Moneymaxxing Your Credit Card Without Maxing It Out

In an economy where everything seems more expensive than it used to be, people aren't avoiding credit anymore. They're finding ways on how to make it work harder for them.

This shift fueled the rise of Moneymaxxing, a growing mindset focused on getting more value from the money you're already spending—whether that's through rewards, cashback, flexibility, or simply using the right financial tools for the right purchases.

Credit cards, when used strategically, can play an important role in that equation.

As the country's #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform, Maya makes it easier for users to put that mindset into practice through rewards, cashback, flexible payment options, and tools that help them get more value from their everyday spending.

Put planned spending on your card

One of the easiest ways to moneymaxx your credit card is surprisingly simple: use it for spending that was already going to happen. Think groceries, dining, travel bookings, subscriptions, fuel, and recurring bills.

The goal is to be more intentional about the spending that's already part of your life. Because the more your credit card aligns with your actual spending habits, the easier it becomes to earn rewards, enjoy cashback, and get more value from purchases you were already planning to make.

Treat your credit limit as a tool

A credit limit isn't extra income, it's a financial tool.

A good rule of thumb is to treat your credit card as a payment tool, not a spending target. Keeping your spending manageable makes it easier to stay on top of payments, avoid unnecessary stress, and maintain healthy credit habits over time.

Because moneymaxxing isn't about seeing how much credit you can access. It's about using it strategically.

Choose rewards you'll actually use

The best rewards are the ones you'll actually use.

With the Maya Black Credit Card, cardholders earn instant Maya Miles for every purchase, including up to 10x Maya Miles at Maya Black Preferred merchants. These Maya Miles can then be used for shopping, dining, and more, turning regular spending into perks and experiences that actually feel worth it.

There are also benefits beyond points. Complimentary quarterly airport lounge access at select local and international airports means cardholders can enjoy a more comfortable travel experience before takeoff.

For those who prefer cashback, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card helps everyday spending work a little harder too, with 5% cashback at Landers, 2% on dining, and 1% on most purchases.

And if you're regularly on the road, using your Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card at Landers-Caltex stations guarantees a minimum discount of up to ₱7.00 per liter on fuel, helping make every fuel stop a little easier on the wallet.

Because whether it's miles, cashback, travel perks, or fuel savings, moneymaxxing isn't always about spending less, it's about getting more value from the spending that's already happening.
Use flexibility when it makes sense

One thing people don't talk about enough when it comes to credit cards? Timing. Sometimes financial stress isn't caused by overspending. Sometimes it's simply because several expenses decide to show up at the same time: a trip gets booked, a bill comes in, something at home needs replacing. Life has a funny way of clustering expenses together.

That's why flexibility has quietly become one of the most underrated financial tools.

With Maya's Mini Payments feature, cardholders can split eligible posted purchases into 3, 6, 9, or 12 monthly payments, all with a fixed add on rate of 1% interest per month , making it easier to spread out larger expenses when it makes sense for your budget.

Pay on time, your future self will thank you

Moneymaxxing isn't just about rewards, cashback, or perks. Some of the biggest benefits happen behind the scenes.

Paying your credit card bill on time helps you avoid unnecessary charges and supports healthy credit habits over time.

And since everything lives within the Maya app, it's easier to keep track of spending, rewards, payments, and credit all in one place.

At its core, moneymaxxing your credit card isn't about spending more money. It's about getting more value from the spending that's already happening, whether that's through rewards, cashback, flexibility, or simply building better financial habits along the way.

Globe unit m360 brings digital skills training, free surgeries to rural folk in Naic, Cavite

Digital for Good: From Farm to Chat program in collaboration with PRRM and WSFP begins nationwide rollout

Globe Telecom unit m360, in partnership with the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM) and World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), kicked off its Digital for Good: From Farm to Chat initiative in Naic, Cavite as part of its mission to boost the livelihood of farmers and fisherfolk through digital literacy workshops and health care support.
Consisting of a digital skills training session and free minor surgeries, the Digital for Good: From Farm to Chat community outreach day started with a half-day workshop facilitated by m360 volunteers covering four practical topics: digital product catalogue creation, order-taking via messaging, digital promotion, and basic digital safety.

m360 tapped WSFP to conduct the medical mission portion of the community outreach day. Up to 150 patients were pre-screened by WSFP for the minor surgical care that took place in the afternoon.

Mayor Rommel Magbitang (center) shows support for the Digital for Good initiative

"Rural farming and fishing communities face two compounding barriers - limited digital access and untreated health conditions - that hold them back from fully participating in the economy. Removing both barriers will help create real and lasting change. Our mission is to enable every Filipino community to connect, communicate, and grow," said Ramon ‘Mon’ Hirang, m360 President and CEO.

