CF Angeles presents star-studded shows starting October; Alden Richards, Martin Nievera and Vice Ganda in CF's prestigious line-up of top celeb performers

Beginning this October 2015, to ensure to give the patrons only the best, Casino Filipino (CF) Angeles will continue to treat its patrons to star-studded shows featuring country’s top celebrity performers.

To be spotted at the Angeles casino branch are “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda (November 14), singer-song writer Jose Mari Chan (for the VIP Night on November 20), and the country’s undisputed concert king Martin Nievera (December 29).

Nievera is proud to have been chosen as one of the Filipino artists who will perform in Casino Filipino. “After years of performing in some of the major casino resorts all over Las Vegas and the world, it’s about time I perform here at home,” he excitedly said.

Since it will be his first time to hold a show in CF, Nievera vows to “squeeze in as many of my 33 years of music as I can in one show. It’s an honor to be added to Casino Filipino’s already very prestigious line-up of performers,” he added.

CF Angeles will also feature the MYMP Band on October 14, actress-comedienne K. Brosas (with a live band) on October 17, Luke Mejares on October 23, and KZ Tandingan on October 28.

In November, among the featured celebrity performers are The Company (November 4), Ivy Violan (November 11), Liezl Garcia (November 13), Vina Morales (November 18), Frenchie Dy (November 25) and Willie Nepomuceno (November 28).

One of the best Christmas gifts from CF Angeles to Aldub fans in Pampanga and northern Philippines, on December 2, the “Pambansang Bae” Alden Richards holds a show at the branch together with former Sexbomb dancer Rochelle Pangilinan.

Comedians Le Chazz and AJ Tamiza will also bring the house down on December 16 with their unique brand of comedy while Randy Santiago will serenade casino patrons on December 23. Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, along with a live band, will also entertain the Angeles casino guests on December 11 while Erik Santos is slated to hold another exciting show in the branch on December 26.

Featuring a star-studded cast in its regular and celebrity shows is in line with CF Angeles’ launch of its ‘We Never Stop’ tagline last August.

After beefing-up its entertainment offerings and services, CF Angeles had also seen improved revenues and customer attendance.

“That was really our objective for launching a new slogan. Since we introduced the ‘We Never Stop’ tagline in July, we offered big celebrity shows and people now frequent the casino. Nag-invest tayo, maganda din naman ang naging balik,” said Branch Manager Redentor Rivera.

Rivera said that when Anne Curtis held her Annekapal concert in CF Angeles last August 20, they recorded P13 million in revenues. “The average we earn per day is just P8.4 million. That day, it was P13 million. August was really a record-breaking month for us.”

Customer attendance also grew by 16.08 percent in August compared to the same month last year from 76,000 to more than 88,000.

Rivera shared that quality entertainment shows greatly contributed to CF Angeles’ gaming operations revenue.

“Entertainment is a very effective marketing tool. Like Las Vegas, they are also focused on entertainment. That’s the trend. We saw how effective it was so we did it here.”

Through celebrity shows, CF Angeles was able to develop new markets, Rivera explained. “After watching the shows, some guests would go to the gaming area to play. And they come back after experiencing the fun and the thrill of winning. Lately, we observed that there are many new faces especially in the Slot Machine area.”

Celebrity shows, said Rivera, not only benefit the casino but also the whole province of Pampanga.

“We became a provider of quality entertainment to the locals and guests. Even residents from Nueva Ecija, Bulacan and other nearby provinces in Central and Northern Luzon come to watch our shows here,” Rivera said.
“Gagawin naming maganda talaga ang Casino Filipino Angeles. We will never stop creating quality entertainment and we will never stop providing our customers with wonderful experiences,” Rivera concluded.

UNIQLO with All-New Fleece Concepts for 2015

UNIQLO launches All-New Fleece Concepts for 2015 held at the SM Aura Premiere, Taguig City, October 16, 2015.

UNIQLO announces that it has greatly expanded its lineup of fleece outerwear, including highly fashionable coats and functional windproof jackets for Fall Winter 2015. UNIQLO has also grown its extra warm fleece offering, providing 1.5ºC greater warmth.

Fashion Director Daryl Chang

The men’s line includes an expanded range of windproof fleece, with a special film between the inner and outer material to keep out drafts.

This wind-resistant functionality has been incorporated in soft and comfortable pile lined fleece jacket, Sherpa fleece jacket in trendy khaki or camouflage colors, and faux mouton fleece jacket, with the last designed as a mouton jacket, rather than a fleece. The windproof film has been improved from last year, making it appropriate as an outerwear, also reducing stiffness.

The women’s line features four new types of coats, each with a unique silhouette - a trendy teddy fleece coat, fluffy fleece coat, pile lined fleece coat, and windproof fleece coat. They are suitable to any setting, from fashionable, to casual, to sporty.

