Emirates daily, non-stop flights to Clark International Airport

Visitors travelling to Clark will discover a blend of growing industry, natural beauty and local history.
Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, announced last Monday that from October 1, 2013, it will begin daily, non-stop flights to Clark International Airport, the airline’s second destination in the Philippines.

Emirates has been operating flights to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, since 1990 and, due to the demand, has continued to increase its flight frequency on the route to its current triple daily, non-stop service.
Clark International Airport is located in the province of Pampanga in Central Luzon, which is 80 kilometers to the north of Manila. Its strategic location means it has a catchment area of 17 million people.

“There has always been a growing demand for Emirates’ services since we connected Manila with Dubai and our constantly expanding network on six continents. The launch of flights between Clark International Airport and Dubai will offer our passengers the flexibility of choosing from two destinations in the Philippines, said Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline.

“I would like to extend Emirates’ thanks to the Government of the Philippines and the Civil Aviation and Clark Authority that have made the start of this service possible, we look forward to building on our relationship with the country and the enhancement of key tourism and trade links between the Philippines and the UAE, and beyond to our global network,” added Clark.

Operated by a two-class Boeing 777-300ER, EK338 will depart Dubai at 0400hrs and arrive at Clark International Airport at 1640hrs. The return flight, EK339 will depart at 1835hrs and arrive at Dubai International Airport at 2305hrs.

With the new daily flight to Clark International Airport, Emirates SkyCargo will be able to provide more than 160 tonnes of additional cargo hold capacity each way per week, further supporting Philippines exports of perishables, such as dairy products, fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood and electrical and electronic equipment, and its imports of textiles, apparel, plants, flowers and chemical products.

A government study estimated that there are 10 million Filipinos living outside the Philippines – about 10 per cent of the countrys home population. The largest number of overseas Filipinos reside mainly in the United States. The region with the largest temporary overseas Filipino population is the Middle East with approximately 2.9 million Filipinos, with 680,000 living in the UAE.

For his part, Mr. Anand Lakshminarayanan, Divisional Vice President for Route Planning & Economics, expressed his thanks to the Department of Tourism – Region III led by Regional Director Ronaldo Tiotuico for providing the airlines substantial guidance and feedback on the market potential of the said route while they were conducting research last year. He likewise thanked CEO Chichos Luciano of Clark International Airport Corp. for his influence and support in the decision-making process.

Nurturing a Child’s Talent to Excellence

"With its proven heritage of nurturing a child's gift, Promil Pre-School’s “Nutrissentials” help nourish your child’s crucial years of talent development."

Among the many delights of a parent is discovering and nurturing the inherent talents of their children. Simply having talent however, will not automatically translate to success; It has to be developed—something the parents of Promil Pre-School’s Top i-Shiners know about.

Singing Towards Success

For Nathan John Bautista, who became the Top i-Shiner for singing at Promil pre-School’s recently concluded i-Shine Talent Camp 2, standing out was a matter of having the confidence to share his natural talents.

“As a mother to Nathan, my vital role is to be a supportive, loving and caring mother. It’s important to nurture him physically, mentally and spiritually so we can bring the best out of him,” says Ednorlyn Bautista, mother of Nathan.

Thankfully, programs like Promil Pre-School’s i-Shine Talent Camp 2 gave parents the opportunity to hone a child’s talent to excellence.

“This experience helped not only in nurturing Nathan’s singing skills, but contributed a lot in developing a closer relationship between me and my son,” she ends.

Dancing to the Top
The same sentiments ring true for the parents of i-Shiner, Jan Michael Andres, or JM for short, who was recognized for his dancing skills at the young age of 7, and became the Top i-Shiner for dancing.

“Bilang isang magulang, importante ang gabayan ang pagpapalaki sa mga bata ng may disiplina, takot sa Diyos at mabigyan sila ng wastong edukasyon,” shares Lola Margie Patricio.

In JM’s quest to become a talented dancer, his parents wholeheartedly gave their support when he expressed interest in joining Promil Pre-School’s i-Shine Talent Camp 2. As parents, it was important for them to be behind JM’s goal, empower his talent and believe that he can be the best.

Acting to Reach Triumph

“An exceptionally talented child is one that exceeds others by virtue of what they can do. In Yesha’s case, it was her talent to recite the Desiderata before she learned how to read,” the mother of our top i-Shiner for acting and grand i-Shiner, Yesha Camile, fondly recalls.

As a single mom, Carmela Camile works very hard to be with her daughter every step of the way as she works to develop her skills. This includes providing support for Yesha when she became part of Promil Pre-School’s i-Shine Talent Camp 2.

“This experience boosted her confidence and gave her an opportunity to work with individuals who could do a lot towards her growth,” she adds.

Truly, the right nutrition and the guidance of these children’s mothers played an important role in their talent development; proving that a mother’s support goes a long way in nurturing a child’s gift to excellence.