"At m360, we believe that how we work matters as much as what we build. We are committed to using our platform not just as a business tool, but as a force for genuine social good," he added.

Narrowing the digital divide one community workshop at a time

During the digital literacy workshop, m360 volunteers showed participants how to use their cellphones to sell, promote, and protect their livelihoods.

The workshop consisted of three main topics - Ibenta Mo Online, Kumita sa Chat, and Huwag Matakot sa Internet. To help participants reach a wider market for their products online, volunteers demonstrated how to take a good product photo using their cellphones, write a simple description, and how to share via chat or Facebook. m360 volunteers likewise showed participants how to use Viber or SMS to take orders, confirm payments, and follow up with buyers. Simple scripts and sample conversations were included.

The discussions also touched on spotting fake buyers, the need to confirm payments before releasing goods, and adopting simple practices that will help ensure safe and secure online selling and transactions.

Collaborating for good

Mang Inasal ranks among PH’s strongest brands

The 2026 Brand Finance Report cited Mang Inasal as the strongest Quick Service Restaurant Brand, recognizing the 28% increase in Mang Inasal’s brand value

Mang Inasal  garnered a Brand Strength Index score of 95.2/100 and an upgrade in its brand strength rating from AAA to AAA+. The significant jump makes Mang Inasal one of the biggest movers in this year's report, sustaining its business performance amid inflationary pressures and evolving consumer habits.
Over all, Mang Inasal placed second among the nation’s strongest brands where retail, restaurant, and food brands have taken the lead, according to Brand Finance.

Mang Inasal President Mike V. Castro attributed the brand's momentum to its ability to remain relevant to what Filipinos value most: great-tasting food, strong value for money, and a dining experience that feels familiar and joyful. "Even amid economic pressures, Filipinos continue to look for brands that deliver both satisfaction and sulit value. That has remained one of Mang Inasal's strongest differentiators," Castro said.

Known as the country's Grill Expert, Mang Inasal has strengthened its position through its signature offerings, including Chicken Inasal, Pork BBQ, and Extra Creamy Halo-Halo, alongside its well-loved Unli-Saya dining experience.

Beyond its menu, the brand has successfully built cultural relevance through digital engagement and community-driven campaigns. From creator collaborations and live streams to social media content driven by real customer experiences, Mang Inasal has continued to connect with consumers where conversations happen.

"Our goal is not just to go viral but to remain culturally relevant and meaningfully connected to Filipinos across platforms and generations," Castro added.

The company has also invested in strengthening its digital ecosystem, including the recently revamped Mang Inasal App, to support growing demand for delivery, takeout, drive-thru, and digital ordering services.

Looking ahead, Mang Inasal sees opportunities to expand its presence across more everyday eating occasions while increasing customer frequency and household penetration. The brand is also exploring growth opportunities in underrepresented dayparts such as breakfast and merienda.

Supporting these ambitions is a strong focus on people and culture. Mang Inasal continues to invest in training, operational excellence, and franchise development to ensure a consistent customer experience across its network.

"Beyond serving food, our teams understand that they help create joyful everyday moments for customers," Castro said.

The strong Brand Finance showing highlights Mang Inasal's success in combining value, innovation, and authentic Filipino hospitality. With continued investments in digital engagement, customer convenience, and operational excellence, the brand is well-positioned to sustain its momentum and strengthen its leadership in the years ahead.

Coca-Cola Philippines Shares EPR Implementation Perspectives at ASEAN- EU Summit in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines — Government, business, and development leaders recently convened in Cebu for the ASEAN-EU Sustainability Summit 2026, a regional forum focused on practical approaches to environmental and economic challenges across Southeast Asia.

The summit was organized by the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), in partnership with the Philippines’ role as ASEAN Chair, and brought together public and private sector stakeholders to discuss policy alignment, implementation realities, and investment conditions.
[L-R] Rob Kaplan, Founder and CEO of Circulate Capital; Hon. Jonas Leones, Undersecretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR); Antonio “Tony” Del Rosario, President of Coca-Cola Philippines; Dr. René van Berkel, Co-Convenor of the ASEAN Circular Economy Business Alliance; and Chris Humphrey, Executive Director of the EU-ASEAN Business Council, during the panel discussion at the summit.

Coca-Cola Philippines participated as a sponsor and speaker in the flagship session, “Making Circularity Work: Scaling Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in ASEAN.” Discussions focused on how EPR frameworks can move from policy design to consistent execution on the ground.

As a total beverage company, Coca-Cola shared several considerations for effective EPR systems and to maximize compliance models, including: clear and enforceable regulatory EPR system design; alignment with local collection and recycling infrastructure; inclusion of informal waste workers within recycling value chain and recovery systems; and stronger incentives that support recycled material use and infrastructure investment across the region.

