ANIMA, A+E Networks™ Asia Bring South Korea’s Most Watched YouTube Reality Show to PH

PH version of ‘Nego King’ to stream on ANIMA’s YouTube Channel for FREE!

South Korea's most watched reality show, “Nego King,” will finally reach the Philippines as KROMA's ANIMA Studios partners with one of the leading global entertainment content companies, A+E Networks™ Asia.

A Philippine version of the reality show is coming soon and will be made accessible to viewers in the Philippines for FREE on ANIMA Studios’ YouTube Channel. Hosted by popular Filipino radio and TV personality Sam YG, the show will be produced in Taglish (Tagalog-English). With a following of 453K on Instagram, 21K on Facebook, and 1.6M followers on Twitter, the new Nego King PH host is sure to keep the viewers engaged, laughing and haggling through every episode.

Since the original South Korean “Nego King” premiered two years ago on YouTube, it has steadily gained fame. Now, the show, which has aired 60 episodes across 4 seasons, has amassed a total 135 million views, and the eyeballs keep coming.

In this popular web show, the host is “the king of negotiation,” interacting with ordinary customers through street interviews. The goal is to get to know the pulse of the people by asking for their opinion, critique, and wishes, especially on discounts and/or freebies on various “goods,” which may be an item or service such as beauty or cosmetic products, food, appliances or home items, and electronic gadgets, to name a few.

Later, the Nego King faces CEOs of the brands mentioned in each episode to leverage customer sentiment to get the best deals or discounts. This makes for highly relatable content in an era of belt-tightening due to inflation, especially among Filipinos who love a good bargain.

Now, with ANIMA’s newest partnership with A+E Networks™ Asia, the best Nego Show (Negosyo) of South Korea will soon be entertaining Filipinos with a local version in Taglish, bringing excitement and better deals for the Philippine audience, from clothes to food and various accessories and services.

Watch out because the Nego King may just pop in your neighborhood for ambush interviews.

Tara nang tumawa at tumawad sa Nego King PH!

An app for heartbreak? Move on with ANIMA’s romance-comedy-drama film RESET U/I

What if there’s an app that can cure a heartbreak? Can you move on in an instant?

ANIMA, KROMA Entertainment Inc.’s film production outfit, merges the world of apps and love in its latest romantic comedy-drama offering “Reset U/I.”

The movie revolves around an app developer (Alexa Ilacad as Adie) who helps a venture capitalist (Enchong Dee as Geo) get over his ex-girlfriend so she can get her funding. The result: two people trying to forget so they could move on, only to confront and accept the pain, and learn from the past.

“I like how “RESET U/I” is not your typical rom-com drama. ‘Yung story and journey noong dalawang characters ang ganda and how their characters develop as well. Just when I was reading it and not even thinking it was me or it was Enchong, talagang kinikilig ako sa mga lines,” said Ilacad.

Enchong shared: “I feel like every actor has a responsibility to their audience. Kailangan mong bigyan ng something new ‘yung audience mo and we’re in the service of making people touch their emotions. So eto na finally makakagawa na tayo ulit ng pelikula na mapapanood sa big screen.”

True to ANIMA’s mission to highlight new voices, it looks forward to seeing Ilacad in her first solo-leading role alongside Dee, whose charm and wit had everyone at the storycon swooning.

ANIMA had the film’s story conference, look test and table reading attended by the cast and staff last June 28. With Dee and Ilacad were Iana Bernardez, Yesh Burce, Nikko Natividad, Lance Reblando and Nikki Valdez.

The exciting storyline was written by ANIMA’s former Creative Producer, Benedict Mendoza, with Director JP Habac tapped to bring the idea to the big screen.

“To say that we are very excited for “RESET U/I” would be an understatement to express how ANIMA feels about JP Habac’s newest film with us because we’ve been developing RESET U/I since 2019,” said Kren Yap, ANIMA’s Head of Creative Development.

After working with Habac in “Gaya sa Pelikula,” ANIMA has set several more projects with the young and talented filmmaker.

Globe Studios transforms into ANIMA, expect more blockbusters in 2022

Globe Studios —the team behind the critically-acclaimed Filipino films such as Fangirl, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, and Dead Kids; along with series such as Gaya sa Pelikula and OTJ: The Missing 8, is rolling its closing credits as it transforms into a new organization.
ANIMA is the new name of Globe Studios, an organization now under the umbrella of Kroma Entertainment, Inc., a new entertainment company backed by the Globe Group of Companies.

“Our new name signifies the changes we will be offering to the public as we venture into a new era of entertainment. We wanted something that feels more apt to the industry and medium we deeply care for. It was so hard for us to let go of the name Globe Studios because we’ve done and achieved so much in our five years of existence, but I believe we can only go onward and upward with ANIMA,” said Quark Henares, Head of ANIMA.

Fans and supporters of Globe Studios are in for more fun and exciting materials from ANIMA. One of the films they can anticipate is Ang Pagbabalik ng Kuwago, the first Filipino feature film to premiere at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in more than 15 years. Box office hit director Antonette Jadaone is also busy working on the Hintayan ng Langit spinoff series "Simula sa Gitna," starring Maris Racal and Kit Thompson. ANIMA is also strengthening collaborations with One Championship, WeTV, Netflix, and HBO Go.

With ANIMA now a unique brand on its own, there's reinvigorated energy of anticipation and creative excitement in the new organization. The team is raring to experiment with other formats and genres. It is already visible in the podcasts “Nandito Sila” and “Come Home”. Other podcasts started tackling new themes - cryptocurrency, motherhood, sexual behaviors, to name a few.

“We are always on the lookout for how we can tell Filipino stories better – be it through the silver screen, black box, or handheld devices. It's the stories that matter, and the way we get them to you. We're doubling down on that with ANIMA, so you can expect more stuff on YouTube, on Spotify, on TikTok. Wherever!” Henares added.
