Get ahead and stay connected in smarter, more convenient ways with the brand-new OPPO ColorOS 13

Global smart device brand OPPO continues to innovate not just their gadgets, but also their software, to evolve with the ever-changing needs of its customers. With the launch of its newest operating system, the ColorOS 13, OPPO continues to live up to this promise, providing Filipinos with a highly efficient and easy-to-use experience on their smart devices.

Helping you live and work more easily and intelligently, OPPO developed and upgraded a range of features in the ColorOS 13 that allow for seamless connectivity and integration into your lifestyle.

Improving working efficiency across multiple devices

It’s now more common than not to work with multiple devices like a computer and a smartphone at the same time. Despite some advantages, having to constantly switch between devices can be frustrating and time consuming. First introduced on ColorOS 12, Multi-Screen Connect has been upgraded on ColorOS 13 to help you seamlessly switch and work across your devices, enjoying enhanced efficiency and convenience at work or home.

With this feature, you can now sync up your OPPO smartphone to your OPPO Pad Air, for powerful productivity and immersive entertainment. Just one tap of the Multi-Screen Connect toggle in the Control Center can connect the two devices, supporting operations like screen casting, reverse control, file transfer, and copy and paste of text between them.

Multi-Screen Connect between OPPO smartphones and OPPO Pad Air

Connection between PCs and OPPO devices has also been enhanced in ColorOS 13, as you can now display two different smartphone apps simultaneously, plus mirror your smartphone screen on a laptop. No need to squeeze in multiple apps on your smartphone screen thanks to this feature, helping significantly improve multitasking efficiency[1].

Multi-Screen Connect

The upgraded Multi-Screen Connect also makes it much easier and faster to transfer files between devices. Transfer images, music, documents and videos from OPPO smartphone to OPPO tablet or smartphone to PC without consuming any mobile data. Nearby Share from Android 13[2] can also help you transfer files between a phone and nearby Windows devices and even copy-and-paste text across gadgets.

Boosting remote meeting productivity

With remote working becoming such a normal part of people’s lives, the Meeting Assistant on ColorOS 13 is here to help boost productivity during online meetings. Once your OPPO phone detects that you are in an online meeting, it will trigger adaptive network optimizations to allocate more resources to meeting apps such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. This helps ensure you have a smoother and higher-quality internet connection during important calls. This feature also minimizes distractions by simplifying notifications, including changing regular banner notifications to simplified banner notifications with only single-line-text content.

Protecting information privacy and data security

ColorOS 13 also includes enhanced privacy and safety functions to help you feel safe and secure when using your OPPO devices. As we share more and more of our lives online, it can be difficult managing which information should be shared or not. With just one click, Auto Pixelate can immediately recognize and pixelate sensitive information, like profile photos and names on chat screenshots in Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

Auto Pixelate

Meanwhile, the new Private Safe in ColorOS 13 comes with the adoption of the widely used Advanced Encryption Standard, which keeps pictures, videos, and other files encrypted and stored under a locked, private directory. The files you store in Private Safe need to be decrypted before they can be shared or transferred, ensuring an extremely high level of security for your sensitive data.

Moreover, the underlying privacy capabilities of Android 13 have been integrated into ColorOS 13 to provide comprehensive, all-round safety. Data copied to the clipboard can be automatically deleted after a short period of time, preventing unwanted access to personal information by third party apps. When connecting to Wi-Fi, you will not be asked for any location permissions, ensuring no unnecessary disclosure of your location data. ColorOS 13 also provides more options when granting notification permissions, allowing you to minimize disruptions.

Thanks to its wealth of privacy and security features, ColorOS 13 has been recognized by authoritative third-party organizations including ISO, ePrivacy, and TrustArc. This recognition demonstrates OPPO’s ability to protect user privacy and safety to a level that exceeds industry standards.

Starting with the Find X5 Pro and Find X5, and then rolling out to the rest of the devices, OPPO users worldwide will soon be able to enjoy the smart productivity and enhanced privacy provided by ColorOS 13.

In PIE's hybrid narrative-reality show “The Chosen One: Ang Piliserye ng Bayan” - Viewers have the power to control the story

Melai, Jhong, Kaila, former “PBB” housemates star in Pie's hybrid narrative-reality show

PIE (Pinoy Interactive Entertainment) Channel continues to beef up its offerings for its fourth month on air as it launches an engaging hybrid narrative-reality show this September 24, 8 pm, with Melai Cantiveros as the host and one of the actors.

In “The Chosen One: Ang Piliserye ng Bayan,” PIE viewers can control the story and determine which character stays alive until the end by voting.