Antonio “Tony” Del Rosario, president of Coca-Cola Philippines, joined fellow panelists from government, ASEAN institutions, and civil society to discuss implementation challenges and lessons from early-stage EPR markets.
Antonio “Tony” Del Rosario, President of Coca-Cola Philippines, shares Coca-Cola’s perspectives on effective EPR implementation.

“EPR systems work best when design, enforcement, and on-the-ground realities are aligned,” Del Rosario said. “That requires coordination across government, industry, and waste management stakeholders.”

Discussions throughout the summit similarly underscored that successful EPR systems require coordinated action across governments, businesses, financial institutions, waste management stakeholders, and communities. Speakers also highlighted the importance of ensuring that frameworks remain practical and locally relevant, recognizing the differing levels of infrastructure and market maturity across ASEAN economies.

Coca-Cola Philippines referenced examples from its local experience supporting collection and recycling efforts locally. These include Tapon to Ipon, a collection initiative now operating through more than 6,000 community drop-off points nationwide, and partnerships focused on waste recovery and recycling infrastructure. The company also noted the role of its philanthropic arm, the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, in supporting programs that engage informal waste workers in the recycling value chain.

The company also cited PETValue Philippines, the country’s first bottle-to-bottle PET recycling facility established through a joint venture between Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines and Indorama Ventures, as an example of private sector investment contributing to domestic recycling capacity.

Speakers across the summit emphasized that EPR outcomes depend on consistent implementation, investment-enabling policies, political stability, knowledge-sharing and collaboration across markets, particularly given differences in infrastructure maturity across ASEAN economies.

Coca-Cola Philippines said it will continue to engage with government, industry peers, and community partners as EPR frameworks evolve across Southeast Asia.

Can the vivo V70 FE keep up with the V70?

Smartphone brand vivo has detailed the imaging capabilities of its mid-range smartphone, the vivo V70 FE, demonstrating how its camera system performs alongside its more premium sibling, the vivo V70.

In a series of real-world comparative tests conducted in a restaurant setting, the vivo V70 FE delivered camera performance that closely matched the vivo V70, particularly in indoor and low-light scenarios. Equipped with a 200MP Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) Ultra-Clear Main Camera, the device produced detailed image output across multiple shooting conditions.

Using standard 1x Photo Mode, both smartphones were tested on architectural and long-distance image rendering from a fixed indoor vantage point. The scene included a residential neighborhood, a visible rainbow, and Mount Arayat in the background.

The vivo V70 FE captured a wide dynamic range while preserving structural detail and environmental gradients. Its high-resolution sensor maintained edge sharpness and clarity in distant subjects, producing image quality comparable to the vivo V70 in daylight conditions.

Additional tests evaluated specialized camera modes commonly used in everyday photography.

In 85mm Portrait Mode, both devices were used to photograph interior lighting fixtures to assess focal compression and depth simulation. Although the vivo V70 produced a creamier bokeh, the vivo V70 FE still effectively separated the foreground subject from the background, creating natural depth while preserving fine structural details.

For Food Mode, the smartphones were tested using a tiramisu dessert under warm restaurant lighting. The vivo V70 FE captured fine textures, including cocoa powder and layered cream, while maintaining balanced white tones despite challenging indoor lighting conditions.

The device’s imaging performance is supported by hardware designed to improve clarity and stability across various shooting environments. The vivo V70 FE features a 200MP OIS Ultra-Clear Main Camera with a 1/1.56-inch flagship-grade sensor, enabling greater light intake for improved image quality in varied lighting conditions. Compared with the previous-generation V60 Lite, the sensor delivers a 42% increase in light capture, supporting enhanced detail in both daytime and low-light photography.

The smartphone also incorporates vivo’s Ultra-Clear Imaging Engine, which uses multi-frame processing and computational imaging algorithms to optimize sharpness, exposure, and overall image composition.

Supporting the camera system is vivo’s self-developed OIS technology, rated at CIPA 4.0. The stabilization system enables faster shake compensation, helping reduce blur and improve handheld shooting performance, particularly in low-light or motion-heavy scenarios.

Beyond imaging, the vivo V70 FE also offers battery and charging capabilities designed to support extended daily use. The smartphone is equipped with a 7000mAh BlueVolt battery and 90W FlashCharge technology, enabling longer usage periods and faster recharging for users who rely on their devices for photography, content creation, and everyday multitasking.

The vivo V70 FE is available for as low as Php 25,999, which is a more accessible alternative to the vivo V70 while offering camera capabilities designed to compete within the premium smartphone segment. Get it now in vivo stores nationwide or online via the vivo e-store, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
