After two years, Sitti is finally ready to release her album Electro Sitti. 

“I put my heart and soul into it. I wrote four songs in Electro Sitti. I burnt the midnight oil just to give my fans quality songs they deserve to listen to. I hope the fans like all the songs and they begin their day listening to my new album.”

Sitti is still ecstatic about her collaboration with former Westlife front man Shane Filan who recently visited the country to promote his album Love Always. “Prior to our collaboration, I’ve been a fan of Westlife. I’m sure he has no idea who I am. (Laughs) It’s thanks to our recording label MCA Music that made the collaboration happen. At first, I couldn’t believe it. And even when I was recording my parts, it still didn’t feel real. When they sent me the rough mix it slowly started to sink in - I was doing a collaboration with an international pop star! And not only that, the lead singer of the boyband I used to adore back in the day! It was only when I met Shane on February 8, sang the song with him in person, actually shook his hands and looked into his eyes, that it all truly began to feel realer than real.”

She adds, “This collaboration really came as a surprise, I feel like my whole year has been made already but I know the best is yet to come. Globe, Facebook launch “Digital Discernment” module to promote responsible digital citizenship

Globe Telecom and Facebook recently launched a new “Digital Discernment” workshop, coinciding with Safer Internet Day on February 6, 2018. 

More than 100 public school students and teachers from Manila participated in the workshop, which included topics to teach people how to think critically online, and identify credible information from questionable information. Content includes practical tips on how to verify and examine online sources, and identify facts from opinions. The workshop promotes responsible digital citizenship among teachers and students in public and private schools across the country under the “Digital Thumbprint Program” or DTP. Food lovers collide at #SMDCeats - SMDC Food Crawl

Food trips, food crawl is the most enjoyable trip for foodies.

Last week, we, bloggers joined forces doing the SMDC food crawl. We visited four restaurants in SM Development Corporation  (SMDC) residences / environment, located in Makati City.

SM Development Corporation  (SMDC)  provides luxurious urban living through vertical villages perfectly integrated with a commercial retail environment, giving its residents access to a truly cosmopolitan lifestyle. They are sought after condominiums here in the Philippines within prime location, well-maintained swimming pool and facilities.

We food crawler visited SMDC food establishments, tried different dishes, restaurants and comparing dishes with their distinct taste.

For our first stop,  SEN LEK THAI NOODLE.

Their menu items are mainly rice and noodle dishes. We opted for two noodle dishes: the soup-based Mix Special Thai Noodle and the Pad Thai.

The Mix Special Thai ingredients’ servings were generous and you can add the extra cilantro and green onions made up for the broth’s blandness.

The serving is just perfect and the price is affordable given the dishes’ cheap prices.

When you’re looking for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern type of cuisine then Mister Kabab is the ideal place for you.

While waiting for the menu, they gave us hummus and pita bread that will make your hunger satisfied a bit.

I enjoyed Keema  - with eggplant is ground meat with smashed grilled eggplant mixed into it with spices.

Mister Kabab offers inexpensive for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.

All of the staff were accommodating.

TRIVIA : Ryu Ramen & Curry is the brainchild of owners and longtime friends Ogie Alcasid, Edwin Dazo, Neil Castillo, VJ Vergel de Dios, and Joseph Juico. This Japanese inspired restaurant opened in 2012 in their first branch in Tomas Morato. It was well received and earning them a loyal following. Their flagship branch is in SM Jazz Mall in Bel Air Makati.

They have custard buns, hakaws and dumplings with Hello Kitty as the design, Panda vegetable buns and Mickey Mouse-shaped radish cakes.

For the taste, all were okay,  the custard wasn’t as creamy though, but it was good.

Reflections, Ultimate Design and Lifestyle Experience set at Philippines International Furniture Show (PIFS) for March 2018

The Philippines International Furniture Show (known to some simply as PIFS) is one of Southeast Asia’s premier trade fairs, offering an extensive range of furniture products, accessories, and décor. 

Jointly organized by the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (CFIF), the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP), and the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation (PFIF) and will be held on March 8 to 10 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex.

“We see PIFS as the ultimate collaboration of Filipino Collection. It is where we show the world the ingenuity of our local manufacturers and designers, how we interpret the latest industry trends, and in many cases, take the lead in design innovation,” said Eduardo Zuluaga, overall event chairman of PIFS and President of Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines. 

Keeping true to its form as the “Milan of Asia”, the Philippines has a strong reputation for originality and new, often ground breaking, interpretation. That’s why PIFS continues to attract of buyers who want to see first-hand what Filipino design and craftsmanship has to offer.

As a show feature, PIFS will bring light to one of the most respected hardwood artists and furniture designer in the country. Osmundo Esguerra, a self-made furniture maker, has made a name for himself by having a distinct style and approach in handling indigenous wood. His crafts reflect his natural creativity and ingenuity, celebrating the true Filipino craftsmanship. In commemoration of his artistry, PIFS will be doing a special tribute to showcase a number of pieces by Esguerra during the show.

Boyce Avenue with MOIRA at the big dome !

THE “BOYCE” ARE COMING BACK. One of the biggest independent bands in the world – BOYCE AVENUE, are coming to Manila for a concert on June 1st at the Araneta Coliseum, together with the most streamed local artist now in the Philippines, MOIRA.

Boyce Avenue is comprised of the three Manzano brothers – Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals) and Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals). 

The Florida-based band was formed in 2004, and in 2007 they started posting videos on YouTube sharing not only their original songs, but also their distinctive acoustic covers with the world. The videos resonated instantly and to date the band's YouTube channel has amassed over 3.7 BILLION Views and over 10.6 MILLION Subscribers. On YouTube, the band is ranked above such artists as Justin Timberlake. Drake, Miley Cyrus, Sia, and Imagine Dragons. The brothers have forged a lasting and passionate digital fan base on other platforms as well, with over 3 MILLION Facebook likes and a half million Twitter followers.

Joining them on this concert is MOIRA, one of today’s favorites and one of the breakout stars of 2017 after winning the Himig Handog 2017 with her song “Titibo-Tibo”.
