response team, site emergency response kit and first aid station. Moreover, TP Philippines initiated Policies and Program for the prevention and control of HIV-AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Hepatitis B in the workplace.

SGS Philippines Account Manager Nina Alejandro shared, “We are proud of Teleperformance Philippines management team’s commitment and participation to the organization’s processes which clearly manifested assurance in safety and customer satisfaction. Noteworthy was the optimism and enthusiasm of the team members to work together then with the audit team throughout the entire certification journey.”

TP Philippines Chief Operations Officer Joey Marquez also talked about the significance of the certification. “The health and safety of our people has always been on top of our priorities. Achieving this certification means that we are indeed a great workplace. This does not only help our workforce and our company, but we are also able to contribute to our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” said Marquez.

The certification addresses four of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, namely, good health and wellbeing, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, and sustainable cities and communities.

TP Philippines has so far successfully implemented 92% of COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols, whose performance was successfully audited by the OSH committee, including strict implementation of physical distancing, monitoring of body temperature upon entry, deployment of disinfection station, strict implementation of wearing of facemask within facilities, and requiring fit-to- work certificate for back to work employees, among others.

“Our commitment to occupational health and safety does not end with this certification. As we continue to navigate the new work environment, we are confident that Teleperformance Philippines is ready and equipped for bringing great interactions to our clients and to their customers, whether onsite or at home,” continued Marquez.

Last year, TP Philippines also launched TPVac, their own nationwide vaccination program, which was able to vaccinate nearly all of its onsite team members in 2021. TP also upholds the strictest safety standards in their business locations to protect their employees working onsite, with their Bacolod site being awarded a Certificate of Safety Seal for its compliance to health and safety protocols against COVID-19.

In 2021, TP Philippines was also certified Great Place to Work® for the fourth consecutive year and recently became part of the Philippines Best Workplaces™ list. These achievements were determined through creating globally exceptional employee experiences, high-trust relationships, and workplaces that are fair and equal for all through initiatives such as TP Women and TP Pride, as well as partnerships with organizations to bring employment to marginalized communities such as persons with disabilities (PWD) and indigenous people.
