LG Shares the Good Life with Pasig City Frontliners

LG Electronics, South Korean technology innovator and global leader, stepped up to provide much needed support to for the frontliners combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.

5 LG Refrigerators for the city’s mobile kitchen campaign and 2 LG washing machines for the nurses’ and doctors’ isolation house.

LG Philippines, which holds office in the city of Pasig, LG donated to Pasig City 500 bags of personal care kits provided by LG Household & Health Care through LG CSR Team Korea, 5 LG Refrigerators for the city’s mobile kitchen campaign, and 2 LG washing machines for the nurses’ and doctors’ isolation house.

The 500 bags of LG Personal Hygiene kits were distributed to Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH), Pasig City Child’s Hope (PCCH), and Pasig City’s Emergency Unit.

LGEPH Managing Director Inkwun Heo applauded the efforts of the Pasig City LGU.

“We’re fortunate to be given the opportunity to help, especially to the brave frontliners. Life's about more than having the latest technology, rather, it's about the experiences technology creates that impact our lives,” said Director Inkwun Heo.

The Passion: 7 Last Words Of Jesus On The Cross

Jesus Christ made seven final statements during his last hours on the cross. Recorded in the Gospels between the time of his crucifixion and his death, they reveal his divinity as well as his humanity.

1) Jesus Speaks to the Father

Luke 23:34

Jesus said, 

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” 

In the midst of his excruciating suffering, the heart of Jesus was focused on others rather than himself. Here we see the nature of his love—unconditional and divine.

2) Jesus Speaks to the Criminal on the Cross

Luke 23:43

“I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” 

One of the criminals who was crucified with Christ, had recognized who Jesus was and expressed faith in him as Savior. Here we see God’s grace poured out through faith, as Jesus assured the dying man of his forgiveness and eternal salvation.

3) Jesus Speaks to Mary and John

John 19:26-27

When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother,

“Dear woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” 

Jesus, looking down from the cross, was still filled with the concerns of a son for the earthly needs of his mother. None of his brothers were there to care for her, so he gave this task to the Apostle John. Here we clearly see Christ’s humanity.

4) Jesus Cries Out to the Father

Matthew 27:46 (also Mark 15:34)

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, 

“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” 

In the darkest hours of his suffering, Jesus cried out the opening words of Psalm 22. And although much has been suggested regarding the meaning of this phrase, it was quite apparent the agony Christ felt as he expressed separation from God. Here we see the Father turning way from the Son as Jesus bore the full weight of our sin

5) Jesus is Thirsty

John 19:28

Jesus knew that everything was now finished, and to fulfill the Scriptures he said, 

“I am thirsty.”

Jesus refused the initial drink of vinegar, gall and myrrh (Matthew 27:34 and Mark 15:23) offered to alleviate his suffering. But here, several hours later, we see Jesus fulfilling the messianic prophecyifound in Psalm 69:21.

6) It is Finished.

John 19:30

… he said, 

“It is finished.”

Jesus knew he was suffering the crucifixion for a purpose. Earlier he had said in John 10:18 of his life, “No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” (NIV) These three words were packed with meaning, for what was finished here was not only Christ’s earthly life, not only his suffering and dying, not only the payment for sin and the redemption of the world—but the very reason and purpose he came to earth was finished. His final act of obedience was complete. The Scriptures had been fulfilled.

7) Jesus’ Last Words

Luke 23:46

Jesus called out with a loud voice, 

“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. 

Here Jesus closes with the words of Psalm 31:5, speaking to the Father. We see his complete trust in the Father. Jesus entered death in the same way he lived each day of his life, offering up his life as the perfect sacrifice and placing himself in God’s hands.

2.Jesus hear his Cross.

  "O Jesus,make me strong to consumer my wicked passions, and to rise quickly from sin." 

4. Jesus Meets His Mother.   
  " O Jesus, grant me a tender love for your Mother, who offered You for love of me."

" O Jesus, like Simon lead me over closer to You  through my daily crosses and trials."

6. Jesus and Veronica. 
"O Jesus, imprint Your image on my heart that I may be faithful to You all my life." 

7. Jesus  Falls a Second Time. 
"O Jesus, I repent for having offended You. Grant me forgiveness of all my sins." 

8.Jesus Speaks to the Women.  
"O Jesus, Grant me tears of compassion for Your sufferrings and of sorrow for my sins." 

9. Jesus Falls a Third Time.
 "O Jesus, let me never yield to despair.Letme come to You in hardship and spiritual distress. " 

10. He is Stripped of His Garments. 
 O Jesus, let me sacrifice  all my attachments rather than imperil the divine life of my soul." 

11.Jesus is Nailed to the Cross. 
   " O Jesus ,strengthen my faith and increase my love for You. Help me to accept my crosses." 

12. Jesus  Dies on the Cross.  
 "O Jesus, I thank You for making me a child of God.Help me to forgive others." 

13. Jesus  Is Taken down from the Cross.  
 O Jesus, through the intercession of Your  Holy Mother, let me be pleasing to You." 

14. Jesus  Is Laid in the Tomb.
 " O Jesus. strengthen my will to live for You on earth and bring me to eternal bliss in heaven." 

 Prayers after the Stations of the Cross  

 JESUS, You became an example of humility, obedience and patience, and preceded me on the way oflifebearing Your Cross. Grant that,inflamed with Your love,I May cheerfully take upon myself the sweet yoke of Your Gospel together with the mortification of the Cross  and follow You as a true disciple so that I may  be UNITED with you in heaven.

Life after COVID-19: Stories of Survival

As of April 7, the Department of Health reported 414 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease in the country, raising the total number to 3,660. The Philippines now has 163 fatalities, and 73 recoveries. But while the number of deaths outnumber recoveries, most people who contract the virus go on to get better. That’s because 80% of people who contract the coronavirus will only experience relatively mild symptoms, or even no symptoms at all.

While most will recover from contracting COVID-19, the peculiar nature of recovery is it requires isolation. And patients, in addition to being sick, will oftentimes also experience great anxiety and afraid. According to the members of Public Health Communications Advisory Network (PHCAN), COVID-positive patients should be shown kindness and compassion, and not discrimination and fear.

As a follow up to their first FB Live session last April 4, PHCAN will be holding another Live session this Saturday, April 11 at 2PM, with Dr. Iris Isip-Tan together with COVID-19 survivors to discuss recovery, coping, and moving forward during this very challenging time.