The UNIQLO Fall Winter 2015 features an expanded lineup of styles incorporating fleece made from special fibers that harnesses the sun’s energy, providing 1.5ºC greater inner warmth.

Along with standard jacket types, this extra warm fleece is available in parkas and print fleece, as well as women’s fluffy fleece jackets and kids’ print fleece jackets.

I attended the launch of Uniqlo All-New Fleece Concept 2015 at the SM Aura Premiere last October 16 and my favorite,  blacks, whites, grays.

And I always like these jackets as they are suitable to any setting, from fashionable, to casual, to sporty and very wearable in many places. even places not that cold.

The Reyes Family in their Uniqlo Fleece, Andi Manzano-Reyes, GP Reyes and Baby Olivia who is so cute and looks like mallows. They shared about their travels and how Uniqlo clothes kept them warm during their family trips in in colder climate countries. And they are so excited on their next trip in Japan, with Uniqlo Fleece.

The cross-section of these special fibers is in a “C” shape that retains dead air to enhance warmth. Finally, the line includes an expanded range of check and bi-color designs, as well as those from UNIQLO’s MAGIC FOR ALL collaboration with Disney, which launched for Fall Winter 2015.

UNIQLO first launched fleece in 1994, and twenty years on, it remains a symbol of the LifeWear concept.

Celebrating Iloilo’s heritage online with Google; Iloilo heritage joins Google Cultural Institute collection

Google has collaborated with the University of the Philippines Western Visayas to launch Iloilo’s rich collection of heritage structures on Google Cultural Institute, an online platform that helps to make the world’s culture accessible and available to anyone. The collection shows off Iloilo’s rich cultural backdrop, dating back from the pre-colonial period up to the 20th century.

“This collection is set to make Iloilo join the growing list of historic cities featured on the Cultural Institute. It highlights the significance and importance of preserving culture, history and heritage among the Filipinos,” said Joyce Christine Colon, University Research Associate II of UP Visayas.

The exhibits describe Iloilo’s transformation into one of the leading provinces in the country. With the Cultural Institute, viewers can zoom in to appreciate the unique details and diverse influences on the architecture of religious landmarks such as the Miagao Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Jaro Cathedral, and the Molo Church. The Cultural Institute also makes it possible to view structures such as the Miagao Church over time, by enabling users to place old and new photographs side by side
On the left: Miagao Church (undated) and on the right: Miagao Church (2015), both from the CWVS Collection, University of the Philippines - Center for West Visayan Studies

Iloilo’s prosperity resulting from the textile and sugar export trades can be seen in its grandiose ancestral homes, and in the construction of a number of public buildings also featured on the Cultural Institute. Prime examples include Iloilo’s first City Hall and the Baluarte Elementary School, the first public school in the Philippines established in 1905.

The history of Iloilo’s City Hall, which was later donated to the University of the Philippines and declared a National Historical Landmark, can also be traced in a special exhibit. Old photographs and documents tell the story behind its transition from city hall, to a garrison during World War II, to a university.

Another exhibit on the River Esplanade also puts the spotlight on the importance of Iloilo River in history and the government’s bid to protect it and promote environmental consciousness among Ilonggos.

“The Philippines has such a rich culture to be proud of. Every city and every province has something to show off and the Cultural Institute aims to make all these available to everyone in a format most accessible to them ---- digital. This is our effort to educate and inspire future generations,” said Dennis Dizon, Google Cultural Institute Program Manager.

Top most in demand car features that buyers want

Technology plays an important role in society today. It spurs up the growth of the business and creates new opportunities.

Carmakers are investing billions of dollars to add new technologies that, it turns out, are not being utilized by many of the owners of those vehicles. In fact, the survey finds that at least 20-percent of new-vehicle owners have never used 16 of the 33 technology features measured.

Carmudi has analyzed data based on hundreds and thousands of global listings uploaded to the company’s car classifieds website to determine the most in-demand features worldwide.

The Philippines is the only country where tinted windows made the list of in-demand car features. Twenty-seven percent cars sold on its site have tinted windows and forty-five percent of cars in the site are equipped with advanced entertainment systems, followed by Indonesia at 36-percent and Vietnam at 34-percent.

One car feature that varied in terms of popularity worldwide was the alarm system. Indonesia posted the highest number with 57-percent users, followed by 48-percent in the Philippines. In Bangladesh and Pakistan, only 7-percent of vehicles sold on the site featured an alarm system.

Subir Lohani, managing director of Carmudi Philippines, said: “Technology has transformed the driving experience of every motorists. Motorists nowadays are looking for vehicles that are smarter and innovative.”

“The growth is due to the demand of needs of car buyers who are looking for cars that will change how they drive ,” adds Lohani.
