Ducati Superbike riders invade BGC at the Globe Slipstream

Ducati Superbike riders participated at the Globe Slipstream as they invaded the modified race track at the Bonifacio Global City streets last Saturday, August 30 as a homecoming event for Filipino-Swiss race car driver Marlon Stockinger.


The fast guys, the race teams of Ducati-Bacchus, Ducati-Access Plus, ATAT Racing Team, Samson College-Access Plus - Ducati Desmo Owners Club of the Philippines and Kojie-San brought in their top riders, among them 16-year-old TJ Alberto, superbike master rider and Ducati Philippines CEO Mr. Toti Alberto and General Manager Marc de Joya, John Defensor and Alvin Dee, Superbike Open riders Jussi Hoikka, Vince Mercado and Jordan Gaw, Lawrence Macalinao, Ralph Reyes Jay Carrion, Redge Burilla, Miguel Bichara, Gerald Aycardo, Nikki Romero, Gelo Roa, Daniel Savino, Col. Benjie Ladra, Martin Rosario, Monti Mortimer and former superbike champion Raniel Resuello.

Celebrity superbike racers also participated at the first Globe Slipstream, Dingdong Dantes and Bullet Jalosjos.


Globe Telecom, the exclusive business partner of Lotus F1 in the Philippines, decided to bring in Stockinger’s Lotus WSR Gravity Charouz Formula Renault 3.5 car he actually drives in the World Series for a test drive around a customized BGC race track.

Ducati superbike racers did a demonstration race along with the parade of vintage luxury cars, karting challenge.

JDI showcases Solignum protection in 2014 Cebucon Construction Show

Converse releases its new Fall 2014 collection

Converse gears up for Fall as releases its new Fall 2014 collection. Gone are the sweltering days where humidity hampers people from wearing sneakers. A preview Converse PH Fall 2014 collection and the latests and novel collection was presented to media and guests during a Converse gathering last Tuesday, August 19. 

As the weeks now traverse to the cooler and wetter weather, “America’s Original Sports Company”™ Converse releases its new Fall 2014 collection which include the All-Star, Cons Sneaker and Apparel, and Jack Purcell Sneaker.


All-Star Collection

Over the years, the classic All-Star roster already stamped a reliable familiarity to the local market – may it be for a casual or ragged get-up. 

With the new designs launched, Converse opted for a monochromatic assemblage with new profiles and elevated detailing which can endure rainy days or mud pits. One should not fret about getting it grubby even in the wildest outdoor music festival there is.


The Chuck Taylor All Star Rubber is water resistant due to its French terry lining with a rubber upper. It is completed with a gusseted tongue and brass eyelets.

Gilas Pilipinas is the Philippine National Basketball Team under the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) previously called Smart Gilas Pilipinas.

Smart Gilas represents the Philippines at the 17th FIBA tournament.

17th FIBA tournament to be aired on ABS-CBN Sports and ABS-CBN Sports + Action

The 17th FIBA to the Filipino sports fan’s households and placing the action in their hands as ABS-CBN Sports and ABS-CBN Sports + Action are bringing the Basketball World Cup Spain 2014, 17th FIBA tournament this August 30 until September 15. 


Kapamilyas gear up for the World Cup of the Philippines’ most loved sport.

FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, will be gathering the world’s most renowned athletes to be pitted against each other in matches to be held across six different areas across Spain, namely Madrid, Sevilla, Bilbao, Barcelona, Granada, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

A total of 24 countries are set to go all out in the tournament, divided into four clusters, namely Groups A, B, C, and D.

High anticipation is particularly coming from the NBA superstars that are set to participate in this year’s FIBA that had showcased their talents through NBA matches aired by ABS-CBN Sports over the previous years.

Also participating in the tournament will be the country’s very own Team Philippines’ Gilas Pilipinas, led by Coach Chot Reyes. The team will be competing in Group B of the tournament alongside Senegal, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Greece, and Croatia.

The tournament’s defending champion, which defeated host country Turkey in the 2010 finals, is team USA, currently ranked 1 st in the FIBA World Rankings. Team USA had won the event four times in the past and has appeared in all 17 previous editions. This year’s team will be coached by Hall of Famer Mike Krzyzewski, who also coached the USA when it won its last title.

Posing as the biggest threat to the USA this year is no less than the host country. Spain is currently ranked 2 nd in the FIBA Wolrd Rankings and is to be led by brothers Pau and Marc Gasol. Spain last won the FIBA World Championship in 2006, when it defeated Greece in the gold medal game in Japan.

ABS-CBN Sports + Action will be airing all Group B games, which the Philippines belongs to, and all games of host country Spain.