According to award-winning director and cinematographer Topel Lee, “The Chosen One” has a ‘choose your own adventure’ style that’s why it is called a ‘piliserye.’

“You [viewers] get to play god sa ‘piliserye.’ Ikaw ang magde-decide kung saan pupunta ang kwento. Fresh ito for this type of programming sa PIE Channel,” he shared.

Each week, five lucky Philippine-based voters will be selected via randomizer to win P1,000.

The show’s pilot features a suspense thriller series called “Soap Opera” that follows Charlie (Kaila Estrada), who signs up for a shady networking group called Astra Nuevo fronted by the strong-willed Miss Jane (Melai). In Astra Nuevo, Charlie meets a group of 10 aspiring entrepreneurs from different walks of life who share her dream of gaining financial freedom. But soon they discover that their ambition could cost them their lives.

Joining Kaila in the hybrid narrative-reality series are former “PBB” housemates Andi Abaya (Rachel), Amanda Zamora (Julie), Dustin Mayores (Jason), Gabb Skribikin (Cheska), Kobie Brown (Peter), Luke Alford (Kiko), Maxine Trinidad (Emma), Rob Blackburn (Joe), Seham Daghlas (Paula), and Zach Guerrero (Mike) who will act as players in the show or the characters that will be voted by viewers.
In “Soap Opera,” Kaila is a non-player. She won’t be part of the 10 characters that are up for voting each week. Other non-players in the series are “PBB” Otso housemate Emjay Savilla and film and theater actress and host Sunshine Teodoro.

Every Saturday (8 to 10 pm), “The Chosen One” will air live episodes of “Soap Opera” so ‘chosen mentor’ Jhong Hilario can dissect and rate each players’ performance in the narrative. It will also reveal the current standing of the players based on the audience votes.

During the first episode of “Soap Opera” last Saturday (September 24), Charlie met the 10 aspiring entrepreneurs during the orientation day of Astra Nuevo that was led by Miss Jane. Charlie also found the lifeless body of Astra Nuevo’s security guard who was mysteriously killed at the office.

The Saturday episode (October 1) will be more exciting as “The Chosen One” reveals who among the 10 players garnered the highest number of ligtas votes and who are in the bottom two.

During the show’s primer, Melai shared that viewers will get to see a different side of her in “The Chosen One.”
“First time ko na ganitong storya. Kasi ako naman nagho-horror, pero may sundot na comedy. Dito parang may pagka-serious talaga,” she said.
She also lauded Jhong during the mediacon saying,
sobrang honored ako na kasama ko si Kuys Jhong. Talagang magkakaroon kami ng tawanan and banters. Sobrang happy din ako kasi yan ang sample king.”
Meanwhile, Jhong said during the show’s primer that he is grateful to be picked as the ‘chosen mentor’ and shared what he expects to see from the players.

“Siyempre dahil suspense thriller itong piliserye natin, gusto kong matakot sa acting nila. Gusto kong tumayo ‘yung mga balahibo ko dahil alam ko kapag natakot ako, ‘yung mga manonood sa kanila, matatakot din,” Jhong remarked.

On the other hand, Kaila sees “The Chosen One” as a challenge since it is her first thriller series. “Challenge ito because first time ko gumawa ng show na thriller ‘yung theme. I keep in my mind na I want to give it the best performance that I can give, something that even I would want to watch,” she explained.

Besides “The Chosen One,” PIE also offers viewers new shows and PIE jocks for more excitement. They are Gretchen Fullido, Abby Trinidad, Frances Cabatuando, Mayor TV, Tristan Ramirez (Mon to Sat) Madam Inutz, Migs Bustos, and Nicole Cordovez (Sun) for BRGY PIESILOG; Janine Berdin and Raco Ruiz for PIEBORITO (Mon to Sun); Anji Salvacion, Eris Aragoza, Ralph Malibunas, Sam Bernardo (Mon to Sat), Gello Marquez, Jeremy G, Reign Parani, and Vivoree (Sun) for PIEGALINGAN; Eian Rances, Negi, Sela Guia, Kevin Montillano, Nicki Morena, Ruth Paga, Nonong Ballinan (Mon to Sat) Inah Evans, Kid Yambao, Patsy Reyes, and Jackie Gonzaga (Sundays) for PIENALO; and finally, Aaron Maniego, Karen Bordador, Renee Dominique (Mon to Fri), Elmo Magalona, and Vivoree (Sun) for PIE Night Long.

Who will survive in this bloody tale of murder and be named as “The Chosen One?” Find out by watching the ‘piliserye’ ng bayan every Saturday at 8 pm only on PIE Channel.
